“Snap!”
“Damn mosquito, trying to piss me off!”
Scarlet missed again and immediately became frustrated, annoyed to the point of stomping her feet while watching the mosquito fly around tauntingly.
Flynn finally snapped out of his daze and absentmindedly rubbed his nose.
“Oh! You’re back. Help me kill that damn mosquito!” Scarlet ran over to Flynn, handing him the electric swatter and pointing at where the mosquito had landed.
Flynn handed Scarlet the takeout food and casually swatted the mosquito before plopping down on the couch.
“Wow! That was impressive!” Scarlet clapped her hands together as she sat next to Flynn, clinging onto his arm while complaining in a cute voice. “That evil mosquito was tormenting me for more than ten minutes. It almost bit me to death.”
Feeling Scarlet’s warm body temperature and admiring her adorable appearance, Flynn murmured softly in his heart: “See? Isn’t this better? Unlike Rose who only knows how to anger me like a lunatic.”
“Why did you only order one takeout meal? Did you already eat?” Scarlet asked curiously.
Flynn shrugged. “Nope! I’m full from being angry alone. Who needs food?”
“What do you mean? Who dared make you angry?” Scarlet blinked her big eyes with confusion written all over them.
Everyone knew that he couldn’t stand any provocation; if someone bullied him even slightly, he would retaliate tenfold.
Today he actually got provoked by someone else?
“It’s Rose that crazy woman,” Flynn said irritably as he recounted what happened earlier this afternoon.
Scarlet was shocked, “You hit Rose?”
“She deserved it,” Flynn replied without any remorse in his voice.
Scarlet was speechless; in her mind Rose was a strong woman who always maintained an icy demeanor like a sacred queen whom no one could offend easily, yet here was Flynn hitting her butt?!
“And also… you said King of Poison Ayden returned to Ostrad with possibly targeting Rose as his goal?” Scarlet shuddered at this thought.
Flynn shook his head calmly, “Nope. I think there must be other reasons why Ayden came back; it’s all just speculation for now.”
Ayden was currently one of the world’s most wanted criminals. There was no way he’d risk coming back just for some reward money; there must be another reason behind it all.
As for what that reason might be… they’ll have to wait until Barney investigated further before they can know anything concrete about it all.
“The King of Poison isn’t exactly known for being kind-hearted. I’ve heard rumors about how versatile he is when using poison techniques; not only does he lack humanity but also tends towards wiping out entire families… are you sure about this?” Scarlet couldn’t help but ask anxiously while feeling somewhat shocked inside too.
She had never thought Flynn’s reputation was so great that Roman would come to ask for his help, but if Flynn could help the Spencer family kill the King of Poison, it could secure a powerful position for Rose in future business wars.
“It’s a small matter, not worth mentioning. This is confidential information, don’t tell anyone else and especially don’t tell Rose. She has enough pressure already,” replied Flynn calmly.
Scarlet felt her heart warm up at Flynn’s words and she felt closer to him than ever before.
In the past, whenever she asked questions, Flynn would brush her off. But now he had told her about this top-secret mission to kill the King of Poison which meant he had accepted her as part of his team.
However, when she heard that Flynn was more concerned about Rose than herself and didn’t want to burden her with this dangerous task by keeping it from her; Scarlet couldn’t help feeling jealous.
“You’re too good to Rose! You care more about her safety than mine! Accepting such a dangerous mission just for her sake! Are you falling in love with her?” Scarlet pouted angrily and turned away from him as if expressing dissatisfaction with him.
Flynn couldn’t help but be stunned by Scarlet’s reaction. He then tapped on top of Scarlet’s head gently while shaking his head in disbelief saying, “What are women thinking these days?”
“I went to Fortune Decoration because I wanted to be there for you!”
Scarlet rubbed where he hit on top of head complaining, “My head still hurts from earlier when they hit me.”
“No matter whether you like Rose or not; eventually you will belong only to me and no one can take you away.”
“Speechless!” Flynn felt that Scarlet was a bit unreasonable, but then he chuckled and said, “Actually, I just realized today that you’re quite clever. Even under the effects of the sleeping pill, you managed to stay calm and find a way to save yourself.”
Scarlet recalled the scene from this morning and couldn’t help but shudder.
In truth, she had been extremely scared at that moment, even feeling a bit desperate. Fortunately, Flynn appeared in time; otherwise, today might have been a different story.
Now Fortune Decoration lay in ruins after all those events; Wesley and Hanna were both left paralyzed which was cruel yet self-inflicted upon themselves.
Through all these experiences though Scarlet’s admiration towards Flynn grew stronger each day.
Shivering slightly due cold air around them, she added, “Today was really dangerous… Hanna almost cut my face.”
“If you hadn’t arrived when did… I might have been tortured tonight,” admitted Scarlet fearfully.
“I can’t let that happen again…tonight I’ll sleep in your room!” declared Scarlet determinedly.
Flynn froze momentarily before responding awkwardly “Uh…”
“Do you want to sleep together?” Scarlet blinked her big eyes mischievously and grinned. “What, are you shy?”
“Kidding! Me, shy? I’m afraid you won’t dare!” Flynn looked at her teasingly and felt like he had to assert his dominance today no matter what.
After showering separately, the two of them playfully made their way to the master bedroom. But once they lay down on the two-meter-wide bed, their hearts started racing.
Scarlet blushed and Flynn could even hear her nervous breathing.
After turning off the lights without a word, the room fell completely silent and filled with an ambiguous scent.
Both of them stuck to opposite sides of the bed frame without moving towards each other.
Despite being King of the Underworld himself, sleeping in a bed with a woman was still new territory for Flynn. He was excited but also nervous as hell.
But when he thought about Scarlet’s teasing smile earlier, he felt annoyed and began inching closer towards her side.
Scarlet heard rustling sounds like that of a small animal scurrying around before she closed her legs tightly together in response. Her body curled up as it started heating up from within.
In darkness, Flynn slowly moved closer until they were almost touching each other.
The scent emanating from Scarlet’s body grew stronger by the second as it stimulated his senses while his heart raced faster than ever before.
Scarlet felt one hand getting closer to her body until it stopped just centimeters away from where she sat before landing on top of one thigh gently…
Buzz…
Her whole body trembled violently at this touch!
“Are… are you really coming?” She couldn’t help but ask tentatively through an uncontainable urge building inside herself…
“You’re shy now?” Flynn replied back just as nervously while holding onto Scarlet tightly so that their bodies pressed against each other closely enough for him to feel every breath she took against his earlobe!
He lifted up one corner of her nightgown slowly with one hand then slid it inside gradually…
Scarlet’s body shook again uncontrollably; heat surged throughout every inch while breathing became more rapid than ever before…
