Matteo waved his hand. “Ultimately, this is Caleb’s fault, but Miss Woods helped us smooth things over.”
“Flynn hit Caleb to protect the safety of our family. I don’t think he’s fundamentally wrong except for being too violent. I won’t kick him out,” Matteo explained.
Paulina rolled her eyes and looked at Flynn with disdain. “Miss Woods doesn’t give people second chances easily.”
“If we had used those two chances to get her a few projects, Madeline wouldn’t be so tired!”
“You didn’t help Madeline even once and wasted all those opportunities!” Paulina accused.
The Kaur family members were speechless.
Layla had her own company and countless connections; giving her a project would be enough for the Kaur family to live off of for years. They blamed Flynn for always causing trouble, saying that even if he had good luck, it wouldn’t last long.
“Enough!” Matteo interrupted them. “Relying on others is only temporary; we need to work hard ourselves.”
“Our family is already on track; Alan has applied for listing with the state securities regulator and it will be approved in less than two days.”
“When Davies’ Pharmaceuticals goes public, our family can make some money too, and our problems will be solved,” Matteo said confidently.
“You know that’s right,” Paulina sneered sarcastically. “Alan is such a great kid! He has always liked Madeline.”
“Even though he knows our daughter married Flynn, he still treats her as before and gave our family 20 million shares.”
“Our relatives also benefited from the deal, and they eagerly invested money, praising Madeline for being capable,” Paulina said. “If this deal goes through, Madeline’s position as CEO will be secure and no one can take it away,” she added with a smug look towards Sam and his daughter.
Madeline nodded confidently. “This is just the first step in our family’s rise to success,” she said. “I’ve found several other companies with great potential that we can invest in once Davies Pharmaceuticals goes public.”
“In three years’ time, I’ll increase our family profits tenfold!” Madeline continued excitedly.
As she spoke about her plans, her excitement was palpable and her gaze fell on Flynn. With the Davies’ help, the Kaur family would soon become a prominent name in Niarak’s high society – which meant Flynn would no longer be good enough for her.
But Flynn shook his head calmly. “Mr. Kaur, I don’t think Alan went on a business trip to the securities bureau – he’s probably preparing to sell off assets and run away.”
“The Davies family is going to crash within three days – you need to withdraw your investment now!” he warned.
Flynn had heard from Elis that Alan had lost billions of dollars gambling in Astia. The new drug they were planning to release had serious side effects that could only be temporarily suppressed by throwing money at them.
But the new drug had been on the market for two months, and there will definitely be more victims in the future.
Once it was fully exposed, the Davies family will have no choice but to go bankrupt.
Alan was definitely selling off assets behind closed doors and preparing to run away with the money.
“You’re not done yet, are you?” Paulina asked angrily with a straight face. “Are you uncomfortable if the Kaur family isn’t doing well for even one day?”
“Matteo already told you that Madeline and Alan only have a business relationship, nothing else!”
“Why do you keep bothering Alan all day long? You can’t help the Kaur family yourself, but you won’t let others help either. Do you have any shame?”
Madeline also said coldly, “I told you not to interfere in company affairs. It goes in one ear and out of another with you!”
“If it weren’t for Mr. Davies’ help, you would have died eight times over by now. If you want to prove that you’re better than Alan then work hard!”
“All he knows how to do is sow discord!”
Matteo slammed his hand on the table, “Let’s not bring this up again!”
“Flynn, you’re too idle. I’ll find a job for you!”
“Why don’t you become a Business Analyst at the Kaur’s Group? The work is easy and pays 5 thousand dollars per month!”
Flynn shook his head and said, “No thanks; I have other ideas.”
“Other ideas? Are you going to continue stealing things?” Charlotte sneered, “He married Madeline just so he could freeload off her; why would he go to work?”
“Besides, who steals from work to make money quickly?” Sam said with a scowl. “He just thinks the position you gave him is too low,” he added, addressing Paulina.
“Too low? Does he want to be in upper management?” Paulina snorted.
“He’s lucky to have a job at all, considering he spent ten years in prison.”
Madeline couldn’t help but find it amusing. Flynn was clueless about his place and always had unrealistic expectations. He never went to college and had no experience – how could he possibly expect to be in upper management? His head was always in the clouds, wanting something for nothing.
Matteo shook his head and addressed Flynn directly, “Listen, Flynn. You need to start at the bottom and work your way up if you want any chance of success.”
“If you show exceptional ability, there may be opportunities for advancement,” Matteo added. “But you can’t have lofty ambitions without putting in the hard work first.”
Flynn tried to defend himself, “Mr. Kaur, you’ve got it all wrong.”
“I plan on starting my own pharmaceutical company once I take care of some things,” Flynn explained confidently.
He intended on helping Rose start her own pharmaceutical company as well – using capital operations against the woods and Swanson families and Dragon Gate Group as competition.
