Chapter 115 Progress

It was Credence’s university friend, Yadriel Worley from the police station who had called him.
After exchanging a few courteous greetings, Yadriel quickly got to the point. He asked, “Credence, Dorothy is about to go to court. How is your investigation going?”
“As expected, the victim has agreed to help her clear her crimes, and is willing to negotiate about the terms and accept compensation too.”
Credence was tightly gripping the phone in his hands as he spoke with a calm but cold expression on his face.
“Great, I’m almost done here too. See you on Monday.”
It was the weekend, and it was less than two days until Monday.
His face was cold, and there was not a single emotion in his deep eyes.
Credence walked into the parking lot. As soon as he sat in the car, he heard the sound of someone politely knocking on his car window right as his well-defined hands rested on the steering wheel.
“Mr. Scott, what a coincidence to meet you here. I happen to have something to show you.”
The man was the private detective, Victor who Credence spent a lot of money to hire.
When Victor saw Credence slowly rolling down his window, he hurriedly retracted his chiseled face. He said quickly, “Mr. Scott, I’ve done some investigating and found out that Rosalie had gone to meet your family’s butler, Roger. She had seen him two years ago in the afternoon before your father’s incident.”
“Coincidentally, the next morning, Roger had a serious case of cold and diarrhea, thus he had been sent to the hospital. That morning was the morning your father had accidentally been pushed off the balcony by your wife. I think that these two matters are definitely related.”
Victor’s expressions were incredibly calm. His analysis was logical. Although Credence had drunk too much, he could clearly remember everything Victor uttered.
His heart, which had been as solid as iron, suddenly circled with a sense of panic that could not be suppressed.
His hands, which had been holding the steering wheel, were gripping on it so hard that green veins bulged on the back of his hands. The scene looked terrifying.
Although the heater was turned on to its maximum setting, Credence still felt a chill run down his spine.
If Dorothy had not slept with him on her own accord; If his father’s fall had not been her fault…
Then, what the hell had he done throughout all these years? What right did he have to loathe and hurt Dorothy like that?
Credence nodded, “Alright, I understand. You’ve done a good job. Keep on investigating.”
His pitch-black pupils were extremely deep and dark, so dark that there wasn’t even the slightest glimmer of light. His entire body was shrouded in a gloomy and oppressive aura.
Victor bid him farewell in a hurry, “Mr. Scott, I will take my leave first.”
He hailed a taxi and got in, continuing his investigation.
Credence leaned back against the driver’s seat. He then let go of the steering wheel, covered his sour face with one hand, and stayed still for a long time.
It was not until Benjamin pulled open the car door and handed him a USB stick with Rosalie’s unsightly video to Credence that he came back to his senses. He looked down at the USB stick in his palm, and his eyes flashed with ferocity. He said, “Let’s go back to the company and inform all the senior executives to head to the conference room. I want the Fisher Group’s stock to consecutively fall for an entire week.”
Benjamin did not know what had happened in the past hour. What on earth had happened that made Credence want to turn against the Fisher Group and Rosalie so badly?
However, when he saw that Credence was not even bothered about Dorothy’s family going into bankruptcy, he instead applauded with joy to show his agreement.
Benjamin had superb driving skills, thus they arrived at the company in half an hour.
Credence got out of the car and went straight into the meeting room.
Two rows of senior employees were sitting in the room, expressions dark. All of them stared at their president, who had a cold and horrible look on his face. They all sat solemnly.
Benjamin picked up a large stack of documents. He pushed the door open and walked in. He handed the documents to each of the senior employees and then went to Credence’s side. He slowly and clearly repeated the order that Credence had given him, which was the order to cause Fisher Group’s stocks to fall for an entire week non-stop.
Credence drank a cup of strong coffee. He glared at everyone present coldly. His long and dark eyebrows were frowning, his eyes cold. “Even if you have to work overtime, get it done by tonight. After completing this task, I will ask the Finance Department to give each of you a five percent bonus.”
After saying that, all the executives and high-level employees burst into cheers.
“Long live the president!”
