Chapter 156: Elisa’s Voluntary Choice

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

Lukas was tied to a pillar, his voice hoarse from crying. He would rather have the pain end quickly with a single knife than be tortured like this. But Hamish, like Lukas, enjoyed tormenting others for his own pleasure.
The knife glowed red hot, leaving burn marks on Lukas’ body. Then, with the tip of the knife, the roasted skin was cut off.
“I was wrong, Mr. Burns. Please spare me this time,” Lukas pleaded.
“Did you spare Elisa when she begged for mercy?” Mr. Burns replied.
Elisa never begged for mercy, and even if she did, Lukas wouldn’t have spared her.
“Take off his pants.”
Without hesitation, the subordinate torturer put down the knife and took off Lukas’ pants.
Lukas was terrified, and as his pants came off, a strong smell of urine filled the air. The man holding the pants wrinkled his nose in disgust.
Lukas didn’t know what Hamish was planning, but the removal of his pants didn’t bode well. The cold air made him even more afraid, his fear reaching its peak. His head was buzzing, and his legs were trembling uncontrollably.
Lukas trembled and stammered, his face turning pale. “Mr. Burns, this… this is…”
“Since you can’t control yourself below the waist, then let it be,” Hamish said, sitting back and leisurely watching.
His tone was light and airy, but those words felt like a knife slicing through Lukas, almost killing him.
Lukas had already emptied his bladder; otherwise, he would have been scared into doing so again.
“Mr. Burns, please! Although I had an affair with your woman, it was consensual. Besides, I never actually touched her.”
Previously, his speech was muddled due to the beatings, but now fear had made his tongue agile. Lukas’s nose was running, and tears streamed down his face.
He was guilty, but not to this extent. At most, he had only hit Elisa a few times. The wound on her wrist was self-inflicted, and she had stabbed him in the shoulder.
He was cruel, but Elisa was even more cruel. And Hamish, he was beyond human, actually planning to castrate Lukas!
Hamish sat there without speaking, his face growing darker. His fingers tapped incessantly on the armrest, reflecting his inner turmoil.
“You say it was Elisa’s choice?”
“Yes… yes.”
In the dim light, Hamish’s features became somewhat blurry, and combined with his teary eyes, it was even harder to see. But the music in the air could sense the intensity of his piercing black gaze.
Trembling, Lukas said, “If Mr. Burns doesn’t believe me, you can ask my subordinate, Hayden. The contract signed by Elisa is in his hands.”
Hamish let out a cold snort.
The man standing in front of Lukas, wiping the knife, glanced back at Hamish. Hamish raised his hand and made a waving motion. The man put down the knife, and Lukas breathed a sigh of relief.
Hamish said, “Call him and have him bring the contract.”
Lukas didn’t dare to disobey. He immediately recited a series of numbers, and Hamish’s subordinate dialed the number. Following Hamish’s instructions, someone brought the contract that Elisa had signed.
After waiting for almost half an hour, the phone rang. The man went out to get the contract, and soon returned, respectfully handing it to Hamish.
This was the original document. Hamish looked at the handwriting on it, confirming that it was indeed Elisa’s. Her fingerprint had also been added.
He quickly skimmed through the words on the contract, and as his gaze lowered, he clenched the paper with force.
Elisa actually agreed to such a contract?! She agreed to spend a night with Lukas in order to help Ivan clear his debt of ten million!
Lukas felt relieved when he saw the contract being brought over. He wasn’t sure how effective it would be, but judging by Hamish’s expression, he seemed to believe it.
For now, Lukas just wanted to save his own life and his lower body.
Hamish remained silent, his gaze cold and his grip on the contract tight. He had read the content of the contract, consisting of only a couple of hundred words, countless times, and the more he read, the greater his anger grew.
Elisa, Elisa, Elisa! Her name echoed in his mind, and with each repetition, his teeth clenched tighter.
“Mr. Burns, if Elisa agreed willingly, then it has nothing to do with me. Can you spare me? I promise I will never appear before you again.”
Hamish looked up, his gaze filled with achilling darkness that made Lukas shudder. “Only the dead won’t appear before me.”
“Mr. Burns, I truly regret it. I was wrong. Please spare me,” Lukas pleaded. Fear overwhelmed him, and his brain was numb, unable to think. All he could do was repeat over and over again that he was sorry.
Does uttering the word “sorry” once absolve him of his sins? How naïve.
Even if Elisa willingly signed the agreement, does that justify her self-inflicted injuries?
Lukas cried like a dog, a sight that made people nauseous. Hamish thought of the suffering Elisa had endured at his hands, tore the contract to pieces, and ordered his subordinate, “Blindfold him.”
Fear stems from the unknown, and when one’s eyes are covered, plunging into darkness where nothing can be seen, fear reaches its peak.
Lukas continued to plead and beg, but then he felt a sharp pain, and before he could even scream, he passed out.
Blood dripped on the ground, forming a winding line, intensifying the smell of blood in the air.
“Mr. Burns, should we wake him up?” someone asked.
It would be difficult for Lukas to regain consciousness after fainting like this. Hamish shook his head and said, “Put a sack over his head and toss him in an alley.”
Compared to a painful death, being alive but worse off is more torturous. Hamish wanted Lukas to live, to witness the gradual disappearance of what he held in his hands. This was the fate he deserved for hurting Elisa.
“Clean this place up,” Hamish said, standing up and stepping over the scraps of paper on the ground.
