Chapter fifty five

Book:Revenge of the Son In Law Published:2024-5-1

Adams POV
Yes I remember it like it was yesterday and I wish I didn’t.
I remember when I paid off a nurse to call Dave and tell him that his mother died during abortion.
I remember I had stood there and watched the nurse make the call.
Everyday it feels like Anna’s ghost is after me. I never let my wife know about that mistake I made in the past.
And I will make sure that neither my wife nor my daughter ever finds out about what I did.
Authoress POV
It seems that the real truth has been revealed about the death of Anna, Dave’s mother.
Everything that Dave believes to be the reason for his mother’s death are all nothing but lies.
His mother only attempted but never went through with it.
Anna was on her way out of the hospital when her way was blocked by Mr Charles, who was sitting in Mr Adams’ car.
Mr Adams and Mr Charles had parked outside the hospital, lying in wait for Anna to com out.
I guess, from Mr Adams’ flashback in the Chapter before this, you know the rest.
Now, the real question is that, will Dave ever find out about this truth?
Keep reading to find out.
Sylvester POV
“I just finished with the last file.” I said.
“Okay, that’s good. I’ll send someone over to take it from your hands. Once again, thank you for this signed agreement between our companies.” A client of mine said.
“Okay. We will speak later. I’m very busy right now.” I said.
I dropped the call and resumed typing in my laptop.
My work today is much and I’m not looking to disappoint any of my clients.
I had been so busy with Mr Adams and his family and now I built up the amount of work I’m supposed to have been through with a long time ago.
If only I didn’t have so much to do. I might have been done with Mr Adams by now.
He had made my mother sin against God, right before she died.
Sweat covered my forehead as I continued to type.
It’s almost as if there is no end to my work today.
I phoned in my secretary and asked him to bring some food for me from the cafeteria.
Specifically some egg rolls and a cup of chilled mango juice.
It was brought to me after some minutes and I relaxed a bit and ate it.
I don’t normally eat in the office and I don’t advice any of my employees to do so either.
It’s just that my work today isn’t letting me take much rest.
Elizabeth POV
I don’t know why but something in me is telling me that the worst is coming.
I don’t know what or why but it’s coming for sure.
The day time was over and I lay in bed beside my husband as usual.
After falling asleep, a terrible nightmare comes along.
“Ahhhhhhhhhh!” I screamed myself awake.
“What is the problem?! What happened?!” My husband asked.
My scream woke him from sleep.
“Thank goodness you are still here! I thought I… I lost you…” I said.
I shed a lot of tears as he drew me into a hug.
“Everything is all right.” He said.
“Adams it was just so horrible. It was too horrible to watch.” I said, still crying.
“It’s alright. Just calm down and tell me what happened.” He said.
“A young boy. He was pointing a gun at you.” I said.
“A boy?” He asked.
“I think he must be eighteen to nineteen years old.” I tried to explain.
“It’s just a nightmare. You will forget about it soon.” He said.
“No no no! Adams this is different. I could feel it.” I said.
“What do you mean you can feel it?” He asked.
“That’s not the problem now. This boy was angry and he was pointing a gun at you. He said you took something away from him. He said he will never forgive you.” I said.
My body was covered in sweat and I was gasping for air.
My husband looked shocked for a moment after my last sentence.
“What happened to you all of a sudden?” I said, after waving my hand across his face.
“Nothing honey. Just go to sleep.” He said.
He calmed me down and made me go back to sleep, even though I was scared to do so.
The next morning, I woke up feeling pains all over my body.
My husband gave me a peck the forehead and started leaving.
“You are leaving so soon? I just woke up.- I said.
“Yes, I know I have to stay and spend time with you before leaving but I have a very important meeting and I’m running late.” He said.
I noticed a kind of uneasiness in his voice but decided to let it go.
“Okay then. Be safe.” I said.
I haven’t told anyone this before but my grandmother was actually a seer.
My family did a lot of prayer to break it off but it didn’t help.
My grandmother, during her youthful days, used to do a lot of seeing people’s future.
At that time, she desperately needed some money to sponsor herself throughout university.
It was said that my great grandmother was wealthy but tossed anything concerning email address out.
My mother told me that she could sense some essence of her powers in me.
If only she were alive, I would have asked her for an explanation of my dream.
I know that Adams doesn’t want me to think about my nightmare so much but I’m sure there is a really big trouble.
Adams POV
“Sir?” An employee of mine called out to me.
“What? What is it?” I asked.
“Sir, I’m sorry to say this but I don’t think you are concentrating on the project I’m trying hard to explain to you.” He said.
“This can’t just be a coincidence. How come my wife had such a dream?” I thought.
“Sir!” My employee yelled slightly.
“Huh?” I said.
“Sir, I think maybe we should continue this discussion another time. I think you need some rest.” He said.
“I think so too. Thank you. You may leave now.” I said.
The employee leaves my office and my mind, again, travelled to another world.
