In a moment of terror, Luca’s mind was flooded with scenes of Adrianna battling hundreds of martial arts masters.
The earth shook and the sky went dark as countless masters fell in battle. Adrianna managed to escape, but not before sustaining serious injuries. Soon after, a group of black-clad men appeared on the scene to clean up the mess.
Those who survived were mercilessly slaughtered and their bodies taken away without a trace. Over one hundred master-level corpses littered the area – evidence of just how powerful their attackers must have been.
Luca’s face turned pale as he trembled uncontrollably, drenched in cold sweat.
Matteo looked at Flynn with shock and disbelief – his eyes filled with waves upon waves of emotion that made his heart skip a beat.
It was like hearing about something forbidden by heaven itself; suddenly, Matteo’s face turned as white as paper.
How could this kid know about what happened that day?
“Get out! All of your Kaur family members, get the hell out!” Luca shouted, causing fear to grip the hearts of the Kaur family.
“All right, Mr. Johnston. We’re leaving now!” Sam was the first to react and pulled his daughter Charlotte along as they scrambled out of the Kaur family’s house.
The others followed suit and ran outside.
“Paulina, take them away first. I’ll stay behind and talk to Flynn,” Matteo said, wanting to stay behind.
“You want a death wish? Let Flynn suffer for what he’s done! Leave now!” Sam yelled at Matteo while Paulina grabbed his arm and dragged him towards the door.
“I’m not leaving! Let me go! Flynn, your mother is already dead. Please don’t dwell on it anymore. I beg you!” Matteo struggled hard but was still carried out of the yard in a flurry.
Soon enough, only Flynn and Luca’s men were left in the room.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Put my cousin down now!” Luca pretended to be calm even though waves of fear washed over him again and again; he knew that this was an absolute taboo topic – even mentioning half a word could mean death!
He couldn’t admit it!
He mustn’t say anything!
He only told his father about this matter; who leaked it?
“If you won’t speak up then I’ll kill him!” Flynn slammed Caleb heavily onto the ground!
Bang!
The sound of a broken spine echoed.
“Ah! My waist! I can’t feel my legs!”
A scream rang out.
Luca’s eyes widened, his cheeks clenched as he gritted his teeth and his muscles tightened.
“Flynn, I’ll give you one last chance. Let Caleb go and I won’t hold anything against you for what happened before!”
Compared to the feud between Flynn and his cousin, Luca was more afraid of the events from ten years ago being revealed. He just wanted to take Caleb and leave now.
“You still won’t talk?” Flynn’s eyes instantly frosted over as he viciously stomped on Caleb’s left arm.
Crack!
A crisp sound rang out.
“Ah!” Caleb couldn’t recover from the pain in his waist before his shoulder blade shattered again.
“You let go of Caleb, let him go!” Luca roared loudly, trembling all over with fear that he might reveal something he shouldn’t have seen even if it meant sacrificing Caleb’s life.
“Spit it out, and the Johnston family will be destroyed!” Flynn stomped on Caleb’s right arm again.
“I’ll say it, I know about that day, please don’t hit me anymore, waaah…” Caleb cried with tears streaming down his face. His nose was running like a faucet.
“What! Shut up!” Luca’s body was covered in goosebumps. He finally knew who leaked the information. Caleb was also there when he told his father about it. He must have overheard them behind the door!
“Caleb, don’t talk nonsense, that thing never happened!”
This foul-mouthed dog wanted to destroy the Johnston family!
“You have three seconds!” Flynn’s voice was icy cold.
Caleb trembled and stuttered, “My cousin didn’t participate; he just watched from afar. They were chasing after your mother for a ring; I don’t know anything else.”
“A ring?” Flynn frowned.
Luca didn’t even have internal strength yet; he couldn’t possibly be a mastermind in this matter. If he had participated and faced his mother’s level of power as a Heavenly King of their country, he would have been turned into blood mist long ago!
Thump!
Luca couldn’t control himself any longer and fell to his knees.
“Don’t say it, don’t say it, Caleb! You’re going to destroy the Johnston family!” he exclaimed.
“Luca, if I don’t tell him today, I’ll die!” Caleb cried out. He turned to Flynn and said with a sob, “It’s the Heaven’s Punishment Ring!”
“Hundreds of masters besieged your mother for the Heaven’s Punishment Ring!”
“Your mother was already injured at the beginning of the battle. A man named Sebastian Evans picked up the lost Heaven’s Punishment Ring and secretly ran away before the final battle!”
“Sebastian?” Flynn narrowed his eyes. His eyes burst with killing intent as endless coldness spread in all directions.
“We only know this much. Spare us, spare us!” Caleb lay on the ground wailing.
Caleb had become completely useless.
His spine was broken and he couldn’t feel anything from his waist down.
At this moment, tears flowed down Caleb’s face.
Eating, sleeping, drinking water or even touching women – models from clubs or third-tier actresses or college girls who were vital for his survival – he couldn’t do any of them anymore.
He wished he were dead!
Caleb now only had regret – endless regret.
“I regret ever crossing paths with Flynn, that thug!”
“Hahaha,” Luca burst into laughter. “Sebastian is from the Evans family, the third-ranked king in the Ostrad underground world. He not only holds immense power but is also a master himself.”
“Even the Hussain family of Dragon Gate Group bows down to him!”
“Knowing he has the ring won’t do you any good. You can’t get it back.”
“This is something we’ll have to swallow and accept, there’s nothing we can do about it.”
