Chapter 114 Too Cruel

Credence walked out of the room and looked at the elevator. He watched as the doors of the elevator opened. Benjamin was walking quickly towards him. He greeted him in a hurry. Behind him were several gangsters who looked obscene. Each of them seemed to have won five million dollars from the lottery. They were smirking while following Benjamin.
Not only would they have a woman to sleep with, they would even be paid. It was like a gift from the heavens above.
Benjamin walked to the door and raised his head to look at the indifferent Credence. He respectfully reported, “Mr. Scott, I have brought some people over, and we have reached an agreement with the price. Shall I let them in now?”
These few hooligans from the suburbs usually robbed other people and stole from them. They had never seen such a high-end place, nor had they ever met a man as successful as Credence, who looked handsome and elegant. He was so cold and powerful that his aura alone could kill people. All of them behaved themselves and lowered their heads, as if they were frightened quails.
Credence stood where he was and nodded, “After everything is done, make a copy of the recorded video and send it to Rosalie. She will know what to do.”
“Yes, Mr. Scott.”
Benjamin quickly took two steps forward and opened the door of the room. He stared at the dispirited Rosalie who was lying on the floor, twisting her body with all her might as she let out soft groans. With a cold chuckle, he turned around and called the few gangsters to go in.
How dare she try to plot against Mr. Scott! She deserved to be abused by these rogues!
“Ah, who are you people? Let me go, Credence, I was wrong. Please, spare me…”
As the door closed, Credence got ready to leave. He suddenly heard the miserable cries of that woman and the obscure laughter of the hooligans. His footsteps did not stop at all and his expressions remained emotionless. There were no emotions in his face at all as he walked into the elevator at a steady pace.
Credence walked out of Blues Cafe, standing under the scorching hot sun of June. His skin was being shone on by the sun, but his heart remained icy cold and full of uncertainty.
Other than having natural talent in making money and managing companies, he cared little about relationships, even less when it came to relationships between men and women.
It was only until Dorothy had divorced him and got locked up in the police station and he lost the woman who was once his wife and who had once always been by his side that he realized that his world had lost its colors. Without her worrying about his well-being every day, his days had to get boring.
It turned out that she had unconsciously planted herself in his heart and blossomed. Her branches and tendrils wrapped around his veins and cells, and he was no longer able to remove her from his body.
Even though she was bearing Juelz’s child, he did not find her disgusting. Instead, he only felt regret.
It was a pity that when she had completely belonged to him, she had never had even a few days of peace, and he had never cared about her joy, anger, sorrow or happiness.
Credence called Jonathan while frowning, “It’s me. Come out and have a drink with me.”
He went to a nearby bar and asked for a room and a few bottles of highly-concentrated white wine. As he was waiting, he drank alone first.
The evidence was so conclusive. It was even more difficult to strive for Dorothy’s release with so many witnesses on the Internet.
As of now, he could only firmly control Rosalie with that video of her messing around, and make her say that as Dorothy’s sister, she was willing to plead for a lighter sentence for Dorothy in court. Only in this way could Dorothy receive the most favorable treatment.
When Jonathan arrived, Credence had already finished almost all the wine, and there were a lot of empty bottles piled on the table.
When he saw Jonathan, Credence did not babble more nonsense. He directly asked the waiter to open another bottle of the highest-grade spirit and directly gave a cup to Jonathan without any hesitation.
Jonathan’s alcohol tolerance was not high. He poured half a cup of alcohol and clinked glasses with Credence. He raised his head and slowly took a sip, “Credence, you had been in such a hurry to find me. Are you sure you’re just here to have a drink with me?”
It was so unlike for him to drink to drown his sorrows away.
Credence ignored him, and silently poured glasses of wine with the high alcohol content into his throat again and again.
Jonathan saw that Credence did not intend to answer his question, but he could not bear to see him continue to ruin himself like that. He could only turn his eyes to another direction, light a cigarette and smoke. He irritably blew out white smoke rings one after another.
He thought that at that moment, what Credence needed was not a friend to talk to, but someone to drink with.
After a long while, Credence suddenly noticed the silence in the room. Images flashed on the screen, and there was no music playing at all. He narrowed his eyes and finished his third bottle of alcohol. After that, he turned around to look at Jonathan, who was smoking and drinking silently. He then asked in a cold but reasonable tone, “Was I a real b*stard towards Dorothy back in the past?”
“You were even worse than a b*stard! Credence, to tell you the truth, if I were Dorothy, I would never forgive you for the rest of my life!”
Jonathan subconsciously drank a few more glasses of wine. His mind slowed down, yet his mouth got looser. There were a lot of things that he had dared not to say in the past, but now, he was spouting them all out as if he was not afraid of death.
Thinking of the grievances and pain Dorothy had suffered in the past four years, he continued seriously, “During your four years of marriage, you flirted with her sister Rosalie everyday behind her back. Every year, you would hold a grand birthday party for Rosalie, but you never even remembered Dorothy’s birthday. You had only given her a birthday present once, and it was the one Rosalie had rejected.”
“The most crucial thing was that you had ignored her pregnancy and forced her to get rid of the baby. You’re worse than a beast! So, you’re not just a b*stard, you’re a scum even.”
The consequences of speaking so rapidly under the pressure of Credence’s cold gaze was that Jonathan had to drink four cups of spirit continuously, and he almost passed out.
D*mn it, it was so hard for him to drink so much. Credence was too cruel. He swore that in the future, he would never tell the truth again even if he was beaten to death!
Jonathan thought that Credence would give him a good beating in anger. However, he just sat quietly on the sofa with a glass in his hand. He lifted his gaze and replied coldly, “She got entangled with Juelz behind my back. Now, she is pregnant with Juelz’s child. We are even now.”
Jonathan retorted in dissatisfaction, “Since you two are even, why are you still drinking so sadly?”
He felt somewhat indignant.
Upon hearing that, Credence’s body trembled violently and he smiled. Under the dim light, his expression was indifferent, “It’s just a pity that I’ve lost a woman who can arouse me.”
Dorothy had already slept with Juelz, and she even got pregnant with his child. No matter how suitable her body was for him and how much he wanted her, he could not tolerate her presence anymore.
Jonathan fearlessly replied, “Credence, if you keep saying words that you do not mean, one day, you will regret it.”
He pursed his lips and hummed.
There was nothing to regret about that!
She was just a woman after all.
A woman that had an ambiguous relationship with another man was a woman who was not worthy of his cherishing.
After taking one last sip, Credence stood up from the sofa with a gloomy look on his face. He pressed his aching temples with one hand and picked up his phone with the other. Then, he walked out of the room.
He endured the pain in his stomach. After taking only two steps, his cell phone rang.
Credence, the handsome man with a perfect body and straight legs, leaned against the wall. He narrowed his eyes and answered the call.
