Jonathan was extremely angry on the other end of the line. Smashing some things, he said angrily, “Credence, I will never donate my blood again. I’ll really beat the sh*t out of Caleb the next time I see him. He’s as much of an a*shole as his daughter! On the 10th of every month, he’ll put on an act and stop people from drawing blood if they don’t give him some benefits. What a f*cking b*tch!”
As Credence heard what Jonathan said, his expressions darkened.
Back then, Caleb and the Fisher Group had gotten a lot of benefits from him thanks to a real estate project development. However, due to the fact that Rosalie had secretly plotted against Dorothy multiple times, not only did he terminate the cooperation with the Fisher Group, he even severely dragged Caleb’s company stock down.
It was currently normal for Credence to refuse to draw blood.
Back then, he had never cared about the benefits that Jonathan would give Caleb, as long as he could draw some blood and give them to his comatose father.
However, on this day, the Fisher family, especially Linda, did not allow Jonathan to go in. Ever since she saw the video of Rosalie being humiliated by those gangsters, she seemed to have lost her mind and had completely gone insane. Not only did she not want to draw blood, she even cursed at the top of her voice as she scolded Jonathan like a madwoman.
A gentleman would not argue with a woman, especially not a crazy middle-aged woman who had already lost her mind. Jonathan had been scolded by Linda until he could not fight back and had barely escaped.
In so many years, this was the first time that Jonathan was shouting without caring about his image, “F*ck it! Credence, I don’t know if Rosalie is at home or not, but she didn’t show up. Linda and Caleb said that they have to meet you if they were to agree to donating their blood.”
Credence clutched the phone in his hands and laughed lowly.
His indifferent face looked extremely cruel as he said, “They want to meet me? Very well, I happen to have a lot of things to settle with them too.”
Credence hung up on the call and walked out of the guest room. He walked up the stairs into his bedroom on the second floor. After taking a cold shower and clearing his headache, he changed into a black suit. As he walked past the living room, he grabbed the car keys on the coffee table and quickly exited the villa.
As Caleb could provide blood for Credence’s father, he had always gone softer on Rosalie.
He was indeed good to her, but it was not of love or like. He simply just did not hate her.
When it came to Rosalie’s body, Credence was not interested at all. He simply had no attraction towards her.
Truth be told, a successful and mature man would rarely fall in love with a woman whom he just met. Most of the time, the man would fall for a woman due to their frequent intimate encounters.
As for a woman like that, perhaps only Dorothy could play that part.
Credence raised his hand and pinched his aching temples with his rough and tough hands. He raised his head, and the burning sun shone on his face through the glass window, making his eyes sting.
He had completely broken that stubborn woman’s heart, and she would never return to his side ever again.
After a long time, Credence took his phone out and called Benjamin, “Go to this address and inform Victor to go to the Fisher family to meet Rosalie.”
…
Forty minutes passed.
A black Maybach stopped in front of the Fisher family’s mansion.
Credence got out of the car. He held a business phone with one hand, and placed his other hand in his pocket. He walked into the house elegantly.
In a bedroom on the east wing of the second floor, Rosalie was leaning against the floor-length window, hiding herself behind a green curtain. She dumbly stared at the handsome and noble man downstairs with a slightly cold look on her face that was mixed with burning desire. She seemed to be able to smell his scent through the distance of two floors.
Her fingers gently twisted a delicate magenta lipstick and smeared it on her lips. However, her gaze was fixed on Credence as he expressionlessly walked into her courtyard.
Rosalie took a deep breath, then returned to her dressing table. After dressing her up in front of the mirror for a few minutes, she picked up the phone and sent Caleb a message. After that, she smiled proudly.
As long as Caleb took advantage of this opportunity to make Credence drink a cup of spiked beverage and faint, she could find a way to win him over. That way, he would never betray her again and she would be the only woman in Credence’s eyes.
Rosalie stared at herself in the mirror. She stood up and gracefully walked to the door of the bedroom. She stood barefooted and quietly waited for any movements downstairs.
