I’m Sorry, Natasha

Book:Miracle Doctor And Her Hot CEO Published:2024-6-4

Yuri answered the call once Dmitry made a gesture that permitted him to answer the call. Once the call came to an end, Yuri said to Dmitry, “the doctor said he had forwarded the DNA test result to your mail, sir.”
“Take this woman out,” Dmitry commanded and immediately, Yuri led Naomi out even though she was being reluctant.
Dmitry then stood and walked up to Natasha. This time, Natasha already had her heart at the base of her throat, she almost coughed out her lungs in fear. She could feel her entire body clouded in fright.
Dmitry grabbed her by the left arm all of a sudden and said, “do you know the consequences of lying to me?”
Natasha’s eyes furrowed in shock. He had never grabbed her this way before. “Those kids are yours, aren’t they?”
Natasha was too scared to even utter a word, she just kept staring at him like a frightened little rabbit.
Dmitry then picked up his phone and opened his mail app. Natasha felt Like snatching the phone away from him but that will only make matters worse so she can only remain standing, ready for the worst to happen. She’ll probably find a way to leave the city with her kids once he finds out.
Dmitry’s heightened face suddenly fell as he pressed his eyes on the screen of his phone. Then he took steps back away from her and sat. It had been said in the DNA result that he has 0 percent probability of being the kid’s father. His suspicion was all wrong then, he felt slightly heartbroken because he had never really been wrong. His suspicion always turns out to be true except this one.
Natasha felt like a miracle had happened, perhaps, the DNA had claimed he wasn’t the father. “I would have immediately commanded you to move in assuming the kids are mine.” There was a hint of disappointment in his voice.
“My apologies.” Hearing him apologize made Natasha feel like she was dreaming. Apparently, a miracle had happened.
“I believe you’ll stay away from Naomi and her kids now?” Natasha asked.
“I will,” answered Dmitry.
Natasha exhaled gladly, “I’ll take my leave.”
“Why did you have to come?” Asked Dmitry.
“I came because Naomi informed me you were insisting on performing a DNA test on the kids and she’s not comfortable with that,” Natasha answered.
Dmitry nodded. “I’ll have to believe you truly aborted the kids.”
“I did. If you had welcomed me then, I would have had the babies,” Natasha answered.
Natasha turned, ready to leave when Dmitry spoke, “be careful around Pavel.”
Natasha took a few seconds to swiftly think about what he just said. “Pavel? He’s my boss and my friend.”
“Sit.” Dmitry made a gesture and she sat. She was no longer anxious since the matters of the babies had been settled.
“I looked into why Pavel’s father’s meeting was interrupted by thugs,” Dmitry started. That day, Dmitry had to hold Natasha and help her escape the chaos that disrupted the meet and greet party that Mr. Jucef was holding with the top five powerful families of the city.
Natasha had also thought about it when she got home that day but she had not eventually ignored it. She didn’t even bother asking Pavel about it when they eventually met.
“When you have killers and murderers stalking you, it implies that in one way or the other, you have either offended them or they want something from you,” Dmitry continued, “Mr. Jucef is the most powerful man in Crying Sun but he didn’t rise to power legitimately, he’s into hard drugs and Cocaine. The companies he has are only a cover up for his illegal business.”
Natasha was shocked to hear that, “are you… looking out for me?”
“I was. I thought that those twins could be yours and if that were true , I wouldn’t want the mother of my babies to get hurt.” Dmitry said. “I only think you should know.”
Natasha exhaled. “I’ll be careful. Thank you.” Then she stood when there was nothing more to discuss and walked out.
As soon as she walked out, she called Naomi on the phone, “hey Naomi, are you almost home?”
“I’m home already with the kids and we are all fine.” Answered Naomi.
“Okay, I should be home soon too,” she said and then brought the call to an end.
Immediately after she was done placing an order, she began to walk towards a public shed where she could await the Uber man. Surprisingly, a car appeared before her and when the window came down, it turned out to be Pavel.
“Come in,” Pavel gestured.
