100-year-old Strou Drein red ginseng, worth 400, 000? That was 10, 000 more than what Flynn said!
“That’s enough to buy a house next to Robinbrandt Residence. Looks like we are all ignorant.”
“Harriet has only been working for two days and the boss already gave her such an expensive gift. So generous!”
“I was already surprised when Dr. Jacks gave her a Northeastern mountain ginseng worth 30, 000. But Ms. Sharp gave three red ginsengs worth a total of 400, 000 dollars!”
Everyone was shocked by the value of the gift and their expressions changed dramatically.
They were all from ordinary families with salaries of only a few thousand per month. Seeing Harriet receive such an expensive gift made them envious.
It was amazing that she received such an expensive gift with just one slap!
This also confirmed Rose’s sincerity and left everyone speechless.
Gabriel looked confused.
What was going on? Was this “carrot” really worth that much?
“Flynn, this is too valuable; I can’t accept it…” Harriet was also shocked and grateful beyond words.
Amanda was her best friend who had been helping out at her family’s pharmacy since childhood. If she said this red ginseng was worth 400, 000 then it must be true!
Oh my god! She had only been working at Energence Pharmaceuticals for two days and had been bullied by Kamari; Rose not only fired him but also sent someone to visit her with such an expensive gift!
Thinking about this made her eyes teary with emotion.
“Yeah! Flynn, you take the gift back and tell Ms. Sharp that we appreciate it but it’s too much for us to accept,” Odin said in shock as well.
Harriet was just a new employee who had been beaten up by the vice president; if Rose didn’t care or simply apologized for what happened, there would be no one daring enough to say anything about it.
But not only did she fire Kamari but she also sent such an expensive gift which really touched people’s hearts.
Flynn smiled faintly, “This is Ms. Sharp’s heartfelt gesture; what does taking it back mean?”
“It’s just a gesture of goodwill so don’t worry too much about its value. Keep it!”
After speaking he put the gift directly on the table.
“Harriet, you have got yourself a great boss here so make sure you work hard and don’t let down Ms. Sharp!” Odin turned his head towards Harriet saying these words.
“Hmm,” Harriet nodded vigorously in agreement.
Gabriel saw this and his expression turned cold as he snorted lightly, “Harriet got hit at Energence Pharmaceuticals so she should get whatever valuable gifts come along! There isn’t anything to thank anyone for.”
Without hesitation, Flynn turned to Harriet and said, “Harriet, I came here not only to visit your grandfather but also to treat him. Let’s get started!”
Everyone quickly chimed in, “Yes, Harriet! Dr. Jacks is the head acupuncturist at Niarak Hospital.”
“Your grandfather can’t even get out of bed because of his herniated disc. Let him take a look!”
“But Flynn also came here to treat Grandpa…” Harriet looked at Flynn with uncertainty.
Rose claimed that Flynn could heal her grandfather, but she had never seen his skills and was skeptical.
The head of security and a doctor seemed like an unlikely pair.
Everyone was stunned by this revelation.
A security guard treating illnesses? It just didn’t make sense.
Why would someone who could earn so much money as a doctor choose to be a security guard if he really knew how to cure diseases?
Odin looked at Flynn with suspicion and asked, “You never went to college; how did you learn medicine?”
Flynn smiled faintly. “I learned some medical skills from an old man over the past ten years.”
This statement made everyone laugh out loud.
“An old man? Was he one of those unlicensed quacks who thinks they can cure people with primitive methods?”
“He never went to college yet thinks he can heal people using folk remedies? That’s ridiculous!”
“Ms. Sharp should spend some money on hiring real doctors if she wants Harriet’s grandfather cured instead of relying on a security guard for treatment.”
Everyone thought this situation was absurd.
Her grandfather’s herniated disc had already compressed his nerves severely; it was considered extremely serious.
He had been taking medicine for many years without any improvement despite visiting six major hospitals.
How could someone who hadn’t even gone through college possibly cure him?
Gabriel laughed too, “Harriet, don’t take what he said seriously; it’s just polite talk.”
