Breathing became heavier, and the movement of hands became more frantic. The beast inside Flynn was fully aroused, twisting Scarlet’s body and pressing down on her directly.
“No… no,” Scarlet pushed Flynn away and turned her back.
She wanted to continue, to truly become Flynn’s woman. But Flynn wasn’t a free man, and Scarlet didn’t dare cross that line.
Flynn’s body froze in place. It felt like he had ascended to the gates of heaven but was pulled back down by a pair of strong hands that stomped on his face twice.
Scarlet saw the frustration on Flynn’s face and smirked. “You said you’ve had countless women before me, but you looked nervous just now! Your hands were shaking!”
Flynn deflated like a balloon and rolled back to where he lay earlier, feeling more annoyed as he thought about it. He knew what Scarlet was thinking but still couldn’t shake off the discomfort.
“Are you angry? Hey! Don’t be so impatient!” Scarlet couldn’t help laughing as she kicked Flynn’s back with her small feet before lying back down. “Fortune Decoration has turned into ruins; I have to find a new decoration company tomorrow morning. Get some sleep!”
Flynn ignored her words and went out onto the balcony for some fresh air. When he returned to bed later, Scarlet had already fallen asleep soundly under moonlight shining through their bedroom window.
The white light reflected off Scarlet’s curves in her pure white pajamas as she lay there with flawless legs crossed over each other without any blemishes or imperfections visible anywhere on them at all.
Flynn sighed and lay back in his spot to sleep.
For Flynn, this night was torment.
Scarlet, on the other hand, slept soundly, even moving to his side in the middle of the night, clinging to him for a long time.
When they woke up the next day, Scarlet had her legs entwined with Flynn, hanging over him with a smile on her face. Flynn had to push her away twice before getting some space.
Flynn wasn’t in the mood to cook, so he ordered breakfast takeout for both of them and placed it on the table, standing in the courtyard lost in thought.
“What are you thinking? Your temper is really something!” Scarlet appeared beside him, lazily stretching and chuckling.
Flynn snapped out of his reverie, recalling yesterday’s events, and couldn’t help but feel irritated.
But when he saw Scarlet in a short shirt and skirt, her two slender legs in black stockings swaying gracefully, the anger in his heart surged even more.
“Nothing, just thinking about Rose!” Flynn said unkindly.
“Liar! Yesterday, you called me crazy, and now you’re thinking about her again!” Scarlet immediately got annoyed upon hearing this, playfully hammered Flynn, and raised her delicate eyebrows.
Flynn explained coldly, “You’ve got it wrong. I’m thinking about her safety!”
“Energence Pharmaceuticals is on the right track now, and we have found our distributors and suppliers.”
“Braiden must be up to something sneaky.”
“Rose’s current living situation is too unsafe. If Braiden wants to harm her, it would be easy for him.”
Scarlet suddenly realized this and her anger subsided.
Energence Pharmaceuticals had released a new drug, raised 30 billion in funding, and acquired several small companies. Their strength was not to be underestimated.
The easiest way to suppress Energence Pharmaceuticals would be to kill Rose. The Swanson family had done something similar before with Tinley; they might do it again with Rose.
“What are you going to do?” Scarlet couldn’t help but ask Flynn.
Flynn thought for a moment before replying, “I plan on buying her a new house.”
“Nathan works in security; I want him to install home protection systems in the new house that will connect with us here.”
“If anything happens there, I’ll know immediately.”
“Ahh! You’re buying her a house? Now I’m jealous!” Scarlet’s face immediately darkened as she rolled her eyes at Flynn.
Flynn couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m not giving it away for free! Once Energence Pharmaceuticals makes profits, she’ll have to pay me back!”
Scarlet still felt uneasy about how well Flynn treated Rose.
“Breakfast is getting cold; let’s eat!” Flynn didn’t want any more discussion about this topic so he sent Nathan a text message then went back into the living room directly after breakfast was finished.
Flynn wanted Scarlet wait around so he could explain everything properly after talking with Nathan later on. However, Scarlet gave him an icy look then left Thodell Mansion directly without saying anything else.