Natasha hesitated. It’s because she still had what Dmitry told her about Pavel’s father in her head plus was Pavel lurking around before? How did he suddenly know she was done with Dmitry and then appeared.
But overall, Pavel is a friend so she entered. “Going home, right?” Pavel asked.
“Yes but how did you know I’m done here?” Asked Natasha.
Pavel’s lips raised a little, he glanced at her with an unreadable expression and said, “I’m keeping tabs on you, Natasha.”
“And why is that?” Natasha asked. “Are you stalking me?”
“You may think you are safe but trust me, you aren’t. My father put you in danger by announcing you were my fiancée.”
“You know that if I fake being your fianceé, I’ll be in danger yet you persuaded me to,” Natasha said with a frown.
“I didn’t know that my father’s enemies would be here. I know he has many enemies at Crying Sun, I just didn’t expect for them to trail him here.” Pavel said.
“Talking of your father, why does he have many enemies?” Natasha asked. Of course, Dmitry had already told her that Mr. Jucef is a drug Lord but she only wanted to hear Pavel say it out.
“I can’t tell you.” Pavel said as he continued driving. “It’s better for you not to know some stuff.”
“In that case, we’ll stop being friends.”
“My father’s enemies will come at you and destroy you and everything you have. In Fact, we should make it real now.” Pavel said.
“Make what real?”
“I can be a better father to your kids, Natasha. I think we can understand each other and live together in peace and harmony should we get married. Only if we get married can my father’s enemies stop being after you.” Pavel explained.
“That doesn’t make any sense. They are after me cause I’m your ‘fiancée, why will they stop being after me once I’m your wife.”
“We have codes of honors in our world. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you more about it now cause it’s not a world I want you and your kids to live in. This is one of the reasons why I left Crying Sun to live as a nobody here.” Pavel said.
“Do you love me?” Natasha asked him.
“Not yet. How about you?”
“I only consider you as a friend.” Came Natasha’s reply.
“Love isn’t what upholds a marriage. Many had divorced months after their marriage even though they were head over heels themselves before marriage. We do not need love, we just need to understand and trust each other. And if at all someday, we can’t understand each other anymore, we can file for divorce with no one getting hurt.” Says Pavel.
“I’ll have to decline your offer, Pavel. I can’t date you talkless of marrying you. And it’s not even because neither of us have love, it’s because I just don’t want to. As for being protected, I’ll pay Kenji in cash tomorrow and he will officially resume protecting me. You need not bother yourself about me, okay?”
Pavel didn’t say any more word until his car came to a halt, and that was before Natasha’s lodge.
“Kenji is powerful but he still can’t protect you.” Pavel insisted.
“I just said I can’t marry you, please forget it. It’s so cringe,” says Natasha. Her hand was already on the doorknob ready to open it. One could tell she had become impatient and was ready to step out of the car as soon as possible.
“My father had also insisted we get married. Natasha, did you not want me to help in taking revenge against your Stepmother and Stepsister?” Pavel asked.
“I’ll have revenge myself. If you continue to make mention of marriage, I’ll have to sever our friendship,” Natasha said and opened the door but before she could take a step, Pavel grabbed her by the arm.
“I’m taking you to Crying Sun tonight, and we’ll go to the Civil Bureau tomorrow and sign the marriage certificate afterwards, I’ll bring you back here to Leaf City while we await our grand wedding,” Pavel said.
Natasha almost scoffed but she didn’t feel comfortable with him holding her. It was his first time holding her and it’s so uncomfortable. Dmitry had once grabbed her in the arm, although that of Dmitry came all of a sudden, she felt at peace with it. Dmitry’s touch carries such a great lovely sensation that she even desires more of his touch. But that of Pavel is quite the opposite.
“You must be dreaming,” Natasha said and tried to pull his hand off her arms but he was stronger than her and his grip remained tight on his arm.
“I’m sorry, Natasha,” he said and brought out a handkerchief then he forced it towards the direction of her nose. As soon as Natasha inhaled whatever was on the handkerchief, she slowly lost consciousness of her environment. She struggled to stay conscious but the effect of whatever she inhaled was stronger than her will.
