Chapter 141: Lila’s Distortion

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

After seeing the online trending topic about Hamish drinking with Elisa, Lila flew into a rage at home. She smashed all the decorations on the cabinet to the ground and even slapped Mrs. Gordon. Her eyes were bloodshot, her carefully applied makeup was soaked in tears, and her hair was disheveled, making her look like a madwoman.
“Miss Morris…” Mrs. Gordon covered her face, her eyes filled with fear. She never thought that someone who was usually so calm could become so violent and even lay a hand on her.
“Get out!,” Lila hoarsely shouted.
After Mrs. Gordon left in a huff, Lila collapsed on the ground, picking up her phone from the floor. The hot search keywords were all about “Hamish and Elisa’s love affair.” They were so in love, so what was she?
She was the one who initially met Hamish, and she was the one who had been there with him all along!
Those praises of Hamish’s deep love for Elisa felt like heavy thunderbolts striking her heart, causing aching echoes that pierced her to the core.
She had to reexamine the years she spent with Hamish, as fragments flashed through her mind.
Suddenly, her phone vibrated, bringing Lila back to reality. Subconsciously hoping it was Hamish calling to explain, she flipped over the phone and saw the number she least wanted to see.
Hugo.
She clenched the phone tightly, struggling with her thoughts, and just as the ringtone was about to end, she answered the call.
A mocking voice immediately came from the other end, “I thought you wouldn’t answer my call.”
“What would happen if I didn’t?,” Lila asked.
Hugo paused for a moment and then laughed, “Then I would keep calling again and again.”
Lila took a deep breath. “Are you threatening me?”
“Lila, how could I dare to threaten you when I love you so much? I miss you. Let’s meet at our old place.”
Lila remained silent, while the person on the other end continued, “After four years, this hotel is still the same. Lila, I want to see you at 6 o’clock tonight.”
Lila clenched her teeth and finally squeezed out a “fine” from her throat.
The other person hung up, satisfied.
Lila tightly gripped her phone and stood up. She went upstairs to change her clothes and tidy up her makeup, but no matter how she tried to hide the redness in her eyes, it was still visible.
Lila was furious. She thought about Elisa and Hamish, who were deeply in love at this moment, while she had to deal with the disgusting Hugo.
The stark contrast twisted her expression even more. She tightly held the curling comb in her hand, the teeth pressing into her palm, leaving densely packed red marks. However, she couldn’t feel any pain.
Elisa, I want you dead! Dead! Dead!
Mrs. Gordon was downstairs preparing dinner when she heard the commotion outside. She turned around and saw Lila with ink-stained hands carrying a bag, looking like she was about to leave.
“Miss Morris, are you going out again?”
“Yeah, I won’t be back tonight.” Lila changed into high heels and thought for a moment. “Remember to keep your mouth shut and don’t let Hamish know I’m going out.”
Mrs. Gordon clearly felt the chilling aura emanating from behind the sunglasses. She quickly nodded and watched as Lila got into the car and drove away, touching her still stinging cheek and shaking her head in disbelief.

Lila arrived on time for the appointment. The “old place” Hugo mentioned was the place they used to meet frequently four years ago.
In places like bars, it was common for things to happen between men and women with ambiguous relationships after drinking. The unexpected had happened the first time she met Hugo.
Since then, this man had been pestering her, claiming to love her. Lila’s eyes revealed contempt. If she didn’t have money, would he love her?
Lila looked at the room number in the text message on her phone, took the elevator to the fifth floor, and knocked on the door only after confirming the number several times.
After a few seconds, there was a sound from the door handle, and it opened with a click.
Hugo had just finished showering and was only wrapped in a towel, leaning against the bathroom door with steam billowing out. Lila could smell the fragrance of shower gel.
Hugo had a good appearance, blond hair, an earring in his left ear, and a smirk on his face. He could be described as “badly handsome” in just two words.
He exuded an air of nonchalance, while in comparison, Hamish was in a completely different league, with one in the sky and the otheron the ground. Hugo was definitely the one on the ground, and there was no comparison between him and Hamish.
“Do you want to shower?” Hugo asked.
“No,” Lila replied with a cold expression on her face as she walked in, “Why did you call me here?”
Hugo licked his lips and reached around from behind to embrace Lila, provocatively brushing her hair towards his lips.
“We haven’t seen each other for so long. Don’t you miss me?” The man’s heavy breath tickled her neck, making her feel itchy.
I want you to die, Lila cursed in her heart, biting her lower lip with a stiff expression.
Hugo could feel her resistance as he held her. The smile on his face grew deeper. He lifted Lila and threw her onto the bed, affectionately saying, “I’ve missed you so much, every day for over a thousand days in these four years.”
Lila turned her head away without struggling. She had come prepared since she had decided to come. But at the moment when Hugo spoke sweet words and kissed her, she still felt disgusted.
She carried various emotions within her, from disgust to hatred. Why did Hamish have to be so good to Elisa?
In this hatred, she willingly hooked her neck around Hugo’s, with twisted thoughts of seeking revenge on Hamish in this way.
He refused to touch her from the very beginning, right? Then she would sleep with other men. Lila was not unlovable.

Hugo held Lila in his arms, his eyes half-closed. He could sense that Lila had something on her mind. This woman was filled with malice, skilled at disguising her true intentions. But four years ago, he had seen through her tricks and knew what she cared about the most.
“Hugo, do you want money?” Lila lay on top of him, like a venomous snake. She seemed soft and boneless, but her teeth were coated with venom. One wrong move and someone would die in her embrace.
Hugo wasn’t afraid, though. He held her chin and asked, “Do you think anyone dislikes money?”
Lila grabbed the hand that held her chin, her voice filled with temptation. “Then help me kill someone.”
Hugo raised an eyebrow, his expression not surprised. “Who do you want dead?”
“Elisa.” Lila’s face remained calm, but her eyes revealed her hatred. She wanted Elisa dead. In her twisted mind, if Elisa died, everything would return to its original track, and Hamish would be hers forever.
“It seems that the accident you staged four years ago was in vain. You still haven’t dragged Elisa down,” Hugo said mockingly. Lila was a person who could be ruthless to herself, willing to do anything to achieve her goals. But it was a pity that the carefully planned accident only benefited Elisa, becoming her bridal gown.
Hugo’s tone was full of sarcasm, but Lila pretended not to hear. “Once you kill Elisa, Hamish will marry me. I’ll give you as much money as you want then.”
Hugo sneered, “Using me to commit murder? Once Hamish finds out how Elisa died, I won’t be far from death either. It’s killing two birds with one stone, Lila. Do you think I’m a fool?”
