After my conversation with Bryan, we never talked again.
I hate him, I also hate Gian!
Who do they think they are to play with my best friend’s feeling? Even if they have good intentions but they are still wrong, because in the end I know my best friend will still be hurt.
Even if I wanted Liz to move on from Bryan for me to have an excuse to let myself fall for him, still I will not choose to betray my best friend.
What if my best friend fall for that guy, then that guys don’t have any feelings for her?! For sure my best friend will be hurt and end up crying.
Hey Alex stop thinking about Bryan! You need to be ready for your family dinner tonight.
I was shocked when my daddy called me to inform me that we will be having a family dinner tonight.
I was suddenly nervous because during our last family dinner, daddy announced my older brother’s wedding without my older brother’s knowledge.
See how awesome my family is?! My brother was the one who will get married but he is not aware of it!
Yes guys you heard it right. In our family, arrange marriage is still a trend.
Actually I will not be surprised if my fiancé is the result of arrange marriage because from my grandfather to my older brothers it was purely arranged marriage, and the result was good.
In the end they learn to love each other, though it will be dramatic at first.
But if my future husband is to be introduced to me, what will happen to me and Bryan?
The atmosphere feels so awkward. Everyone is quietly eating. This is the situation we had when my father announced the marriage of my 2 older brothers. So this is it?
Alex relax. Don’t be so assuming? Maybe you are just thinking too much. Tonight is not the announcement of your wedding. So relax!
I was in the middle of calming myself down when Daddy spoke.
“Everyone. I ask you all here because I have an announcement to make.” My dad started his speech.
I swallowed hard. This is really is it I guess? I need to say goodbye to Bryan then.
My dad looked at me. It made me feel so nervous. I swallowed hard again. I think this is really is it…
“Alexandria.” My dad called me.
“D-dad?” I just said.
I am really feeling nervous. Nerve wracking moment!
“Are you dating someone right now?” He ask me seriously.
“I am not seeing anyone dad.” I honestly told him.
Thought I do have some that I like. I want to add that but I just shrugged.
“Good. So we won’t have a problem them.” My dad said.
Everyone was quiet and waiting for what Daddy would say next.
“I know that all of you already have an idea why we are having a dinner together tonight. And yes. The reason of this dinner is to announce the wedding of Alexandria.” He finally said it.
I can’t do anything but to closed my eyes. So I was right. I will be getting married.
“Are you alright Lex?” Thomas (my older brother) asked me.
I just gave him a forced smile. “Of course I’m okay. I already expected it. It’s nothing surprising”
“Don’t worry honey. I assure you that Nicholas is a good man.” My mom said.
I smiled at her. “So Nicholas is his name.”
“Yes honey. He is the only son of Chloe and Damian Romualdez, the owner of Romualdez Corporation. Damian is my college friend. I know that they are good people. That’s why I chose their son for you. I chose him not just for our company but for you as well honey. I know he will take care of you just as we take care of you.” My mom sincerely said.
I smiled. I know that apart from business, our parents still think of us.
They are not like others who are only looking at pure business, they still consider our future with whom we will get along.
That is also probably the reason why all the marriage life of our family is successful. So I guess I have no reason to refuse?
‘What will happen to Bryan now?’ I ask myself.
What will I do with my feelings for Bryan now?
