After Natasha was done with work the following day, she proceeded outside. While approaching the Uber she had ordered to take to the hospital that her father was in, Pavel appeared.
“Hey.”
Natasha paused and turned to him, “Hi.”
When Pavel got before him, “going home?”
“No. My father is sick, I want to check him at the hospital.” She replied truthfully.
“Why don’t I drive you?” Pavel offered.
Natasha accepted after a few seconds. While they were inside the car, Pavel was the one driving while Natasha sat on the seat that was right beside that of the driver.
“Pardon me, but why did you suddenly want to help me?” Natasha asked curiously.
“I’m your boss, Natasha. I don’t need any reason to help you,” Pavel said. “By the way, how is your relationship with Violet?”
“She said she did not believe the forged CV I had submitted and that she was investigating.” Natasha said. Pavel had helped her forge her CV and her certificate to make it look like she was a medical professional. “You know Dmitry must never find out.”
“Both of our careers are on the line, I know. I’ll see how I can tame her,” Pavel assured Natasha.
Soon, Pavel pulled over his car at the underground garage of the hospital. Both adults were soon out of the car and were inside the hospital, approaching the ward that Lewis Ivan is.
When they got to the ward, Natasha was surprised that her father wasn’t here anymore. She immediately went in search of the doctor in charge of his case, “I can’t find my father in his ward.”
“Your father? May I know his name please?” The doctor asked and after Natasha had spelled out Lewis’s name, the doctor looked through the file and then looked up at Natasha and said, “oh! He left.”
“What do you mean by he left? The person I’m talking about is stroke paralyzed. Did a miracle suddenly happen?”
“A few minutes after you left, one Mr. Peller came to check up on him and in two hours, your father was already on his feet. I don’t know how he did that.” The doctor said.
“Are you saying he left here with Mr. Peller?”
‘”Truth is, your father is not yet discharged but I received news from one of the nurses that he left when no one was watching,” the doctor said. “I think he should be home. I have lots of things to do, if you will excuse me.” Then the doctor walked away.
Natasha looked at Pavel as though Pavel had a better explanation to what was going on but Pavel only remained quiet. Natasha then placed a call across to her father, while the phone rang, she could not help but wonder how her father got better in hours. What sort of miracle could that be?
Then the phone got answered, “Father, where are you?”
Took a while before the person on the other end spoke, “you are truly a miracle doctor, Natasha.”
Natasha grasped the identity behind the voice at once. “Zara? What are you doing with my father’s phone?”
“I’m his new wife, remember?” Zara asked.
“Mistress! His mistress is all you will ever be cause I can’t remember when he put a ring in your finger. Where’s my father? Pass the phone over to him,” Natasha commanded.
“I’ve kept him. Forget about ever seeing him again,” says Zara.
She scoffed. “Is he like an object that you can keep or what?”
“Not just your father, I kept that blind old man that tried to get him better too.” Zara said. “Natasha, don’t blame me. It’s just that I need money. I want your father’s properties to be mine as soon as possible and that can only happen after his death.”
Natasha switched the call to a loud speaker so that Pavel can now hear, “If anything happens to my father, I’ll find you and your bitch daughter and kill the both of you.”
“We ended your mother’s life and you couldn’t even do anything. I advise you to stop with the threat otherwise, I may be coming for you and your bastard twin.” Then she ended the call. These last words of Zara were the only words that Pavel heard.
“Who is that?” Pavel asked as they walked out of the hospital.
Natasha’s mind had become so distressed. “My stepmother kidnapped my two fathers.”
“You’ve got two fathers?” Pavel questioned.
“One is my biological father, the second is the one that accommodated me some time ago, he’s actually the one who taught me traditional medicine.” Natasha said very sadly. “I want to murder Zara alive right now.”
Soon, both adults were inside Pavel’s car.
“Pavel, your father is the most powerful man in Crying Sun City, can you use his influence to help me take revenge on my stepmother and stepsister?” She asked. For she knew she can’t take them on alone. She needs the help of someone powerful.
“I’ll help,” Pavel assured. “Afterall, you helped me heal from my long-time illness.”
