“Let’s talk to Elisa later. What if she doesn’t agree?”
“Whether she agrees or not, she has to give birth!” Didn’t she not want to have his child? Well, he would force her to do so.
Hamish stayed with Lila until Mrs. Gordon came to inform him that Elisa had woken up, and he got up from his seat.
Lila tugged at his sleeve, “You promised to take me with you, didn’t you?”
“Are you still feeling dizzy?”
“I can walk.” Lila lifted the blanket and slowly sat up, feeling a bit dizzy after having her blood drawn, but she recovered after a moment.
Hamish held her waist and supported her as they walked together to the adjacent ward.
Elisa struggled to open her eyes and for a moment couldn’t figure out where she was. It wasn’t until she heard Mrs. Gordon calling a nurse that she came back to her senses, realizing she was in the hospital.
She stared at the IV drip above her head and then gently touched her abdomen. She could no longer feel any movement from inside.
Elisa felt a profound emptiness in her heart. She had never imagined that her child would leave her in this way.
Footsteps could be heard outside, and when Elisa heard the commotion, she looked up and saw Hamish and Lila entering, with Hamish supporting Lila.
Seeing the two of them, Elisa couldn’t control her trembling, her eyes filled with resentment.
Hamish sensed her gaze and furrowed his brows.
Lila clung to Hamish’s arm and smiled warmly, “Elisa, are you okay?”
Elisa struggled to control her emotions, her breathing suddenly became rapid, and her heart raced, her blood turning cold. “Get out!”
Lila seemed startled and shrank into Hamish’s embrace. In a hidden angle where no one could see, her dark eyes turned sinister.
Hamish lightly patted Lila’s back. “Elisa, what’s wrong with your attitude? Lila didn’t mind when you pushed her downstairs and she gave you a blood transfusion, but here you are with a deadpan face.”
“Disgusting. It makes me sick to think that I have Lila’s blood in my body.”
As soon as those words escaped her mouth, Hamish, recalling the words Lila had previously said to him, narrowed his eyes and a cold light burst forth, “What did you say?”
“I said I’m disgusted. It makes me nauseous to think that I have Lila’s blood in my body.” Elisa’s pupils contracted as they met Hamish’s crimson eyes.
Before she could react, Hamish had already rushed towards her with a fierce expression, his hands gripping her neck.
Elisa weakly groaned, the air in her body seemed to be sucked out in an instant. She opened her mouth, gasping for air, looking at the man in front of her with eyes on the verge of bursting.
At the moment of her impending death, her only regret was not being able to take revenge and make this despicable couple pay the price.
Tears welled up in her eyes due to the pain and fell onto the back of Hamish’s hand.
Feeling her tears on his hand, Hamish felt a scorching heat.
Lila had been with Hamish for so many years, but she had never seen him so furious. Afraid that he would become violent towards Elisa and attract attention, she quickly closed the door tightly.
“Hamish, didn’t you promise me not to get angry with Elisa?” Lila consoled him with her words, but in her heart, she secretly hoped that Hamish would strangle Elisa to death.
Hamish seemed to be in a trance, unable to hear Lila’s voice. He tightened his grip on Elisa’s neck and questioned, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Elisa’s confused mind was scattered by Hamish’s roar, and she regained a trace of clarity.
Seeing her face turning red and her pupils starting to lose focus, Hamish suddenly woke up, loosening his grip slightly.
Elisa, who was relieved to breathe again, couldn’t control her trembling body. She hoarsely asked, “Tell you what?”
“Why didn’t you tell me that you were pregnant? Did you not want to have my child at all?”
With her delicate neck still in Hamish’s grip, Elisa moved her pale lips, like a fish pulled ashore, gasping for breath. She weakly looked at Hamish, who was in front of her, and suddenly tugged at the corners of her lips, smiling.
Elisa’s hair was disheveled, and tears hung on her long lashes. She trembled as she raised her hand and placed it on Hamish’s wrist. Her cold little hand stimulated Hamish’s senses, andhe involuntarily loosened his grip completely.
Elisa suddenly couldn’t control her coughing, and her tears flowed even more. Her frail body arched into a curve on the bed, and her tears stained a large area of the bedsheet.
“Yes, even if I hadn’t lost it this time, I would have gone to the hospital for an abortion. Hamish, you and I were never meant to be. Why should I bear your child and give birth to it? It makes me sick!”
Once again, Hamish heard these words, and he was truly angry. He stared at Elisa with a fierce gaze. “So, you used my hand to kill our child, didn’t you?”
Hamish had already decided on this answer. Combined with what Lila had said earlier, some answers had already been ingrained in his mind.
Elisa didn’t want to have his child, and she had planned to terminate the pregnancy long ago.
Hamish fixed his gaze on Elisa’s pale neck, and his hand reached out again, feeling the artery pulsating rapidly, as if a single squeeze could make it burst.
Elisa’s skin was fair, and after being squeezed by Hamish, it left several handprints that looked horrifying. Ignoring the presence of Lila behind him, he directly pressed down on Elisa, biting her shoulder fiercely until blood flowed, refusing to let go.
It wasn’t until the woman beneath him began to convulse that he released his teeth from her ear and gritted his teeth, “Elisa, how heartless you are! You killed our child!”
Elisa trembled all over, her ears buzzing. She curled up on the bed, shivering and trembling, her eyes red as if they could drip blood.
Seeing the man who blamed her for all the guilt, Hamish had completely lost his mind. His ferocious appearance was like a demon fallen into hell, and at this moment, he reached out his hand, wanting to drag Elisa down with him.
“Elisa, you owe me a child!”