“He hasn’t gone through college and has only learned from an unlicensed practitioner; do you really think he knows anything about medicine?”
“I’ve already examined your grandpa’s condition thoroughly. Although it is severe, it isn’t beyond my capabilities since I have treated worse cases before,” Gabriel added confidently while others joined in the conversation, “What Dr. Jacks says is true! Flynn is just being polite when saying that he’ll try treating your grandpa.”
“You shouldn’t have taken what he said seriously! He hasn’t even attended university yet claims that he knows how treat illnesses.”
“Dr. Jacks is the real deal while all we know about this guy is he’s worked as a security guard!”
Odin furrowed his brow slightly then patted down gently on Flynn’s shoulder saying, “Let Dr. Jacks handle this one.”
“The art has its own specialization, and Dr. Jacks is quite skilled in treating lumbar disc herniation.”
Seeing everyone questioning, Flynn said indifferently, “If Dr. Jacks can cure it, then let him handle it!”
He didn’t want to waste time arguing with everyone and certainly didn’t need to compete with a doctor from a small hospital.
Gabriel laughed when he heard this. “See, he doesn’t even explain, indicating he probably doesn’t know how to treat it and is just being polite.”
“Harriet, you’re too naive.”
“Can you really cure Grandpa’s illness?” Harriet asked Gabriel.
“Of course, our acupuncture has a unique theory and inherits thousands of years of experience.”
“Not like some quack doctors who think they know a few tricks and dare to treat people.”
With that, Gabriel gave Flynn a cold look and went straight to the inner room.
The group entered the bedroom, and the old man was lying on the bed, sleeping.
After Harriet woke him up, she gave a brief introduction.
The old man lay on the bed and expressed his gratitude.
His face was pale, his body very thin, and he looked especially exhausted.
The lower back pain had already affected his sleep.
Gabriel calmly said, “Mr. Hamilton, your illness is caused by an invasion of wind and cold. I’ll stimulate the acupuncture points with silver needles to expel the evil energy, and you’ll be fine.”
Saying that, he began to insert needles into the old man.
However, Flynn frowned.
According to traditional medicine, lumbar disc herniation is caused by three types: invasion of wind and cold, deficiency of the liver and kidneys, and weakness in tendons and bones. The old man clearly had a deficiency of the liver and kidneys, but Gabriel was treating it as an invasion of wind and cold, which could only alleviate the pain and not cure it.
“Well! It does feel much easier!” The old man’s eyes brightened.
“Really? Gabriel, thank you!” Harriet couldn’t believe it, looking at Gabriel with gratitude.
Gabriel smiled and said, “Mr. Hamilton had an invasion of wind and cold, and he’s fine now. Help him up and let him move around!”
This was the first time Harriet smiled at him, and he was very excited. This was the effect he wanted. Now that he had become her benefactor, their future interactions wouldn’t be so difficult!
“It’s better not to get up. If Mr. Hamilton’s condition hasn’t improved, the pain will return in less than a minute. If he falls, it will be troublesome!” Flynn suddenly spoke.
Gabriel’s needling technique was decent, and although it had no effect on the old man’s condition, it wouldn’t harm his body either. Flynn didn’t intervene further in this matter. But when it came to getting the old man out of bed, he felt compelled to offer some advice.
After all, he was Odin’s grandfather.
“Not improved? Isn’t this blatantly nonsense? Mr. Hamilton said it doesn’t hurt anymore. You’re just jealous of Gabriel’s medical skills!”
“Are you going crazy trying to prove your existence? Do you really think you can butt in on medical matters?”
“This guy is interesting. Does he think he’s a security head and can speak in any field?”
Everyone was dismissive, very disdainful.
But Harriet frowned and hesitated.
“You shocked me with your medical skills. You thought Mr. Hamilton couldn’t get better so quickly, so you said such childish things. I understand.”
“But actions speak louder than words, and I succeeded!”
Gabriel smiled proudly and helped the old man down from the ground.
