“Take me to her ward,” Natasha demanded.
“Unless I reveal your identity to Mr. Dmitry’s security, they may not let you into the daughter’s ward,” Gen said.
“Just introduce me as the new attending nurse of the lady,” Natasha said.
“Okay, Miracle Doctor.” Gen said and then gestured for her to lead the way.
Natasha thought, what if Dmitry sees her? He will recognize her as the woman who came to take his children away.
“Get me a face mask, Gen,” Natasha demanded.
Gen thought for a while but didn’t bother to express his curiosity. “I’ll be right back.”
Gen came back a few minutes later with a face mask that covered the nose down to the jaw. Only the eyes and the forehead will be revealed.
“This should do,” Natasha said as she collected it. Then she covered half of her face with it.
Soon, Gen and Natasha were entering the ward that Rose was. When Natasha got in, her heart hurt, seeing her daughter lay on the bed weakly.
“Mr. Dmitry, this is Doctor. Natasha, she was sent from our Legendary miracle doctor all the way from the West. I believe she can deliver, “Gem said.
“This Legendary miracle Doctor of the West, how can I get to see her? I’ll pay any amount to meet her,” Dmitry said.
“I already told you before, Mr. Dmitry. The Legendary miracle Doctor is overbooked in the west. She barely has the time to breathe. I’m afraid you may not be able to see him.”
“But I heard she was coming over to oversee this hospital a few days ago? Is she not coming anymore?” Dmitry asked. He had anticipated the presence of the miracle doctor for so long for his two children were sickly and the best doctors, unfortunately, couldn’t help. Not even Gem, the top most skilled doctor here in Leaf City.
“She informed us just yesterday she won’t be able to make it again.” Gen said. “But Doctor Natasha served directly under the legendary miracle doctor, I believe she will give it all her best.”
Dmitry looked at the petite Natasha, her posture looked familiar as if he had seen her recently, “and why is she covering her face?”
“It’s for personal reasons,” Natasha chirped.
That voice? Why does it sound like he heard it recently?
“I don’t joke with my kids. You better be sure you have what it takes to care for my kids, otherwise, I won’t hesitate to throw you inside hell if anything happens to my daughter.”
‘She’s my daughter too. There’s no way I’m hurting her.’ Natasha said in her mind. “Don’t worry, Mr. Dmitry. Just let me do my job.” Natasha couldn’t help but think back to Dmitry’s mother, is she still alive or is she dead now? Cause Natasha was unsuccessful in helping the woman heal in the past.
“Go on,” Dmitry gestured. He’s always around most of the times when his children are being treated. Even if the doctor advised him to stay outside, he would insist on staying around. For the love he has for her his children is excessive.
Gen walked away since Dmitry had allowed Natasha to administer treatment to Rose. Natasha began by examining the little girl. Touching her daughter again for the first time in a long time caused Natasha to have goosebumps all over her body.
Dmitry, who had gone to sit on a stool by the corner of the room kept staring intently at Natasha. Could that be the psycho woman who claimed his kids are hers? He kept monitoring all her movements, just in case he tried to do anything out of hand.
Natasha turned to Dmitry after fifteen minutes, “she’s having an autoimmune disorder.”
“I don’t care what she’s having. Just ensure she stops falling sick,” Dmitry said. Natasha could see how pained he was, it was like this had been happening for a long time.
“For how long has this been?”
“Didn’t you read her files before taking on the job of attending to her?” Dmitry asked with a stern look, “Are you going to keep asking me questions or do something about her case?”
“If you want me to help your daughter heal, you have to be calm and respectful. I’m not your slave, okay? I’m a doctor here and I can help. If you are going to keep acting this way to me, I can just leave and let someone else take over.” Natasha bursted out.
Dmitry wasn’t expecting such an outburst. He huffed and didn’t say any more words.
Natasha turned back to Rose and then reconfirmed her suspicion then she turned to Dmitry, “This may not sound great but I advise you keep more eye on your daughter. She’s being slowly poisoned by someone.”
