“If there’s no cure, then you are useless to me,” Dmitry said.
Natasha observed him for some seconds and said lowly, “you’ve changed, Dmitry.”
Dmitry brought out his phone and placed a call across to Yuri who answered immediately, “send two men to my location.”
“What if I’m innocent?” Natasha asked with a sullen look.
Dmitry ignored her and walked a few meters away from her, he was now leaning on his car but he kept his eyes on her.
Natasha walked closer to him and said, “I can work on helping you recover your memory.”
“How can I trust you?” Dmitry questioned.
“Cause I’ve once helped someone in the west recover their memory, I believe I can do the same for you,” Natasha said. She didn’t want to get into an unnecessary conflict with him for she had her own men too. Since Dmitry had called Yuri to send two men over, she could just call Gen to send ten men over but what’s the point of engaging in a bloody battle? What if she gets hurt in the process?
“But you said a few seconds ago that there’s no cure?” Dmitry asked. “Just remain there until my men come.”
Natasha exhaled, “It seems you are yet to considered my advise?” Although Dmitry didn’t pay her any attention anymore, she continued, “Ruby is not the mother of your kids, why don’t you give it a benefit of doubt?”
“And what if she’s not their mother? What does it change?” He asked. “I do not care if she’s their mother or not.”
“Oh!” Natasha’s heart fell. “Can you tell me more about the death of your mother and your god-sister?”
“Is this a joke to you? I should be asking you why you truly had them killed?” Dmitry asked.
“What logical reason were you given by those who claimed I killed them?”
Just as Natasha finished speaking, a car drove in with speed and two men immediately stepped down and greeted Dmitry politely. “Take this woman away.”
The two men went towards Natasha but Natasha took steps back, “I won’t let you people take me away.”
“Please corporate, miss or we’ll be rude to you.” One of the men said.
“Go on. Be rude!” Natasha dared them. The men charged at her forcefully but she engaged the two men in a bloody battle. At the end, she won and the two men laid lifeless on the floor.
With sweats now dripping off her forehead, she exhaled heavily, “that was hard.”
Dmitry had never seen a woman fight with such tenacity. Although she wasn’t particularly skilled, she gave it her best. Natasha was injured in a few places but she seemed not to care. She was happier that she was able to take his men down.
“You can’t just forcefully take me away. I’m not an object.” Natasha stated.
Dmitry wasn’t going too hard on her cause he’s yet to figure out why touching her doesn’t disgust him or make him feel sick. If he were to go hard on her, he would not have to bring his men over, he would bury her right there and then himself.
“Did you know I once helped your grandfather heal from a terrible disease? I believe he may still recognize me and there’s no way he’ll believe the rumors that some people are spreading about me being the murderer of Tatiana and Valentina.”
Dmitry was stunned she knew his mother and his god-sister’s names. He suddenly grabbed her by her upper arm and pulled her towards him, their bodies almost collided, “my grandfather is diagnosed with Dementia. He’s not going to remember you even if you once played a role on his health.”
Dmitry confirmed even further that this woman doesn’t repel him in any way. How come? Is this woman truly innocent? But all evidence regarding the murderer of Valentina and Tatiana all pointed at her.
If he were to kill her, would he be killing an innocent woman? He probably should investigate further just to be more certain. He would also keep eyes on her. The last thing he wanted was to hurt an innocent woman.
He let go of her arm and huffed in frustration. He hates the fact that a man as powerful as him could lose his memory. It was so humiliating. The fact that everything about his past was told to him angers him greatly.
“How long will it take for you to help me recover my memory?” Dmitry asked.
“Six to twelve months,” Natasha answered.
Dmitry frowned, “how about a lifetime?”
“You have only a month to help me recover my memory otherwise, I’ll ban you from this city. I guarantee you that you’ll never be able to step your foot in this city ever again.” Dmitry said.
Natasha knew he absolutely had the power to do that. And that won’t be good for her since her kids are here. She can’t afford to be banned from a city where her children are. Plus the faster Dmitry recovers his memory, the better for her.
“I’ll give it my best,” Natasha said calmly.
Dmitry noticed that Natasha didn’t look scared like many women would. Is it because she thought she could fight or because she thinks she’s innocent? Dmitry thought.
“I’d come here to mourn a friend. I’ll now take my leave,” Natasha said and turned.
She had barely taken three steps away when Dmitry spoke, “I’ll need you to pay more attention to my children. Probably come to my place often to check on them and administer treatments to them when necessary.”
Natasha turned back to him. That seemed to be a good idea since she’ll be able to get close to her kids and probably make them realize she’s their mother. Although that will be hard since the kids matured to understand that Ruby is their mother.
“We need to talk about price too,” Natasha hid the excitement on her face and acted like she wasn’t really willing.
“Price? Didn’t you claim the kids are yours? Now you have the privilege to be with them,” Dmitry said.
Natasha was shocked that he could read through her. She had indeed claimed the kids were hers on the day she went to her father’s mansion that had now being bought by Dmitry.
Took a while before Natasha spoke, “But you don’t believe I’m related to the kids in any way.”
“When you are ready to talk about the price, please reach out to me. I won’t administer home treatment to your kids for free,” then she continued to walk away.
