Adams POV
“You mean you are an orphan?” I asked.
“Affirmative.” Sylvester replied.
“I honestly didn’t see that coming. What a twist.” I said.
“I never really spoke about it to anyone. Surprisingly, the paparazzi never thought about it. And neither did news reporters.” He said.
“How did you become an orphan?” I asked him.
“My parents died when I was eighteen.” He said.
“And what killed them?” I asked.
“They actually died at different times. My father died some years before my mother.” He replied.
“And your mother?” I asked.
“She was raped by a man who I thought was my friend.” Sylvester said, great pain was showing all over his face.
“That man must really be heartless to rape a woman to death. He deserves the worst possible punishment that could be given for such a crime.” I said in anger.
“You are guilty of it.” He said.
I was shocked to hear what he just said.
“Pardon?” I asked.
“Ha ha ha ha ha. What I mean is that, you are guilty of having such a beautiful daughter.” He said.
“I thought we were still talking about what happened to your mother.” I said.
“Yes, we were. But I don’t want to talk about it anymore. It might drive me crazy.” He said.
“I understand. Don’t worry about it. From this day forward, we won’t speak about the past.” I said.
“Ha ha. Okay sir.” He replied.
My wife and daughter returned from the room and joined us.
Sylvester POV
“I think I’ll take me leave now. I stayed to long and I still have work to do at my office.” I said.
“So soon? Do you really have to leave?” Bella said.
“If it was depending on me, I would stay. But unfortunately, it isn’t.” I replied.
“Please stay just a bit longer.” Bella said.
I walked to where she sat and gave her a peck on the cheek.
“Sorry my love, I really have to go. I’m not just a billionaire but also a CEO.” I told her.
“Aww, how romantic.” Her mother said.
“Stop it mom.” Bella said, shyly.
“Sorry dear, I just can’t help myself.” Her mother replied.
“Come with me Sylvester. I will accompany you to the gate.
I faked a smile and walked towards the door.
“You know what Sylvester?” Mr Adams said and I turned around.
“It’s a deal. Will will establish a partnership.” Mr Adams said.
“Thank you sir. You won’t be disappointed.” I said.
“I’m counting on that.” He replied.
I left with bella by my side.
She stopped when we reached the gate. We hugged and kissed before parting ways with each other.
I entered my car and instructed he driver to take me to my company.
The driver stopped the car once we reached there.
I got into my office in the company and immediately started work. Just because I’m working on getting revenge doesn’t mean I will let my business fall.
If I loose money, then what would I use to take Mr Adams down?
Adams POV
I sat outside of my mansion, under a shade and started my deep deliberation.
I always do so when I realize it’s essential for me to do so.
In my deliberation of my previous discussion with Sylvester, I noticed that, Sylvester is very similar to Dave.
Although I had vowed never to think or talk about Dave ever again, Sylvester’s answers to my questions reminded me of Dave.
What if Charles is right?
What if Dave really comes back for his revenge?
No! How would he even manage that?
After all, I am the CEO of Adams inc. How can someone as poor as Dave manage to bring me down?
Unlike him, I have the power and I am capable of much for than meets the eye.
“Honey, I need your help with sone thing.” My wife said, as she walked to where I sat.
“My love, is any thing the matter?” She asked.
“No, nothing. I was just taking in some fresh air.” I said.
“You promised never to lie to me sweetie. I know there is something wrong. It’s very obvious.” She said.
“How do you mean?” I asked.
“You always sit out here and get lost in thought when ever you have a problem.” She replied.
“Lost in thought?” I asked.
“Yes, I called you from inside, like five times before I came out here.” She said.
“Oh, I never noticed.” I said.
“Exactly my point.” She replied.
“Now tell me what the problem is.” She added.
“Uh. It’s actually about our daughter, bella.” I said.
“What about Bella?” She asked.
“Nothing. I’ll just miss her a lot when she finally gets married. She is not only our daughter but she is also our only child.” I said.
“I’ll miss her a lot too but, we both know that this day must come for every woman. The day that her husband will come and take her away.” My wife said.
“I know that. And I’m sure she will always visit when she can.” I said.
My wife placed her hand on mine and looked into my eyes.
“We will be stronger than ever, as long as we stick together.” She said.
I nodded and she went back into the mansion.
I still feel the guilt of what I did in the past.
It’s something that will never leave me and I know it.
It was almost like yesterday when it all happened. I remember it vividly well.
Flashback…
…”I can’t possibly go through with this anymore.” Dave’s mother said.
“Madam, you have to. My boss sent me here to make sure you go through with it.” Charles said.
“He also made it very clear that he won’t take responsibility for the unborn child.” Charles added.
“To hell with him! I’m keeping this child and thats final! I’m going back home.” She yelled and walked away.
Charles meets me in the car, outside the hospital, where I parked and listened to their conversation.
“Sir she is insists on keeping the child.” Charles said.
“I know. I heard everything you both discussed.” I replied.
“What do you plan on doing now?” Charles asked.
“Watch and see.” I said.
I followed Anna from behind till she reached a lonely and bushy path.
Then I brought out my gun.
“Sir! What are you trying to do?!” Charles said.
“Shut up Charles! Since she doesn’t want to terminate the pregnancy, I won’t let it’s and her existence destroy my reputation.” I said.
I aimed the gun at Anna and pulled the trigger.
“No!” Charles said.
“Oh, shut up you weakling. Find a place and bury her body.” I said.
“And yes, bury this gun as well.” I added…
