After briefing Teddy on the task, Flynn went directly to the Wong family estate, as per the address provided by Katrina.
It was a typical ancient-style villa with grand architecture and a man-made lake in its garden. Each step revealed a picturesque view that displayed the owner’s refined taste. Moreover, occupying over 1, 000 acres of land not far from Niarak’s city center showed that the Wong family was wealthy and powerful.
Upon announcing himself at the gate, Flynn was immediately taken seriously by the butler who led him to the main house. As soon as he entered, he saw an elderly man sitting in front of him drinking tea.
The man had an average height with white hair but sharp eyesight. He wore gray suit which exuded an ethereal aura, looking like a sage or immortal figure. Accompanying him was a middle-aged man around fifty years old dressed in silk long gown who also looked very dignified.
The two were chatting away but it seemed apparent that despite his age and status, Roman held more power than his companion who kept smiling humbly while speaking softly.
Roman was none other than Ostrad’s famous medicine king and also served as Eahta Medical University’s dean; he had received national honors for his contributions to medicine and enjoyed state subsidies as an academician.
As soon as Roman saw Flynn enter, his expression became respectful immediately; he stood up with a smile, “Mr. Clark has arrived!”
Hearing this title made Uriah Wong frown deeply before reluctantly standing up himself, “Mr. Price, is this really your renowned healer?” The middle-aged man poured tea for Roman while asking incredulously upon seeing Flynn enter.
“That’s right,” replied Roman cheerfully. “This is my master, Flynn Clark.”
Even though Uriah had mentally prepared himself beforehand upon hearing about Flynn’s arrival, seeing him now still left him deeply shocked; how could someone so young be Medicine King’s mentor? Dressed casually without any airs or graces, it seemed impossible!
Although doubtful within himself, Uriah still respectfully addressed Flynn saying, “Mr. Clark.”
“Why did you come all this way at your age?” Flynn nodded and sat directly in Roman’s seat, leaning back in the chair and asking.
The man’s face turned black at the sight, and he slowly sat down.
Roman wasn’t angry, standing next to Flynn and smiling as he looked at Uriah.
“Oh! You talk to Mr. Price, I’ll go down first. I’ll leave it to you for the old man’s affairs!” Uriah nodded slightly, understanding what was meant.
Flynn glanced at Uriah’s departing figure and asked lightly, “Are you familiar with this family? Did you tell them everything about my identity?”
He didn’t want others to know that he had a connection with the military for fear of attracting Nate Black or Imperial Center Six Elders who would disturb his peace.
“No, no! I only told him about our relationship.” Roman came over to where Uriah was sitting and continued, “That guy just now was Uriah Wong from the Wong family. His father is an old friend of mine.”
“I came here not only to ask for your help but also to see his father.”
Flynn nodded and crossed his legs saying, “What do you need me for?”
The man saw Flynn like this again; his displeasure increased by one point. This person had such a big attitude that he didn’t even ask who he was? Did he think he was air?
“Oh! Hehe…” Roman smiled suddenly serious expression on his face as he said in a deep voice, “Ayden Wallace, who has been on the run in Northern Ustoena for twenty years has returned Ostrad.”
“Moreover, according to reliable information, he is heading straight towards Shipmeda State!”
“This person is very dangerous; skilled in using poison with high martial arts skills. He committed several massacres in Ostrad before.”
“The most recent incident happened right here in Shipmeda State. After killing thirteen members of the George family, he went into hiding overseas for thirteen years.”
“Imperial Center takes this matter very seriously; they called me earlier asking about your whereabouts but I didn’t say anything.”
“I thought it over considering national interests so I secretly came here hoping that you could come out and leave Ayden’s life behind Shipmeda.”
Flynn listened quietly but knew something about Ayden. He was skilled both medically and martially and responsible for hundreds of deaths due to concocting more than ten kinds of poisons which were fatal if touched by ordinary people.
Moreover, these killings were all local people. He often wiped out entire families including women and children showing how extremely vicious this person really was.
The most important thing was that the Poison King Ayden’s whereabouts were unpredictable, and he had extremely high martial arts skills.
The Ostrad National Security Bureau had tried to track him down and even engaged in battles with him, but every time they came up empty-handed and couldn’t even scratch him.
The National Security Bureau even issued an international arrest warrant, but so far, he hadn’t been brought to justice.
“Oh! I forgot to introduce you.” Roman raised his hand and pointed at a young man below the stage. “This is a member of the National Security Bureau and also my disciple. If you make a move, he will assist you!”
“Nathan, why don’t you greet your master?” Nathan Fletcher was extremely reluctant in his heart as he stood up straight and said perfunctorily, “Greetings Master!”
“Hmm… I can’t handle it myself; please find someone else!” Flynn didn’t even glance at Nathan before saying to Roman, “There’s going to be a new drug release from Energence Pharmaceuticals tomorrow night; stay one more day and help me out.”
“Is there anything else? If not then I’ll go back first.” After speaking, Flynn walked towards the door.
Roman was stunned for a moment as his smile froze on his face.
After seeing Flynn’s attitude, Nathan blurted out what had been bothering him for quite some time now, “My master flew all this way just to consult with you; is this how you treat him?”
Flynn furrowed his eyebrows tightly together.
“Nathan! How dare you speak like that in front of your master! Step aside!”
After Roman sternly reprimanded him, he turned to Flynn with a forced smile and said, “He doesn’t know much about you. He’s young and impulsive, just blurted out those rude words. Please don’t take it to heart.”
Nathan, however, remained unshaken, looking at Flynn with a cold snort. “So, my master sought advice on a few unconventional methods, and now you think highly of yourself?”
“Just a country doctor, yet you claim to be the master of the Medicine King?”
“At such a young age, you’re arrogant and full of yourself. My master, despite being much older, called you ‘master,’ and you actually agreed. Truly shameless!”
“If my master weren’t so lenient, your casual behavior in front of him would have led to your death eight times over!”
After speaking, he turned to Roman and said, “Master, this person is clearly uncouth. His refusal to comply with your request only proves his superficial knowledge.”
“Layla is in Niarak, isn’t she? She’s also skilled in both medicine and martial arts, apprenticed to the ghost doctor Lennon Porter. Let’s find her. No need to waste time on this kind of crude character!”
