Chapter Nine – Damn, I Had A Nice Walk With Her

Book:Bloody Comeback Of My Alpha Mate Published:2024-6-4

“Don’t make any noise. Just follow me.” I hear this but I don’t turn to stare at the person. I remain clutched to the doorknob, sweating and freezing for the fear of being an outcast.
“Do not delay me.” The person repeats. “I say, do not delay me.” At this time, I decide to look back but squint my eyes so I won’t be as scared as I think I’ll be. As I do, I do not see anyone. I hear the voice once more but I scream, with my two palms clutched around my head.
“Leave me alone! I can’t find you.” I scream and silence looms the atmosphere. This place becomes more silent than a grave. If you breathe, it’ll make noise like a cymbal.
“Mate?” I slowly hear this again as I try to tiptoe to a corner to hide. “Come on in.”
And then a door opens unto me. As I run into the door, my muscles contract and the hair in my body stand on end. Goosebumps creep up my skin and I start breathing out very fast.
I see my wolf suddenly in a deserted forest, breathing heavily, trying to revive me and itself. I cough out loud after several minutes of self revival. My eyes open to realize where I am, and they widen in shock when I realize I’m back to life.
Is this good news or bad news?
Well, while in the Ghost world, my mate wasn’t so present. Probably, that’s why he doesn’t want us to get mated in the Ghost world. He knows he won’t have my time at all and due to that, another wolf might walk up to me and seize me. The moon goddess already bound us together but I think the moon goddess should make it easier for him since I’m his mate but no.
Fight for what belongs to you – that’s the moon goddess’ verdict.
“Young wolf, are you lost?” A short woman walks up to me and asks. I perceive she is not a wolf, but just a human. The smile on her face is so enticing.
“Hi, no.” I reply, shortly. “I came here on a purpose. I’m… I’m heading… out, now.” I lie to her and head towards the left direction which I perceive it’s the right way but her gazes negate my perception.
“Why the stares?” I look back and question. “I don’t like it. I asked a question. Come on.”
She doesn’t even reply. Her gazes are still fixed at me while some smirks escape from her lips. I scurry over to the corner of the direction I’m heading to, so as to get to my destination on time.
Within a matter of a few seconds, she taps my shoulder as I freeze, too shocked to believe how fast she’s caught up with me.
“Dear, that’s not the right way.” She tells me, silently. “Take that route instead.” She points at the east direction, correcting silly me that headed to the north direction.
“Oh, thank you so much.” I appreciate and force a smile as I change my direction immediately but she follows me. I gently look back again, though my mind is not gentle at the moment, “Thank you, I appreciate.” I say, with the hope that she’ll leave.
“I heard you the first time.” She retorts. “I’ll like to see you off. Don’t worry, I’m not dangerous.” She says, giving me the replies I need, though I never asked the question directly.
“Would you like a quicker lift?” She suddenly asks when she realizes how far our journey still is, to get to our destination.
“You mean, shifting?”I retort sharply but she shakes her head to tell me NO. “Then, what do you mean?”
“We call it shuttle in our pack house.” She starts to lecture me. “Werewolves call it shifting, so we don’t.”
“Werewolves call it shifting, so we don’t.” This statement rings multiple times in my head as I strive to get my feet and whole body system out of her vicinity but I calm my nerves down and chuckle.
“You’re not a wolf?” I ask, and tell myself I got it since I had earlier thought she’s a human.
“I’ll let you know who I am once we get to our destination, but I’m not a Werewolf.”
“You won’t be able to defend me. And then, I’ll be held responsible for your lack of defence, in case you get injured at any time.” I complain. “I’m sorry, but I’ll love to walk alone.”
“Did I tell you we have more powers than the wolves do?” She makes a statement.
And then we graduate from a dark area to a lighted environment. I breathe in and out when I see Citizens trooping out and getting into different buildings. It’s the city. I try to shut her up and send her back to the forest but she follows me still.
I’m ashamed of the clothes she put on. Such person should not walk with me.
“You can’t enter the city with this attire, except you want to be laughed at.” I tell it to her but she smiles.
Why’s she smiling?
She jumps down from the hill and follows me from behind.
“I might have to call the police if you don’t stop following me. What the hell.” I bawl at her and she smirks again.
“You could have done that earlier.” She retorts, with her hands akimbo.
I try to run away but she holds me and lets me stand straight. Then I see a guy walking up to us. I expect the guy to catch up with where we are soonest so I’ll report this woman to him.
“Hi man.” I wave at him and he directs his vision at me.
“Hey.” His voice sounds so lovely. “What can I do for you?”
“I’m being threatened. And she’s holding me down still. This is physical violence and it’s punishable under the law.” I say and he scoffs.
“Who’s holding you down?” He asks and starts to suspect me.
“Pardon?” I become confused. “Can’t you see the woman holding me down, the one right beside me?”
He shakes his head. “Sorry. When next you’re ready, call for the police. I can’t see anyone right beside you. Well, it’s better for you to call the psychiatrist.”
“I don’t understand you. I only asked for an offer of help.” I say but he shows me his middle fingers clearly. A guy soon walk up to us and I tell him same thing. His replies sound cold and annoying, also seeing me as stranger or crazy.
“Why can’t you be seen?!” I yell at the woman.
“I’m a Ghost!!” She reveals as my eyes widen in shock. “I’ve been watching you try anything you want to try. No one will rescue you.”
“Why have you decided to torment my life?” I ask her, with my shaky voice.
“I’m rather here to help you with your mission if you’re ready to cooperate.” She tells me. “I know who your mate is, and I know how best you’ve been trying to make that vision come to pass. The vision of getting mated to one of the honorables in the Ghost world.”
“How did you die?”
“Save that for later. Let’s get you back to your father’s pack house. Shall we?”
“Yes, we shall.” I reply. “But, hold on, are you using shuttle or shifting?”
“We don’t shift, as I earlier let you know. But close your eyes and tighten your arms. By the time you open your eyes, you’ll see yourself in his room. Agree?”
“Agree.” I say and just like that, within a matter of ten seconds, I see myself in my dad’s room. His pack has grown bigger since we left, though not too long we left. He’s had another Beta, another honorable called James. I sneak under his bed when he jerks the door open. It feels like he’s heard the sound of my movement before he enters.
“Who came in?” He angrily screams as he hits the door severally. Until his men came unto him, he doesn’t stop banging the door like a local asshole. “Find out.. search the room. Anyone that you find will either be a rouge or will be killed.”
My heart gasp as I hear those words. I feel like coming out to run away but I’ll be easily caught. I breathe in once again as I look at them, searching everywhere for any intruder. Seems Dad got a notice through some kind of power or technology because I don’t know how that could have happened.
One of the soldiers later come to my side. He stares at me and I wink at him. He moves closer and I give him a peck, whispering into his ears, “Please, let me be safe. I’ll give you your desires.”
“Have you investigated everywhere?” Dad asks, with anger written all over his face. They all nod and leave, except Dad.
