Chapter 43 Scarlet Is a Naive And Innocent Girl

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-6-4

“Start a company?!” The Kaur family was taken aback.
“Haha! This is getting ridiculous!” Charlotte almost laughed to death and said to Sam, “Dad, let’s not waste our time here. Let’s go!”
Sam nodded and said to Matteo, “Matteo, no matter what your son-in-law does, remember my words. If he harms the interests of the Kaur family again, I will make sure that Dad dismisses Madeline from her position and revokes your family’s dividends!”
“Hmph! He wants to start a company? If he can afford it, then I’m the richest person in the world!”
Sam and his daughter left the Kaur family with disdain.
Paulina looked at Flynn with a cold face and said, “Do you know how much money it takes to start a pharmaceutical company? At least 5 million.”
“He doesn’t even have three cents on him. What is he thinking?”
Scarlet pulled Madeline aside and whispered softly, “Madeline, let’s not worry about anything else right now. Your husband’s words are never wrong. Let’s withdraw our investment from Davies’ Pharmaceuticals as soon as possible!”
Madeline impatiently pulled away Scarlet’s hand and said to Flynn, “Don’t be ungrateful. Whatever my dad arranges for us is what we’ll do.”
“Don’t dream unrealistically anymore. The higher the goal you set, the more painful it will be when you can’t achieve it!”
Scarlet pouted and rolled her eyes in anger. She had seen through it all – Madeline and Flynn were not meant to be together.
Since that was the case, she wouldn’t hold back either! “Don’t regret it later!” she warned.
Matteo agreed with Madeline’s words and nodded his head. “Flynn, you’re already grown up. You can’t waste your time like this.”
“Think about this carefully and give me an answer in a few days,” he added.
“Okay!” Flynn smiled and bid farewell before leaving the Kaur family.
“I’ll see him off,” Scarlet quickly ran downstairs.
Madeline shook her head as she watched Scarlet go. She was too naive; believing everything Flynn said made her seem like a young fangirl who was easily fooled. It was fortunate that she lived at the Kaur family’s place; otherwise, she might have been lured into some remote mountainous area where she would have to pay for her own foolishness!
What a silly girl!
Flynn walked out of the Kaur family’s house and called Edwin on his phone.
“Help me investigate where Sebastian Evans lives,” said Flynn.
“Sebastian? I’ll be holding a celebrity endorsement signing ceremony at the Niarak International Hotel tomorrow, and he’ll be there. Boss, why do you need him?” replied Edwin.
As soon as he finished speaking, Edwin realized he had made a mistake and quickly apologized, “Boss, I spoke out of turn. I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
Why did he need to explain himself to him when the King of the Underworld did things? Even ants dared to question the heavens?
Flynn’s face turned cold as he asked, “Sebastian was also involved in that battle. Is he coming to your party?”
Boom!
Edwin felt like lightning had struck him on top of his head and quickly explained, “It’s a misunderstanding! We only have a business relationship; I didn’t know anything about his involvement in that battle!”
“If I knew about it, even with ten times more courage than now, I wouldn’t dare get involved with him!”
“Boss, you have to believe me! Really, truly didn’t know!” pleaded Edwin.
“That’s enough!” Flynn said calmly. “Since he’s coming to Niarak tomorrow anyway, there’s no need for me to go all the way to Eahta.”
“Don’t leak any information; tomorrow night… I will kill him!” Flynn hung up the phone.
“Brother-in-law can I come see where you live?” Scarlet ran over excitedly.
She wanted to verify if Flynn’s words were true or not.
It would be crazy if he really lived in Thodell Mansion.
“What’s there to see in a broken house?” Flynn frowned.
Scarlet was speechless and pitifully said, “I’m just not feeling well and want to take my mind off things!”
“Okay, I have some medicine that can quickly reduce swelling. Let me help you apply it,” Flynn said as he looked at her still swollen cheeks.
After all, it was his fault that she got involved in this mess, and he also planned to learn more about Kevin’s wife’s murder case. So he agreed.
The two soon arrived at the foot of Plenilune Mountain. Scarlet wanted to buy some milk tea to bring with her, so Flynn parked the car and waited while his phone rang.
It was a call from Jasper, the president of Aisino Bank.
Flynn hung up directly and received a text message from him shortly after, “Mr. Clark, everything is my family’s fault. Please help us out for Callie’s sake! I will come apologize to you at Plenilune Mountain right now.”
Flynn impatiently blocked him and took out the bone jade for study instead.
The bone jade was crystal clear like ordinary jade but had been burned at high temperatures with added substances during production process.
With knowledge learned from the old man who practiced geomancy techniques, he could see black energy that normal people couldn’t see on it too easily
“This bone jade is made from bones of extremely resentful dead people; wearing it frequently will affect her mental state and also harm her luck.”
“How could Rose have something like this?” Flynn furrowed his brow, looking puzzled.
“Flynn?” A seductive woman with a well-toned figure approached.
Wearing black sunglasses, tight jeans, and a pink low-cut striped knit short-sleeved top, she had long, slender legs and fair arms.
Beside her was a man dressed in a suit and leather shoes.
“Jennifer Parry?” Flynn blinked in surprise.
“Jennifer, who is he?” the man asked.
Jennifer introduced them to each other, saying, “Flynn is my high school classmate.”
“This is my boyfriend, Denis Thomas, the manager of Aisino Bank.”
Flynn nodded casually.
“Flynn? Oh, I remember now!” He slapped his forehead and grinned at Flynn, saying, “You’re not that guy who split his pants on the first day of high school military training, are you?”
