Back at Leaf City, Yuri sat before Dmitry’s desk, right in his study room and continued reporting, “Titiana was immediately returned as soon as they found out she was your sister.”
Yuri continued, “the leader of these men’s cartel had written to us, apologizing for his men’s misdeed. But at your order, we can start a war. We can let even powerful families at Crying Sun know that the Pushkin’s family in Leaf City are not to be toyed with.”
“Titiana is alive and won’t have any reason to ever go to Crying Sun again. I’ll let it pass.” Dmitry said to Yuri’s surprise.
“How about the trauma they had experienced during the few hours of her kidnap?” Yuri asked. He knew for certainty that Dmitry never lets anyone go unpunished. He’s ruthless and merciless.
“Titiana had gone through worse.” Dmitry said and changed the topic, “Natasha said the man that came to attack Mr. Peller looks familiar in stature, investigate who the person is and give me feedback before tomorrow runs out.”
“Got it. And talking of Natasha, will you really go ahead and marry her? Seeing that you have promised Titiana.” Asked Yuri.
“I wonder why everyone wants you to marry her. As if it’s some sort of trophy. Firstly, your grandfather, then Titiana and then Mr. Peller. Could she be the one persuading these people?” Asked Yuri.
“I saw a dagger in her hand when while she was kneeling before Titiana, I asked why she had a dagger on, she claimed it was dropped beside Titiana by the men that returned her. Those men couldn’t have mistakenly dropped a dagger behind by mistake after dropping Titiana off,” Dmitry let out his thoughts.
“If you will let me investigate her, I may find out useful information about her. Perhaps, there’s more to her than we know.” Yuri said.
“Go ahead,” Dmitry said and dismissed him. There was no sign of Titiana being stabbed neither are there signs of Mr. Peller being stabbed, the dagger on the floor could indeed have dropped from the men who dropped off Titiana, since those who dropped off Titiana were rushing . Dmitry concluded.
For a very long time, he had had his heart shut. It’s like he had permanently locked it up and threw the key into the abyss. Marriage is not in his curriculum for he naturally dislikes the opposite sex unless of course they are family members.
However, he picked up his iPad and logged into his Instagram account then searched for Natasha’s name but nothing was forthcoming. Personally, he barely uses Instagram, he has a social media manager that manages all his social media accounts.
Perhaps, if she reads some stuff about her, she could get to know her better. Then decided to inform Yuri to get him Natasha’s social media account. About to exit Instagram, he found out Instagram suggested some accounts to follow for him. Glancing through the profile pictures of each account, his eyes caught a familiar face and then he clicked on the account.
There was it, Natasha’s Instagram account. She had used a nickname rather than her actual name. He then began to do what he had never imagined himself doing – scrolling through the Instagram account of the opposite sex.
He began to see the numerous pictures she took. Now that he observed the pictures clearly, he can attest to the fact that Natasha is beautiful. Why had he not noticed her beauty before? Well, he hadn’t necessarily paid her attention. He barely even look at her face.
The shape of her face, how her nose is, the shape of her mouth, the color of her eyes, the way she smiles, the way she laughs in the uploaded videos, everything… just everything about her appealed to him.
So there are still women as beautiful as … he thought. She’s a beauty to behold, there’s no pretending about it. Yet, she is not married. Did she perhaps have a boyfriend?
He hadn’t necessarily looked into her so he didn’t know much about her. In fact , there was a particular fifty seconds clip taken five years ago where she was seen dancing. He found himself rewatching the video up to five times.
He will wait for Yuri to submit whatever he had found about her before he knows what to do as regarding the woman.
A knock then landed on his door and he spoke, “come in.”
Titiana walked in and said, “brother, I told Titiana to come and pay me a visit but someone is beating her two houses away from here.”
Dmitry stood at once and walked towards the door but Titiana locked it quickly.
“What are you doing?”
“I don’t want you to go. It’s her fight, let her handle it.” Titiana said, looking into her brother’s enraged face.
“Those who dare to lay hands on her will be buried today.” He said with a clean bed fist.
