Chapter fifty six

Book:Revenge of the Son In Law Published:2024-5-1

Could it be that the boy that in my wife’s dream was Dave?
That can’t be possible right?
Dave isn’t the one in her dream. It’s impossible.
And besides, Dave can’t be eighteen. It’s been years already and he is already past that age.
It must have been a coincidence that my wife had such a dream.
Flashback…
…”I saw Dave.” He replied.
My heart almost burst out of my chest once Charles made that statement.
“D… Dave?” I asked, with a little sign of fright in my voice.
“In my dream sir, not in the physical.” He said.
I sighed and got a bit more relaxed as I was.
“What sort of a joke is that supposed to be?” I asked.
“I’m not making any sort of joke sir. Think about it, Dave has been absent from our lives for almost twenty six years now then how come I got that sort of a dream really right from thin air?” He said.
“And what sort of a dream is that?” I asked, trying to keep my cool.
“We were begging in the streets. Dave had become in a higher position than yours and he put us in the streets.” He said.
“What is wrong with you? Is it . because of the threat he made years ago? Why are you always believing in such things as bad karma?” I said.
“But sir…” He said.
“Leave my office.” I said…
Flashback ends.
What if there is a link between these two dreams? What if Dave is really out to get me?
But, I know Dave, he isn’t capable of carrying out anything of that sort.
Except.
Except if the real truth had been discovered.
Oh God, why do I have to keep living in fear everyday?
Just when I think it’s all over, something new pops up.
I cried my heart out in the office.
I wish none of this ever happened. I wish I could turn back the hands of time.
I could have made a change.
Authoress POV
Mr Adams regret his past deeds but unfortunately for him it’s too late to start regretting.
Dave is truly out to get him. But how will it end for Mr Adams and his family?
Will truth find out of a truth that only me Adams and Mr Charles knows about?
Maybe yes, and maybe no.
You have to keep up with the book to figure out how it will happen.
… Two months pass by like it was nothing.
Bella is now married to Sylvester and Sylvester is still business partners with Mr Adams.
Sylvester’s and Mr Adams business partnership with each other has grown into a strong bond between them.
Mr Adams now trusts Sylvester blindly.
Sylvester has been the one handling most of the contracts and meetings for these two companies in just these two months.
Mr Adams and Sylvester soon becomes best of friends and not only because of the business.
It is because Sylvester is his son in-law. He takes Sylvester as the son he never had.
Sylvester has been a wonderful son in-law to Mr and Mrs Adams.
Sending gifts to his father in-law and mother in-law was something he would never miss.
But, that doesn’t mean that Sylvester had a change of heart, oh no.
It was all part of his plot against Mr Adams to gain Mr Adams’ and Mr Adams’ family’s trust.
Sylvester is more cunning than ever before and as time passed by, his heart grew more wicked.
Is this what is left for Sylvester?
He is rich, yes he can afford whatever money can buy.
But, Loneliness and anger is all that he can feel for all the days of his life.
His best friend, Hilton, no longer speaks with him.
The two friends now live their separate lifes.
Why won’t Sylvester just move on?
Sylvester POV
“Yes? Come in.” I said, after hearing a knock on the door.
The door opens and my lawyer comes in.
“Good evening sir.” He greeted.
“Yes, good evening. How may I be of service to you?” I asked.
“Far from that sir. I only came with the documents you wanted me to prepare.” He said.
“Okay. Let me see them.” I said.
“Here they are.” He said.
My lawyer handed me the documents and opened hem to read through.
“So, everything will happen two weeks after he signs it?” I asked.
“Yes. Only when the person in question signs it. And action will be taken immediately, within two weeks that is.” He said.
“Good. Very good. I like the sound of that.” I said.
“You can keep the contract in your custody sir. And return it to me once you you get the second signature.” He said.
“I will do so.” I replied.
“I will take my leave now.” He said.
“Yes, you may.” I replied and he left.
Now all I have to do is get Mr Adams to sign this contract and everything will finally come to an end.
All I have gone through in all these years will finally pay off.
I will be able to get hold of everything he has through this contract.
Mr Adams POV
This conference is getting more and more though on on me.
Why can’t we all just come to an agreement or something.
“No! I refuse to be the last to benefit from this commitment!” Mr John said.
“Neither do I.” Mr Darlington said.
“Come on people, this is going to take forever if we don’t come to an agreement soon.” I said.
We are ten men present in the conference. Each one of us represent a different companies.
We gathered here to decide which company comes first and which comes last in profiting from the yearly shares.
You see, in one year, a company gets paid by the contribution given by the other nine companies and it goes round year by year.
“I will come last in it!” I yelled.
“Since none of you want to do so, I will.” I said.
“Wise decision Mr Adams. The whole idea would have come crashing down.” Mr Steve said.
“Since you brought the idea it’s only wise that you agree to be the last to benefit from it.” Mr Dickson said.
“Okay then. We can finally move to the next step.” Mr Franklin said.
“Yes, we are now going to decide the amount to be paid by each company.” I said.
“I’m not going for anything more than a hundred thousand.” Mr John said.
“With the problems my company is going through, I can only afford to put in not more than fifty thousand.” Mr Steven said.
Four hours passed by as we continued to deliberate on this issue.
I was sweating so much that I was l pretty sure that my sweat could fill a bucket.
The meeting was over only after five more hours.
I walked straight to my car where the driver was to wait for me and he was no where to be found.
“Where is this damn driver? He was supposed to be waiting here.” I said, after realizing that the driver was gone.
I called again and again but no answer came from the driver’s phone.
It didn’t even ring.
I looked around and still couldn’t find the driver.
That’s it! That man is fired!
Someone horned at me and I turned to see who it was.
“Sylvester.” I said.
“Come on father in-law, hop in. I can see that your personal driver isn’t here. I will give you a ride home.” He said.
“Thank you so much. I don’t know where I would be without you son.” I replied and entered his car.
“It’s already very late. What is your driver doing that is more important than getting his boss home on time?” Sylvester asked.
“I don’t know and I don’t care. What I am sure about is that he will loose his job.” I replied.
“You must be very tired.” Sylvester said.
“Very. In fact, I don’t think I can lift another pen. Or even read another document. I had so much reading and signing to do in the conference.” I complained.
“Oh, that’s actually such a shame.” Sylvester said.
“Why is that?” I asked.
“I have a document here for you to sign in three spaces and I won’t be able to give it to you some other time because my schedule is full till the next week.” He explained.
“Let me have it.” I said.
He handed documents to me and I signed in the spaces that had my name written below it.
“You didn’t read.” He said.
“You are like a son to me Sylvester. I don’t think I need to read it before I sign. I trust you completely, you know that ” I said.
