Natasha’s heart raced. She watched as Pavel’s men turned back, their hands holding their guns. But Marcus was nowhere to be found. The four men whispered to themselves and all took steps away to search for the strange sound they had heard.
Natasha’s heart continued to beat in fear. What if they find Marcus and hurt him? But since Marcus had risked his life, it will be best for her to follow up with the plan.
She then swiftly walked inside, her eyes went behind her skull when she saw Pavel violently raping Naomi.
Natasha, enraged, hit him hard on the neck from behind. Pavel fell but immediately stood. He ran to where his gun was and stretched it towards Natasha but he continued to feel the effect of Natasha’s hit on his neck.
“Natasha, what are you doing here?” Asked Pavel.
Natasha’s eyes spilled more tears as she watched Naomi, wasted on the floor. “Not only did your soldiers raped her mercilessly in the past. You even did the same. What has she done?” Natasha asked with a broken heart. For all she knew, Naomi was innocent, perhaps, her only crime was being the nanny to her kids.
The fact that if Naomi had not worked for her, she would never have gone through the terrible things that had befallen her, hurts Natasha so much. She could feel her heart folding up.
“Nata… Sha…” Naomi called weakly. Blood stains could be seen on the floor.
“She refused to give up your location and I told her, that if she keeps hiding your location, I’ll make the rest of her days torture,” Pavel said. “And I’ve been keeping to that as I’m a man of my words.” Pavel had now lowered his gun for he didn’t consider Natasha a threat at all.
Natasha wiped her tears with the back of her palm, “Naomi, you’ve been suffering because of me. I’ll never forgive myself.” Naomi sobbed.
“You are a monster,” Natasha said to Pavel.
Pavel smirked, “I’m only obsessed with you, Natasha. As you can see, five years have already passed and I’m still crazily in love with you.”
“Thought you said Dmitry was dead, how come he was still alive?” Natasha asked.
Before Pavel could respond, Natasha heard some sounds outside. She quickly remembered that Pavel came with men. Have those men captured Marcus?
Natasha swiftly charged at Pavel but Pavel was quick to guide her first blow, he sent her a kick to the belly. Natasha coughed.
“Don’t let me hurt you, my baby,” Pavel said, his gun already tucked behind him.
Natasha targeted his jugular but he guided it and kicked her hard, Natasha went to crash on the wall.
“What’s wrong with you, Natasha? Anyways, you are going back with me to Crying Sun,” he said and approached her, then held her by the hair and pulled her up. Natasha felt great pain.
Natasha may be good when it comes to martial arts but she’s not extraordinary at it. She only learnt it for self defense and not like a professional. Unlike Pavel who was raised to be a soldier since he will take over his father’s empire.
Naomi managed to stand and walked closer to Pavel who was backing her, with the little strength that Naomi had, she removed the gun from his back pocket and shot him.
Natasha watched with horror as Pavel dropped dead, Naomi had shot him in the head. Naomi then placed the gun to her head, “I can’t continue to live like this, Natasha. I’ve been ruined.”
“You are about to do something stupid, bring the gun down please. Suicide should never be an option,” Natasha said, approaching her gently and carefully for she want to swiftly snatch the gun from her.
All of a sudden, Naomi took the gun from her head and shot it, Natasha’s heart skipped. But when she turned, she saw that one of Pavel’s men had died.
Natasha understood the men were four, if one is down then there’s three left. “Let me have the gun, I’ll deal with the other three men.”
“No Natasha, you don’t have the balls to kill,” Naomi stood weakly, barely able to stand. She suddenly ran before Natasha and shot twice.
Natasha was shocked to see that the remaining three men had arrived but Naomi was able to gun down two of them as for the third man, he was quick to take cover.
“Naomi, hide,” Natasha quickly went to take cover but Naomi remained in the open, her gun stretched towards where the fourth man had taken cover.
As soon as the man appeared, Naomi shot him but the man shot at the same time. The gun in Naomi’s hand dropped, for the bullet had pierced her left heart. Natasha appeared from her hiding since there was no more threat and went to catch Naomi who was almost falling.
“Naomi, I don’t want this time to be the last time I’ll see you,” Natasha said, crying.
