Chapter Eight – Painful Death

Book:Bloody Comeback Of My Alpha Mate Published:2024-6-4

My mate smiles as I heave a sigh of relief. I can now see him clearly. It seems like he has been working so hard on his plan to revenge on my father.
“What’s the new plan?” I whisper into his ears. Though his body seems like a whoosh in the air if I touch it.
“I was able to meet the moon goddess yesterday. She told me I can’t lay my hands on your father yet.” He tells me, but I feel discouraged. That shows in my facial expression.
“I know it’s not a good news. But don’t worry, I’ve got this. I have a better option if I still want you. And that’s for you to come to this ghost world. But that won’t really pay us.”
“I suggested it earlier but you sounded off.” I retort. “Any ways, I and Jim and Mirabel will try our best to trap him. After he’s trapped, we’ll call you over to kill him. Ain’t that a good plan?”
“It is.” He retorts, but chuckles evilly. It starts to seem eerie till I caution him to be more direct as I don’t have a gap in my head to entertain memes or jokes at this time.
“I can’t kill him, Lisa.” He tells me, point-blank. “Except I kill you, too.”
“Kill me then.” I profess. Tears start dropping from my eyes. I don’t notice on time until he helps me clean them with his palms.
“I won’t kill you. I’ll rather obey the moon goddess.” He eventually says, sparking my interest to know more.
“And… what’s that about?” I ask, and like smoke, he disappears into thin air. I touch the air but I feel a more rigid body with a wrinkled face.
“Jim?” I ask, trying to get a glimpse of who the person is.
“Not the usual Jim.” The person retorts and cackles. I take a step backwards and he takes a step forwards.
“Then, who?!” I almost yell and scream but my voice starts to fail and depreciate in intensity. “Where is Mirabel?”
Then, the man points his finger at a direction where I can see Jim and Mirabel tied to a tree and struggling to get free. I shake my head as my eyes start to get reddened. I hope it is a nightmare.
“Jim?!” I yell at him and he looks at me with his sullen eyes. How come this happened within a few seconds that I spoke with my mate?
“Hey you!” The stranger knocks his fist on my forehead. “Don’t call my name rudely!”
I roll my eyes at him, which makes him surprised to his bones. I rather hiss and walk away, straight to where Jim and Mirabel are tied.
“Who hurt you this way?” I gently ask as my heart can no longer behold both of them in pain. As I intend to rise to my feet, I rather stretch my back, only to see a sharp dagger approaching with the intention to stab me real well. I dodge that but unfortunately for Jim, it goes straight into his belly. He stops struggling for breath, at once. His head lands on a stone that’s almost falling to the ground. My head vibrates immediately as Mirabel becomes stable at once, we both staring at Jude’s dead body. At once, I’m being reminded that he’s a wolf, and he’ll surely heal himself but a voice, like one from an unknown place, speaks into my ears immediately.
“What if the stab had a wolfsbane attached to it?”
I gasp as I hear that. I gasp the second time when I hear the scream escaping Mirabel’s lips.
“Run!!!” She yelps, like someone who has been on it for a while. It seems I’m the one just noticing that. I realize I’m about to be tied and killed as well.
Jim died in my place. I try to tell Mira that I won’t leave her. And that, I’ll rather die with her but she hits me hard, cusses at me and screams at me until I give in to escape and leave her behind. I see her skull being slashed. A hot tear drops from my eyes but I hide beside a dark tree where I can’t be seen. Another stranger lashes her chest and kicks her head off of her neck but it still seems attached in the least way.
I hold my palms together and try to summon my mate but he doesn’t seem near to me at all. I see those strangers passing in front of where I’m hiding, sniffing the scent around me.
If only my mate has taught me how to hide my scent. If only Dad had given us the freehand to relate better with ourselves, then I won’t be lagging behind now. I try to escape through the back end of the tree but in a way they won’t notice me. I have no idea of how fast their wolf is but I promise to shift to my wolf once they catch me red-handed or they look more violent than I expect.
While I make a move to raise my leg, their gaze are being fixed at me immediately. My heart drops to my feet as I realize that and I jerk the obstacles away with all my energy. As I stand up, I see a legion of them waiting for me, blocking all escape routes. I sigh, knowing really well that even if narrowly, I’ll still escape.
I throw my head backwards as my bones snap and my body system changes to a different one. From the normal skin to a hairy one and a thick muscle, with a thicker feet. All I see last is, they approach me to attack me.
Until my wolf takes control, and I sight that on that is always there for me in times of trouble. I see him standing at a distance, and beckoning unto me to move closer. I aim to get there on time but as my werewolf sight becomes activated, I realize I am on the losing side of these strangers and that my mate is only bidding me goodbye by waving at me since he knows I can’t win them. This agitated fear within me, as I push all of them away immediately. My wolf gets angrier and I want to wait for them to regain their power and fight me so I’ll conquer them but I have a rethink immediately.
I run to my mate and catch hold of him, and disappear with him as well.
“Hey!” He scratches my hands off of him and rebukes me sternly. “… don’t you ever touch me!”
It seems wild to me as I look upon him as the only succour right now. And again, he’s never reacted that way. My mind flashes around to think about what might have made him react that way. But I appreciate that he voices it out before my mind goes berserk.
“Why did you allow them to die?” He asks me with a bitter spirit, evidently.
“Oh… Jim and Mira?” I ask. I start to shed tears once again but he doesn’t console me. Rather, he hits me and kicks me away. He threatens to disappear and never reappear again.
“Don’t you have the power to wake them up?!” I yell at him, my spirit getting sadder about the event. “I think, you said, wolves don’t die?!”
“When did I say that?” He deadpans. I change my mood immediately I hear the flat voice. It seems he’s stopped being emotional.
“Wolves die. Yes or No?” I ask him, patiently. I stare straight into his eyes as my eyes grow more teary, threatening to drop down my cheek.
“They don’t. But they can be injured for almost their lifetime. And finally, they do, but better said, they don’t. Just have it at the back of your mind that only vampires are immortal. All other bodies and powers are mortal, though very strong than you can ever imagine.” He tells me. Though I seem confused initially, I try to grab a point from his words. I sigh and wipe my tears off of my eyes, myself. I ask him what the next step is but he rather walks away.
“Don’t follow me!!!” He screams. His voice echoes as though we’re in an empty building. But I run after him. I can’t be left behind in a strange place, not even when my supporters died in my very sight.
And just like that, thunder rumbles at me and the gateway shuts after struggling to enter successfully. He stares back at me in a wild way.
“What?” I shallowly ask.
“Welcome to the Ghost Dorm.” He retorts, a word after the other. My eyes widen in shock as I try to push the door open but it was all to no avail.
“Why did you come in the first place?” His voice echoes multiple times. I sniffle and try to convince him to let me out. “I have no power to do so. And that has brought a stain to our moving plan. Lisa, that wasn’t right.”
I land my head on the closed door and hit it as hard as possible while I hear some approaching croaky voices.