“It’s a prank,” she giggled. “Natasha isn’t around. I only want to see your reaction.”
“Since when did you start pranking me?” Dmitry frowned a little.
“Since I got better, big brother,” Titiana held his big palms playfully and swung it.
Dmitry huffed, “don’t dare to prank me again.” His tone was serious but Titiana was unmoved.
“You didn’t even do anything to the men who kidnapped me at Leaf City. You told Yuri you’ll let it pass but as soon as you heard some people bullying Natasha, you already want to have them buried.” She left his big palms and folded her arms. “There has to be an explanation.”
“I have stuff to do.” Dmitry opened the door and began to walk away but Titiana followed. “Are you already thinking about her, big brother?”
Dmitry huffed and paused, then turned to her, “I told you I’ll marry her.” He added, “at my convenience, so what are you bothering yourself for?”
“Who says I’m bothering myself. I’m only saying, while the over four billion women in the world disgust you, Natasha begs to be different.”
Dmitry dipped his hand inside his breast pocket and brought out his black card, then he stretched it to her, “Get whatever you need.”
Titiana took the card sharply from him and said, “I’ll treat Natasha to dinner and invite you.”
“I won’t attend.” Dmitry began to walk away.
“When are you marrying her? At your convenience, yes but I need a precise time.” Titiana’s loud voice trailed after Dmitry even as he continued walking away, he didn’t reply and soon, he was out of sight.
Whereas, at the hospital that Lewis Ivan was, Zara had disguised herself as a nurse and was now approaching the ward that Lewis is in. The plan was to send him to his early grave so she and her daughter could take all that belonged to him. For she never loved him, he was only a means to get what she wanted.
When Zara appeared at the ward, he noticed that Lewis’s body was still. His face had also become so pale. He looked pathetic but she didn’t care. She walked towards the solution container that was connected to the IV catheter and disconnected it then she replaced it with the new solution container in her hand.
Only that what was inside the container wasn’t normal saline, it was viper venom, a very poisonous substance that kills in five hours.
Immediately she was done, about to turn to leave, the door opened. Her heart raced on seeing Natasha as she was still holding the replaced plastic container.
She lowered her head in an attempt to cover her face and began to walk out. Natasha didn’t pay much attention to her, she was walking swiftly towards her father big as soon as she passed her side, she instinctively turned back only to see the nurse walking speedily away.
“Please wait!” Natasha called. It was as if she recognized the person but instead of feeding her to Natasha’s requests, the ‘nurse’s walk’ increased and was soon out of sight.
Natasha wondered why the nurse was acting suspicious, then she turned to her father and her heart bleed on seeing how slow and shallow her father’s breath was. “Father…” She held him by the left arm, please stay alive.” Her eyes had become very teary.
Although Mr. Peller came with her to the city, he didn’t agree to stay with her in her house so she had to keep going to where he lodged to learn. She had beseeched the man to come and treat her father but the blind old man had said he was too weak to administer healing and it was the truth, administering healing takes lots from him, he may just pass out.
Titiana may be the last patient he will treat in his lifetime. As for how Titiana can treat a stroke case, it will take time for her to learn how to and it seems her father didn’t have much time by his side.
“Father, are you okay?” Natasha asked but she barely got a response. As Lewis Ivan struggles to speak. Natasha knew she needed to meet with Mr. Peller and beseech him to immediately begin teaching her how to treat her father’s illness.
She felt bad for her father despite how cruel he had been to her. She then said to him, “I’m looking for a solution to get you up on your feet. I’ll come back soon. Please stay strong.” Although she didn’t get a response from her father, she turned from him and began to walk away from the ward.
As soon as she walked away, Zara, who was yet to vacate the hospital’s premises, immediately found her way inside Lewis Ivan’s ward. She had already confirmed that Natasha had left. She soon confirmed that the solution container she replaced with the viper venom medicine had not been tampered with.
“Good!” She mumbled to herself and then checked her wrist watch. For in five hours, she was hundred percent certain that Lewis Ivan will be a thing of the past.
