Natasha woke up to a throbbing headache, she immediately placed her hand on her head, taking in the pain slowly. Took a while before she was able to adjust her sight to the light in the room.
Taking a slow glance at the room, she noticed the room is a beautiful one, only that she was the only one here and she didn’t know what house she was in. Her heart hurts when she remembers that Pavel had knocked her unconscious. To even think that she took Pavel as a friend and trusted him to an extent.
She stood and then walked sluggishly to the window, she slid open the glassy window and then noticed that the ground was too far from the room she was in. It was like she was on the top floor of a skyscraper.
Her heart raced. She was yet to reckon in her heart that Pavel kidnapped her. Do people kidnap others and force them to marry? Is she in crying sun now? She searched for her phone but couldn’t even find it.
She then walked towards the door and attempted to open it, to her surprise, the door gave way. She thought she was probably locked up. As soon as she was out of the room, she saw a strange face appear. The person immediately made a radio call, speaking inaudibly into the radio.
Natasha walked towards him anyway, “where am I?”
“Natasha,” someone called from afar. She turned and saw Pavel stepping down from the stairs. His face shone like the morning sun and he looked even more glamorous.
Natasha walked up to him angrily, “so this is who you truly are, a kidnapper masquerading as a doctor.”
“I’m sorry things had to turn out this way. I really value our friendship but I’m sorry I can’t let you get hurt.” He said. “I need you to pretend like we are cool, okay? My father will soon be here.”
“I’ll reveal the entire truth to him, we are not dating , we are only friends. He needs to know.” Natasha said.
“I do not think you will dare, Natasha,” Pavel said and brought out his phone, then showed her a video playing on the phone, it was that of her kids in an unfamiliar room. “How petty are you, to think you can threaten me with my kids. You will even hurt innocent kids? I do not think there is any difference between you , my stepmother and stepsister.”
Pavel sighed, “all this will be over soon,” he tried to hold her hand but Natasha swiftly moved back. “don’t dare to touch me.”
“Oh my days! See who we have here,” Appeared Mr. Jucef and ten other people, comprising of men and women of his age. All dressed corporately.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please meet my son’s fianceé,” Mr. Jucef introduced Natasha to the dignitaries that came with him. They all exchanged cool greetings with Natasha.
Natasha hated everything about this place but she had to pretend. If Pavel can force her here then he may even hurt her kids if she did not cooperate.
“Pavel, you did well this time. My friends came with me cause I’m throwing a pre engagement party for both of you. Bug firstly, go to the bureau and get your marriage certificate, I’ll handle both the engagement party and the wedding party.” Mr. Jucef said.
“Sure, father.” Pavel said and then held Natasha’s hand cutely and both adults began to walk out of their presence like a couple in love.
Natasha remained quiet until they were inside the car, as Pavel began to drive, she asked, “can I at least have my phone?”
Pavel dipped his hand inside his pocket and handed it over to her, “I’ll advise you don’t make a big deal out of what is happening. Once the marriage certificate is signed and we attend the pre engagement party my father is throwing, I’ll personally return you to Leaf City.”
“Okay.” Natasha said and then went ahead to text Naomi, “hey Naomi, Pavel kidnapped me. He’s forcing me to marry him, he’s currently taking me to sign the marriage certificate, once I do, I’ll be trapped for life. Please find a way to save me.”
Naomi’s response came a few seconds later, “oh my days! I’ve tried your number several times but was unable to reach you. It’s no wonder I’ve been seeing some strange faces stalking me whenever I go out. Where are you at the moment?”
Natasha immediately responded with a link to her life location, “received. I’m on it.”
Truth is, Naomi was just a poor nanny on less than three thousand dollars salary, how could she help? But there was one person she believed could help, that was Dmitry. But she had severed her relationship with him by showing her anger when he was trying to forcefully perform a DNA test on the kids.
Then she immediately carried the kids, one in her left hand and the other carefully placed in her back, she immediately took a cab to the Pushkin’s mansion, ready to try her luck. As soon as she stepped down, she saw a lady walking out with more than eight bodyguards. The lady looked like a powerful figure despite being young.
