“Flynn, I’ll make you some of my signature dishes later, to show my gratitude.” Harriet linked arms with Flynn, her face filled with admiration and a bright smile.
That day when Kamari humiliated and threatened her, no one was willing to help. She felt deep despair and fear. It was Flynn who stood up against the bully and saved her from harm. He even gave Kamari a good lesson.
Harriet’s gratitude towards him was obvious.
“It’s not necessary to go through all that trouble. Let’s just go eat at the hotel later! My treat,” Flynn said nonchalantly.
Gabriel saw this scene unfold before him, feeling extremely unbalanced inside.
What the hell? Why did he get all the attention?
He had pursued Harriet relentlessly during their college days but she never gave him any attention or even acknowledged his existence. Now she was so close with a security guard?
The others also looked on in disbelief.
A security captain only earned a maximum salary of 3k per month. Even if Harriet was just an office clerk in the security department, it didn’t make sense for her to be so friendly towards someone like Flynn!
Why would she ignore the son of the Jacks family worth billions just to welcome a mere security guard captain?! This was ridiculous!
“Let me introduce you guys properly. This is Harriet’s boss and also my high school classmate, Flynn,” Odin patted Flynn on his back while smiling at everyone else around them.
Everyone forced out smiles as they nodded their heads towards Flynn before turning their gazes away from him again.
Flynn handed over his gift box containing ginseng roots into Harriet’s hands saying, “Ms. Sharp has to entertain suppliers today so she couldn’t come herself.”
“She asked me to bring this box of ginseng roots as a gift for your grandfather instead.”
Everyone gathered around curiously examining its contents closely.
The three ginseng roots in the gift box were dark brown, with fine and glossy skin, and two distinct prongs. They were quite thick compared to Codonopsis and Mountain Ginseng.
“Why does this ginseng look like this, red and swollen, like a carrot? Could it be fake?”
“Ginseng is usually white and slender, with roots like a beard. This thing doesn’t look like mountain ginseng at all!”
“I guess it’s artificially cultivated, ripened with chemical fertilizers, and of very low medicinal value. It’s probably very cheap, maybe around two to three hundred dollars.”
Flynn sneered.
These people really didn’t understand anything!
The ginseng Rose sent was the Strou Drein red ginseng, judging by its age, it was over a hundred years old, and its value was over three hundred thousand dollars.
Clearly, it was a precious medicinal herb that Rose collected before the Sharp’s Group went bankrupt.
Apologizing with three centennial Strou Drein ginsengs was more than enough sincerity!

He was about to explain, but Odin interrupted with a serious tone, “The gift may be small, but the sentiment is great. Ms. Sharp’s willingness to have Flynn bring something over shows that she respects us.”
Gabriel looked at Odin with disdain and laughed, “A boss who sends a few hundred dollars worth of gifts might as well not send anything at all.”
Turning to Harriet, he said, “Harriet, there’s no need to stay in this heartless company. Come work for my mom instead.”
Several people around them were surprised by Gabriel’s words and asked him if his family had their own company.
“Yeah,” Gabriel nodded his head. “My dad handles procurement for Myriad Dragon Merchant Guild and my mom started her own building materials company which takes orders from Myriad Dragon.”
“Wow!” someone exclaimed in amazement. “Your family must be making a fortune!”
With the backing of such a large corporation like Myriad Dragon and his father being the manager of procurement department, they could easily increase prices by even just a little bit and make millions.
“It’s not that big of a deal,” Gabriel smiled. “It’s only several tens of millions per year!”
As he spoke these words, he gave Flynn an icy glance before turning back towards Harriet.
“Harriet,” he said coldly. “Come work for Rhinowares Building Materials under my mother as an office clerk with a monthly salary of 6 thousand.”
“As soon as you arrive there, everyone will bow down before you. No need to grovel at Energence Pharmaceuticals where you have to curry favor with security head.”
Everyone around them showed envy upon hearing this.
“6 thousand per month! Oh my god! That’s almost five times what I make in five months! Dr. Jacks is so good to Harriet!”
“Harriet, you’re only making 2 thousand per month at Energence Pharmaceuticals. Why are you hesitating? You should accept right away!”
“Go work hard at Rhinowares Building Materials. It’ll be yours within two years since it’s part of such large corporation!”
Gabriel liked Harriet very much; if she accepted his pursuit, then she would become part of the the Jacks family in the future, upgrading her status! Several girls nearby were extremely envious.
Upon hearing Gabriel’s words however, Harriett didn’t look pleased, “You’ve misunderstood me,” she said firmly. “I’m not currying favor with Flynn; I’m genuinely grateful towards him.”
“Without him, I would’ve been raped two days ago.”
But Gabriel sneered, “He’s head security officer. Isn’t protecting your safety what he should do?”
After finishing, he turned to Flynn and said, “No wonder Harriet came back with a handprint on her face that day. She was beaten at Energence.”
“I don’t know how you manage your security team. Such violence happened under your watch.”
Flynn frowned and looked at Gabriel with some anger, coldly saying, “Do you know what happened?”
“What do I need to know?” Gabriel said coldly. “It’s your fault as the head of the security department if an employee is threatened.”
Seeing Gabriel’s unfounded accusations, Harriet was angry and said, “Gabriel, it’s not Flynn’s fault for what happened that day. Don’t bring it up again!”
“Also, thank you for your kindness. I’m doing well at Energence and won’t be changing jobs!”
Gabriel always liked to show off his superiority and thought he was better than others. Harriet didn’t think he was a good match.
Today he came looking for trouble with Flynn again which made Harriet dislike him even more.
Odin saw that both sides were getting heated so he quickly advised them, “Mr. Jacks, two days ago the deputy general manager of Energence bullied Harriet. It was already righteous enough of Flynn to stand up for her.”
“We’re all friends here; there’s no need to make things unpleasant.”
“The deputy general manager?” Gabriel was stunned after hearing this and sneered, “If the deputy general manager bullies female employees, then it shows Ms. Sharp has management issues!”
“Now Harriet has been beaten up but she sends over the head of security to apologize along with such a cheap gift? How tacky can she be?”
Flynn didn’t want to deal with this trash but since he kept biting back, his face couldn’t help but darken.
“Ms. Sharp just took over Energence Pharmaceuticals; she didn’t want something like this happening either.”
“And I can tell you clearly that this box of ginseng isn’t artificially grown or ripened using fertilizers.”
“It’s 100-year-old Strou Drein red ginseng worth at least three hundred thousand dollars!”
As soon as Flynn spoke these words, everyone fell silent.
“Strou Drein red ginseng? What kind of thing is that?”
“I’ve only heard about Northeastern mountain ginseng being valuable; isn’t this thing just like carrots worth three hundred thousand dollars?”
“Hmm? I remember Amanda’s family sells herbs; she must understand!”
Everyone called out for the girl who was sitting under a tree in the courtyard enjoying herself.

The girl named Amanda had a good relationship with Harriet and didn’t like Gabriel. Annoyed by the flattery directed at Gabriel from the others, she went to the courtyard feeling disgusted.
She was deeply engrossed in playing a game when everyone interrupted her, making her quite unhappy. She reluctantly glanced at the gift box and suddenly became spirited, exclaiming, “Oh my goodness, isn’t this the Strou Drein red ginseng? And it’s a hundred years old!”