“And from what I see, it has been going on for a long time and that’s the cause of the autoimmune disorder. Her immune system is growing weak,” Natasha said.
“She’s always with her mother, there’s no way anyone will poison her under her watch,” Dmitry said.
“Are you certain that’s her mother?” Natasha asked.
Dmitry frowned, “what are you talking about?” His voice was no longer loud and full of frustration like it was.
“I do not mean to intrude on family matters, Mr. Dmitry but as a professional doctor, can you take the advise I’m about to give?” Natasha asked.
Dmitry wasn’t having what Natasha said, he looked away from her wondering why she had doubted if Ruby were the kid’s mother.
Although he had lost his memory, there is evidence that made him believe Ruby is the mother of the kids. He had watched her care and labored greatly over the kids, an act only a mother can do.
“You should perform a secret DNA test on the mother and the kids.” Natasha said.
“How does what you are insinuating help my daughter’s case?” Dmitry asked. He was more interested in getting Rose to be fully healed than knowing whether Ruby is truly the mother of his kids or not.
“If she’s not the mother, that may explain why she’s poisoning the kid.”
“It seems you have a problem with her cause you sounded so sure.” Dmitry stood and then said to her, “get out!”
Natasha looked at her daughter with sour heart once more before she eventually walked away.
On getting to Gen’s office, she asked him to excuse her and he did. Natasha broke down into tears and cried for another five minutes. Afterwards, she felt a little better. It hurts so bad that she can’t protect her kids. Why in the world is Ruby trying to kill the kids?
She needed to save her kids as soon as possible?
Whereas, at Zara’s newly purchased mansion, she received a visitor in person of her daughter, Ruby.
“Oh Ruby, you didn’t tell me you were coming?” Zara asked. As she was in the middle of something, she was wearing shorts and a brassier.
From her scent, Ruby asked, “mom… A man is here, right?”
“Of course. That I’m old doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy myself. This is why you must inform me whenever you want to come to my place,” Zara said.
Ruby sighed.
“Come in,” Zara led her to the living room and gestured for her to sit. “What’s the matter?”
“Natasha is alive, mom.”
Zara’s eyes fell off, “you are not serious.”
“I’m very serious. She came to the house we anonymously sold to Dmitry. I’m scared she will ruin everything we’ve worked hard for.”
Zara’s heart began to beat faster than normal, her legs began to shiver.
“Mom, I thought you said she’s dead?”
“Of course.” Zara answered. She said regretfully, “I should have burnt her body alive when I had the chance.”
Zara suddenly clenched her fist in rage, “I’m killing that bitch for real this time.”
“Mom, can we do that fast?”
“I’ll send men to assassinate her tonight. Her existence is too dangerous for us,” Zara said.
Ruby’s heart continued to beat heavily. She was so scared. Her palms were literally full of sweat. “And it seems the kids will never die.”
She added, “I’ve always been adding that portion you provided for me to their food since they were two, now these kids are six and they are still alive.”
“Are you a fool? If they die early, do you think Dmitry will have the moral to still marry you? We both know Dmitry never really likes you, it’s because of the kids he kept you. He had successfully engaged you and that’s because of the kids. The marriage has also been fixed, that’s also because of the kids.” Zara said.
She continued, “we need to let the children’s death appear natural and most importantly, to happen after he had married you. What the portion does is to keep weakening their immune system so that their immune system won’t have the ability to fight off sicknesses.”
“But the kids won’t make it to ten years, I’m sure of that.” Zara said.
“Another four years is too long for the kids to live, mother. Once I marry Dmitry and he sleeps with me, I’m killing those kids immediately.”
“Don’t be too irrational, Ruby. At least kill them after you have your own baby. Otherwise, Dmitry can divorce you easily like he did in the past. We must be wise now.”
“It’s just that those kids disgusts me always. Mom, you don’t know what it means to pretend you love them when you actually feel like murdering them,” Ruby said.
“Don’t worry, it’s only a matter of time. Let me deal with Natasha firstly.” Zara said.