When the lady sighted Titiana before the mansion, she walked up to her with her guards trailing behind, “do you need something, madam?”
“I want to see Mr. Dmitry, please. Tell him Naomi is here to see him.”
“I don’t know any Naomi, are you trying to seduce my brother?” Asked the lady.
“Not at all. But I need his help, just tell him Natasha is in danger.”
At the mention of Natasha’s name, Titiana’s eyes fluttered, “Natasha? What danger?”
“Someone kidnapped her and took her to Crying Sun, attempting to forcefully marry her.” Naomi reported.
“Do people still do that in this century? Forcing people to marry them? That’s insane,” Titiana said with a frown then placed a call across to Dmitry but he didn’t answer it.
Dmitry was at the moment about to go for a business meeting outside of his city when Yuri quickly spoke with urgency, “sir, miss. Titiana wants to speak with you, she said it’s urgent.”
He collected the phone from Yuri and as he stepped up the plane, he asked, “what’s the matter, Titiana? We departed barely an hour ago.”
“Natasha is in danger at Crying Sun. I have forwarded her live location to you. Please help save her.”
“Why should I save her?” Dmitry asked. Soon, he sat at the VIP seat of the private jet.
“But you promised me to marry her?”
“I never said I won’t. But I’m not married to her at the moment. By the way, thinking about marrying her now disgusts me. If she’s in danger, let her help herself out. Don’t bother yourself about such things.”
“Natasha saved my life at Crying Sun. I can’t let her get hurt. Actually, it was said that a man was trying to force her to marry him. I just found out that the man is doctor Pavel. I don’t know why he would do such a thing.”
Dmitry had always known Pavel is dangerous, even if Pavel separated himself from his family, the blood of his family still runs through him. His family is full of murderers, assassins, and drug addicts. They are like a cult.
“I warned Natasha to be careful around Pavel.” Dmitry said. “Surely, you can’t expect me to abandon my business trip for some woman.”
“She’s not some woman, Natasha is my friend. Please Dmitry, you are the only one that can save her. I don’t want her to get married to doctor Pavel.”
“Don’t bother me anymore, Titiana.” Then he hung the call up.
Yuri, who was seated on the opposite end of the VIP seat asked Dmitry, “is it an urgent matter, sir? Just give the command and I’ll immediately get to work.”
Took a while before Dmitry spoke, it was as though he was thinking about something. “I need Natasha’s live location. Tell Titiana to send it, we are heading here.”
“Got it, sir.” Yuri said.
This moment, Natasha was already at the bureau, both adults had taken photographs and were now moving to the courtroom where they will have to swear and put in their signature.
Once they were there, the marriage certificate was brought over. Natasha, having received news that Dmitry insisted he will never help her, knew she must not continue to cooperate with Pavel, lest anything bad happens to her kids.
Pavel was the first to put his signature, Natasha picked up the pen, about to put in his signature, her phone began to vibrate. Seeing that the caller ID was Naomi, she answered, “Natasha, good news. Dmitry had agreed to help. Please don’t make any foolish decision.” Naomi said in an elated voice.
“Okay,” Natasha then brought the call to an end. She had excused herself and taken a few steps away from Pavel when she was about to answer the call.
“I won’t be able to sign this.” Says Natasha.
The lawyer before the couple said, “didn’t you guys have an agreement before coming here?”
“He’s forcing me, I do not intend to marry him,” Natasha said to the lawyer. But the lawyer knew Pavel to be the son of the most dangerous man in the city. A man that had killed hundreds of important people in the city for daring to go against him.
The judge could only keep quiet as he didn’t want to get into trouble, his gaze now on Pavel who had a furious look on his face.
Pavel slapped her right there. That came as a surprise to both Natasha and everyone around there. All those who had set their gaze on the ‘couple’ immediately took their faces away as soon as they identified Pavel’s identity.
