Chapter 69 Having Eyes But Failing To Recognize

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-6-4

Callie’s body suddenly tightened, her long legs pressed tightly together, and her cheeks turned as red as a peach.
She was flushed all over and looked at Flynn with a confused gaze.
“I feel so uncomfortable, so itchy…” Callie suddenly sat up and wrapped her arms around Flynn’s neck, pressing herself tightly against him and trembling uncontrollably.
Flynn was disinfecting the silver needle, preparing to open the acupoint. Suddenly, he felt a soft and warm sensation, realizing that the sheets were somewhat damp. Fresh, red lips met his.
“Once per minute?”
Flynn gently patted Callie’s forehead.
She immediately fell on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
Flynn had someone dress Callie and change the sheets.
The crowd gathered around.
Flynn inserted the silver needle into Callie’s forehead, gently flicking it upward.
As the pattern turned, Callie’s eyebrows on both sides raised and fell, like gills breathing.
The silver needle hummed and trembled, and fine beads of sweat appeared on Callie’s forehead, with heat rising up.
“The fifteenth needle technique of the Crimson Dragon Needle is a half-open acupoint. The needle technique you have comprehended is rubbish, it will only harm people. Do not use it again in the future.”
Flynn mentioned it again because he didn’t want Jaxson to harm anyone anymore.
“How do you know my family’s Crimson Dragon Needle?” Jaxson was full of shock.
Flynn said calmly, “The heir of Crimson Dragon Needle is surnamed Newman, when did they become a part of your family?”
“Seven hundred years ago, the last head of the Newman family served as an official. When thte troops invaded his hometown, he chose death over surrender and was executed along with his entire clan. The Newman family’s mansion was also burned to ashes.”
“Only the grandson of the head survived.”
“As for your ancestors, they only found half a medical book in the ruins of the mansion.”
“They thought that there were no more heirs left in the Newman family and shamelessly claimed to be descendants of Crimson Dragon Needle with eighteen needle techniques.”
“The descendants of Newman family didn’t want to argue with your family and changed their names to live a reclusive life instead.”
“My master’s Newman family is legitimate. Crimson Dragon Needle only has seventeen needle techniques. What you have learned is useless and should not be used again in future.”
Flynn spoke slowly but Jaxson felt like he had been hit by thunderbolts, completely shaken.
He stumbled back against a wall feeling lost.
Katrina was also shocked by this history she never knew about Crimson Dragon Needle.
The Pearce family had no interest in these matters; all their attention was on Callie.
“She wakes up!”
Everyone stirred into action.
Callie slowly opened her eyes, showing signs of vitality that hadn’t been seen for a long time.
Brandon nervously stepped forward and whispered, “Callie, how do you feel this time?”
“Dad, Grandpa, I’m not uncomfortable anymore. I feel strong all over my body. You’ve worked hard these years,” Callie said as she was slowly helped up, feeling an unprecedented sense of ease and tears streaming down her face.
The kind of deep bone itch that had been tormenting her was completely gone!
Elis tightly held Callie’s hand with tears in his eyes, “You’re able to recover all thanks to Mr. Clark. He’s the savior of our Pearce family!”
“Callie, quickly thank Mr. Clark!”
Callie’s tears were swirling in her eyes as she knelt on the bed and knocked her head heavily on Flynn.
The Pearce family burst into tears and thanked Flynn.
Niarak’s most powerful family, Orion and the city leaders who would be polite when they met the Pearce family before now bowed their heads to thank Flynn together with unprecedented respect!
“Mr. Clark…” Jasper pulled out a platinum bank card with both hands and pleaded, “This bank card has a balance of more than 10 million dollar in it. My family has offended you greatly but you cured Callie for us so we should show our gratitude.”
“Of course, this great kindness cannot be measured by money alone; we just want to express our gratitude.”
“We hope you’ll accept it; if you ever need help in the future, my family will never refuse!”
Flynn waved his hand indifferently, “I treated Callie because I was angry that Roman said I wasn’t compassionate enough; it had nothing to do with anyone else.”
“Take your money back!”
This scene shocked everyone once again.
Katrina felt her face burning with pain.
Flynn’s words from earlier in the morning were like a slap in the face for Katrina.
She was completely defeated, thinking back on her previous clownish behavior and feeling foolish and ashamed.
Yes!
Even Medicine King Roman was his disciple. Flynn had no desire for money whatsoever.
As long as he wanted it, those wealthy families will compete to offer him their wealth, begging him to accept!
Money was nothing but scrap paper to Flynn.
Unless they reached Flynn’s level of understanding, they won’t comprehend such an absurd statement.
Now they all understood it.
Travis watched this scene unfold before him and felt regretful inside. He had come to the Pearce family’s Mansion with ulterior motives, hoping that by using his daughter he could advance his own career by curing Callie’s illness. But now everything had been for naught; not only did he leave empty-handed but also offended someone as powerful as Flynn.
“Once you’re feeling better, just lie down and rest!” Flynn smiled at Callie before heading downstairs.
The group asked Flynn to sit in the living room and began discussing the Davies Pharmaceuticals situation.
“The Davies family withdrew all their deposits from Aisino Bank today. I think they’re planning to run away,” Jasper said in a low voice.
“I heard that the Kaur family invested 20 million in Davies Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Clark, you’re part of the Kaur family as their son-in-law, why didn’t you advise them?”
Flynn was taken aback by this news and shook his head. “I did advise them, but they wouldn’t listen.”
The Pearce family fell silent upon hearing this while it seemed like the Kaur family made a mistake similar to that of Pearce’s – looking down on Flynn due to his past incarceration and not believing what he had to say.
It was such a shame that the Kaur family couldn’t recognize true talent!
As everyone mourned over this fact, Travis suddenly frowned and shook his head. “The Davies family bought a mountain in Ponocord Bay for growing herbs; there are plans for tourism development there soon which could increase its value tenfold!”
“With them running away and Kaur taking over, they won’t be losing out either!”