Flynn shook his head then called Harriet instead.
He found out that Harriet lived in the city slums which were the largest shantytown area of Niarak containing over 10 thousand households full of people from society’s lowest strata.
No wonder why Harriet cherished her job so much if she lived there!
Thinking about how bumpy and narrow the roads were made Flynn realize that he wouldn’t be able to drive his sports car through them easily.
He took a stroll in the garage and found a Vyrus 987 motorcycle, with a futuristic appearance that was incredibly cool.
“If I remember correctly, this motorcycle seems to be worth 4. 2 million. Who would have thought a motorcycle could be more expensive than a Lamborghini?”
“Cruz is really a motorcycle enthusiast!”
Flynn looked at the luxurious cars in the garage, their combined value exceeding 500 million, and couldn’t help but marvel.
Riding on this incredibly stylish motorcycle, Flynn descended from the Plenilune Mountain.
Yesterday, he gave Matteo a prescription and planned to go to the Kaur family first. Flynn heard the commotion as soon as he arrived at the door.
“My father is so infuriating! Why can’t he attend the celebration for the contract that Flynn fought for?”
“If he can’t go, then I won’t either! And you guys shouldn’t go either. Let them celebrate on their own!”
Matteo sat on the sofa, fuming.
“Matteo, what’s wrong with you? Madeline is the chairman. How can she not attend?”
“Besides, it’s not like we’re stopping him from going. It’s our relatives and your father who don’t like him. What can I do? If you’re angry about it, take it up with them!”
“I think it’s better if that waste of space Flynn doesn’t come anyway, then our family won’t be targeted again!” Paulina stood in the living room with her arms crossed and an angry expression.
“Without Flynn, could our family have gotten such a big order? We may not have many other skills but we certainly know how to burn bridges.” Matteo smoked his cigarette furiously.
“Mr. Kaur, please stop arguing,” Flynn said as he walked in and tried to calm everyone down with a smile.
At Paulina’s birthday party, Flynn used Marcel’s contract as leverage, forcing Frank to revoke the dividends for Charlotte’s family.
The other relatives didn’t gain any benefits either, and they must be angry.
But Flynn didn’t care at all about their anger nor did he want to participate in the celebration event.
Paulina snorted heavily and turned her head away while Madeline shook her head awkwardly; what the Kaur family had done was really unkind but there was nothing she could do about it except let things be.
“No way! That would be unfair to you. I’ll call Frank right now!”
Flynn tried changing topics quickly, “Mr. Kaur, did you take your medicine according to prescription? How do you feel?”
“What medicine?” Before Matteo could answer him, Paulina interjected coldly, “Who dares take an unknown prescription like this?”
“The medicine that Madeline had someone buy from overseas has already arrived so don’t worry about this matter anymore.”
Flynn paused, looking at the medicine bottle on the table. His brows furrowed as he thought and said, “If that’s the case, let’s preserve this ancient formula. In the future, it can be used as a negotiation tool for shares if we decide to invest in pharmaceuticals.”
“You’re crazy! Let’s go, Madeline!” Paulina clearly didn’t care much for what Flynn had suggested as she pulled Madeline out of door before driving off out of neighborhood altogether.
“A torn prescription and you want to use it to talk about stocks? Won’t people laugh at you?”
“I really don’t understand what that useless person is thinking!”
Paulina sat in the driver’s seat, pulled out the ancient formula, and became angrier as she looked at it. She opened the car window and threw it out.
The yellowed rice paper fell onto the front window of an Aston Martin. Lilia frowned unhappily and said, “Who is so rude? How dare they litter while driving!”
She slammed on the brakes, got out of the car, picked up the rice paper, and was about to throw it away when she was suddenly drawn in by its words. She couldn’t help but read them aloud, “Returning Heart Pill? What is this?”
“What?!”
“What did you say?”
“Ancient Formula Returning Heart Pill?”
Layla sitting in the car suddenly exclaimed after hearing those words.