…
The villa was built in the center of a huge private land. Even their closest neighbors were a few hundred meters away. Even if they made a huge noise, it would not attract anyone else’s attention. This place had the utmost privacy.
When Credence approached, the Fisher family’s gate was tightly shut. Jonathan was blocked by a few police officers as they forbade him from approaching the Fisher family’s gate. He leaned gloomily against a tree branch and lowered his head as he plucked the innocent petals, as if he wanted to rip the flowers apart.
With a dark expression on his face, he said, “Credence, did you see that? These f*cking policemen are absolutely disrespecting me. I’m so furious.”
The young policeman who had just graduated and did not care about his status and identity. He exuded righteousness and he hated people like Jonathan who had rich parents and the power to bully others. He swore to protect the world and bring justice to it.
“I would like to see who dares to stop me!”
Credence’s face tensed, and he gave Yadriel a phone call. Very soon, a few policemen received a complaint from their leader. All of them gave Jonathan an apology and then drove away dejectedly.
With a poker face, he sneered coldly and reached out to press the doorbell.
At that moment, Victor had also been sent over by Benjamin. The two of them quickly got out of the car and stood behind Credence. Victor picked up the materials in his briefcase and made a gesture to Credence.
Hard work was bound to pay off. In the past few days, he had found evidence of Rosalie deliberately harming Credence’s father. Although he could not send such a vicious woman to prison, he could still let Credence discover her terrifying true colors, which was slightly rewarding.
Not long after the doorbell rang, someone opened the door from inside.
Not even looking at Caleb’s fat old face, Credence emanated a cold and stern aura as he suddenly kicked the door to the ground. With a quick leap, he grabbed Caleb’s fat neck with one hand as he used all his strength to strangle him.
Before Caleb could even greet Credence, Credence had firmly grabbed his throat, and he started coughing in pain.
Credence grabbed hold of his neck and entered the living room. Linda rushed towards him in a panic and screamed, “Credence, what are you doing? Let go! Let go of him! You’re strangling him to death.”
Before Linda could pounce on him, Credence threw Caleb aside, hitting Linda. The two of them awkwardly fell to the ground.
“Didn’t you two want to meet me?”
He lowered his head to stare at them from above. He said in a cruel and cold tone, “I’m here now, so give me your blood!”
They could not avoid drawing their blood anymore. However, Rosalie had repeatedly ordered them to give Credence the cup of water, and it had to be done.
At the thought of that, Caleb wiped his face, which was covered with cold sweat. He raised his head and looked at the man in front of him who was exuding a cold aura. He asked cautiously, “Credence, I’m not deliberately making things difficult for Mr. Stanton. I’ve been calling you but you didn’t answer my calls. When I went to your company, I couldn’t see you. This was the only way for me to meet you. Alright, you must be tired after coming all the way here. Have a glass of water first!”
“Enough of that. Just spit it out if you have anything to say.”
Linda suddenly grew confused and shouted at the top of her lungs. She remembered the video of Rosalie being humiliated by those hooligans. Tears of pain and despair rolled down the corners of her eyes as she pleaded, “Credence, how has Rosalie offended you? How did the Fisher family offend you? You found a group of thugs to humiliate her, and you even dragged our business and our share prices down. What do you want? What on earth do you want?”
“No matter the circumstances, she is still Dorothy’s sister, so she can be considered as your sister too. The Fisher family is your family as well. Caleb and I are your parents-in-law. Why are you treating us like this? Why?”
Rosalie, who had been eavesdropping from the door of her bedroom upstairs, heard Linda’s speech. She was so anxious that her body started to tremble violently.
Her body trembled so violently that even the door creaked from her shuddering.
Credence looked up and shot a sharp glance at the second floor. He stared straight into Rosalie’s bloodshot eyes. He sneered and gave a sidelong glance, signaling Victor to present all the documents in the briefcase to Caleb and Linda. He said in an extremely cold and cruel tone, “This is the reason why.”