They cheered loudly, “Long live the president!”
Since they had once controlled the Fisher family’s stocks once, everyone was familiar with it when doing it another time. Soon, Caleb’s company stocks fell by three percentage points.
Credence’s face remained calm. He stared at the Fisher Group’s stocks as they fell like a landslide. He chuckled coldly and slowly smiled, his sneer getting deeper and deeper.

In the rooftop private room of Blues Cafe, Rosalie’s clothes were disheveled, her long hair strung all over her face. Streams of blood gushed out from under her body, and it seemed like she was bathing in blood.
“You b*stards, I’m going to kill you. I will kill all of you with my own bare hands.”
The drug had lost its effects, and she slowly regained her senses. She watched as those thugs put on their pants while her teeth and fists clenched tightly, looking ferocious. Her long and sharp fingernails pierced into the skin of her palm. The pain she felt was heart-wrenching, but it could not compare to the pain her body was going through and the trauma she felt in her heart.
She had shamelessly been Credence’s mistress for four years. In the end, this was how she ended up. He had mercilessly abandoned her to be humiliated by a bunch of hooligans. How could she not hate him?
“Kill us? A woman like you? Haha, stop joking. Do you think you are a circus monkey?”
The man on her right leaned over and kicked Rosalie in the waist, which had long been bruised until it turned purple in color. She was in so much pain that she curled up and cried out in pain.
The man on her other side laughed obscenely and said, “I did not expect her to be a virgin. How awesome. Do you guys want to have more fun?”
“Didn’t the boss tell us to leave immediately after we got done, though?”
“What’s there to be afraid of? This woman is barely alive. She can’t even crawl out to call for help. It’s rare to meet such a delicious meal like her. I just want to play with her until I’m satisfied.”
The rest of the hooligans seemed to be persuaded. They looked at each other for a few seconds and smirked. Then, all of them rushed towards Rosalie.
Rosalie knew very well that her body had already suffered a lot of injuries. If she continued to suffer such inhumane torture, she really would die.
She gritted her teeth. By mustering her last bit of strength from god-knows-where, she crawled out of the circle made by those hooligans with her hands and feet, pulled open the door of the private room and rushed out.
Her vision was blurry and Rosalie could not tell which direction the elevator was. She could only run forward like a madwoman!
It seemed that there was a cold black figure standing in front of her. She had no time to dodge, thus she crashed straight into the person and fell to the ground.
When she was about to get up, the man held her up by her shoulders. His hand was so strong that she was dragged upwards at once.
“Rosalie Fisher?”
She could tell that the voice belonged to that devil-like man. However, at that moment, she could not care about anything else. She sobbed desperately. She hugged the man’s arm with the rest of her strength and howled for help.
The man followed Rosalie’s horrified line of sight and looked over. His eyes caught a few noisy hooligans and he then waved his hand gloomily. A few men clad in black as fierce as them surrounded the thugs, knocking them down in an instant and dragging them away like stray, dead dogs.
“Come in with me, and let’s get you changed. With your miserable appearance, you really don’t deserve the title of the campus belle of your theatre school.”
That man stared at Rosalie coldly, giving her no room to refuse.
“Okay.”
Rosalie was so scared that her hair stood on end, but she had no choice but to follow the man into a private room nearby.
After a few seconds, the crackling sound of whips rang. Soon, came Rosalie’s horrifying screams. She sounded even more miserable than when she had been humiliated by those thugs.
After an hour and a half, the man was finally satisfied. He took an ointment from his assistant and threw it coldly on Rosalie’s bloody face. He said, “This is the latest anti-scar ointment made with the newest technology. Within three days, the injuries on your body will recover completely.”
He was not interested in whether a woman was a virgin or not, and was only interested in the fun of torturing them.
Especially doing so to the women that Credence had taken a fancy to!
After he left, Rosalie slowly got up from the cold floor. All the pain and mockery she felt turned into burning hatred and anger that burned in the bottom of her heart.
Credence had harmed her to such an extent, yet he still wanted her to help Dorothy in court! In his dreams would she do that!