Natasha nodded. In a few hours, Pavel dropped Natasha at her lodge.
When she got home, she was unsurprised to see that Naomi and the kids were home. For they would have been at the Pushkin’s mansion. Dmitry had requested for their presence.
As for Naomi coming along with the father of the babies, Natasha had asked Naomi to say to Dmitry that she and the father aren’t on good terms and that the father is in fact not in this continent. Natasha can only hope that Dmitry wouldn’t pressure Naomi further.
She had barely settled when her phone chirped, seeing that it was from Natasha, she immediately answered it, “hey Naomi, how is it going?”
“There’s a problem.”
“What’s wrong?” Natasha’s heart began to beat heavily against her rib cage.
“Mr. Dmitry said that his assistant, Mr. Yuri believed that the kids may be his and hence, he was going to call a doctor over to collect blood samples of the babies so that a DNA test can be performed.” Explained Naomi.
“What!” Natasha screamed in fear. “He’s their father. The DNA test will definitely prove that he’s the father of the kids. We must not let him perform it.” Natasha said.
“What do we do? Any attempt I make to stop him from performing a DNA test will make him even more suspicious,” Naomi said.
“As the twin mother, insist that you will never let the blood sample of your twin be taken.”
“I can do that but you know Mr. Dmitry is one powerful being. He will do whatever he wants to do irrespective of my protest.”
“Threaten him, just do anything, show your anger. Naomi listen, he must never perform the DNA,”says Natasha with a beating heart.
Naomi was quiet for a while then she spoke, “so what if he performs the DNA test, he finds out the kids are his. Will he take them from you? I doubt it since the kids are still too young. He will even pamper you as the mother of his kids. I personally didn’t see any cogent reason as to why you wouldn’t let him know he’s the kid’s father.”
“You can’t hide that revelation from him forever, can you?” Asked Naomi.
“I will reveal it at the right time. I have my reasons for not wanting him to know so please do as I say or I will never forgive you.”
“Miss Naomi, Mr. Dmitry is waiting for you in the living room with the doctor. We need you to be there while the blood samples of the twin are being taken,” the person who spoke was Yuri.
Natasha surely heard that on the phone. “Naomi, will you do as I’ve said?” Natasha yelled on the phone.
“I’ll try,” Naomi then brought the phone to an end and at once, she followed after Yuri.
Natasha became unsettled. She stood from the bed and walked out. Prior, she had bathed and wanted to sleep but she did not dare anymore. Will Naomi betray her or do as she had requested.
After thinking about it for minutes, she immediately ordered an Uber that took her straight to the Pushkin’s central mansion. On getting there, the security guards wouldn’t let her in since they didn’t receive news that a guest in the name of Natasha was coming.
Natasha however remained obstinate, she was not ready to leave unless she entered so the head of the security men had no choice but to put a call across to Yuri, “sir, we have someone with the name or Natasha Ivan, she claimed she wanted to see the boss.”
After a few seconds of Yuri’s expected silence, he said to the head of guards, “let her in.”
Natasha immediately sped inside as soon as the guards permitted her, she soon found her way to the central living room, she saw Naomi standing before Dmitry.
Yuri was standing close to the door.
As soon as Natasha was in, she set her gaze on Naomi, “hey.”
Naomi looked at her and said, “I told Mr. Dmitry the kids aren’t his as I know for sure who the father of my baby is but he insisted. The doctor forcefully took the blood sample of my twin.” Naomi began to cry. “Mr. Dmitry, please let me go and I’ll never appear before you again.”
She added fearfully, “And please… don’t come to my twin and I again.”
Natasha looked at Dmitry, who sat very calmly, trying to control her anger, she inhaled for so long and then exhaled all at once. “This is unfair!”
Yuri walked closer and said, “please mind the way you speak to Mr. Dmitry. He’s only acting on my advice so if you need to pour your anger on someone, it should be me.”
Natasha knows she can’t be here, she needs to find whoever the doctor is and plead with him to manipulate the result but how will she do that?
Just then, Yuri’s phone rang and then he looked at the screen of the phone, “oh, it’s the doctor calling.”