With blood overflowing in her mouth, Naomi managed to speak, “make sure the rest… of our enemies pay…” These were the last words she said before her eyes closed.
Natasha sobbed over and over again, all of a sudden, she remembered Marcus.
She placed Naomi down gently and ran out, “Marcus! Marcus!” She called while searching, her heart beating. Hoping that these men hadn’t killed her son.
Her phone then rang and she immediately answered it even though it was an anonymous call, “hello,” Natasha was the first to speak. There was so much distress in her voice.
“My dad’s men had found me and have returned me home. Were you able to save the woman?” Marcus asked.
Natasha cried more on the phone. She didn’t know how to tell him that Naomi is dead, “her torturers are all dead.”
“And the woman?” Marcus asked.
When Natasha was taking time to reply, Marcus spoke, “it’s quite sad. Take heart. Don’t call this line, okay? It’s for the butler, I had taken it from him without his knowledge.”
Natasha nodded and managed to say in the middle of her tears, “okay.”
The following day, Natasha honored Naomi’s grave with flowers. She remained before her grave for more than two hours before eventually standing up.
As she turned in an attempt to walk away, she was blocked by a tall and mighty figure. “Dmitry,” she called reflexively even as she took a step back.
Dmitry’s eyes were like those of a demon. Dmitry left her and walked over to a grave. “This is my mother’s grave.”
Hearing that, Natasha’s heart shattered. Mrs. Valentina eventually died. Natasha wished her medical skills were up to pal then like it is now, she might have been successful in helping the old woman heal.
“And this is my god-sister’s grave.”
Wait what! Tatiana is dead! Not possible. She walked closer to him and asked, “Tatiana?”
Dmitry grabbed her by the neck, “you murdered both of them and you still have no remorse nor fear in you.”
Natasha began to find it hard to breathe, she almost stopped breathing before he let go of her neck. Natasha coughed for a couple of times before she balanced herself and spoke, “excuse me, I didn’t murder anyone.”
“You didn’t? You dare to still lie before me?” Dmitry asked with rage.
“Listen, I’ve been in the west most of my life. I just recently moved here, how could I possibly murder anyone in your family?”
“Is that true?” Dmitry asked. “Why did you come to my house, wanting to take my kids away?”
“And do not think I do not know you are the doctor that attended to my daughter, insinuating that my woman is not the mother of the kids,” Dmitry said.
Natasha was surprised he found her identity so quickly but at least, he didn’t know yet she’s the Legendary miracle doctor.
“More reasons why you should believe me. I’ve been in the west. I’ve just been sent here by the miracle doctor. I do not know what news anyone is feeding you but I didn’t murder anyone,” Natasha said.
She added, “as for why I came to your house, if I were to explain, it wouldn’t make sense to you. But from what I see, you lost your memory and then your so-called woman probably fed you many lies.”
Dmitry believed most of the things Ruby told him after he lost his memory because Yuri complimented it. Yuri didn’t have a loss of memory so if he says Ruby is right then she is.
Dmitry spoke, “I can bury you alive right now.”
“Do you have any proof that I killed your family?”
“Your DNA was found on their body.” Dmitry said. He didn’t bother to involve the cops cause he wanted to handle it himself.
“I’m thinking of what to do to you, to kill you right now or let you suffer slowly.”
“What if you were wrong, how will you feel if you find out the truth in the future that I’m innocent?” Natasha asked.
“We have a past together, Dmitry. If you won’t hear me out then I can’t help you.”
Dmitry clenched his fist, disgusted by the woman before him, “can you heal one from memory loss?”
“Every sickness has a cure,” Natasha answered. “It’s just that not all cures have been found for every sickness.”
Dmitry wondered why he didn’t feel sick or disgusted when he grabbed her by the neck. Even Ruby, touching her, hugging her, always makes him feel sick. He always had to go and bath himself afterwards and use some type of drug to get better. Touching women just disgusts him so much.
Dmitry wished badly he could recover his memory but the doctor had told him that may never happen.
“Is there a cure to my memory loss?” Dmitry asked. He wanted to know if the woman before him would be useful or if he should just kill her. Murderers of his family didn’t deserve to live.
“There is no cure,” Natasha responded.
