Chapter 35

Book:Chasing His Ex-wife Published:2024-6-4

Did Vivian think about it? What was there to think about? All her life, she had always wanted someone who would spoil her and give her the treatment only given to a queen.
Even if Vivian succeeded in fooling everyone, she could not fool herself. She knew right from the onset that she wanted Ash to be that kind of man.
“I’ll be there, Mr. Lincoln.”
“Mr. Lincoln? Oh, spare me such formalities. I would like to think that what happened the other day was more than enough to kill these formalities. It makes me feel sick.”
“But Sir…”
“Shh! I don’t want to hear any “Sir” or “Mr.”
“Alright then, I’ll be there…Lincoln.”
Vivian’s voice was so relaxing, Mr. Lincoln just wanted to…wanted to…it’s rather preferred it remain unsaid. Moreover, there were no sure words to explain exactly how Mr. Lincoln felt when he heard Vivian say she was going to come over.
“I’ll send my driver to fetch you from your home. Please do not say no to me.”
Just as if Mr. Lincoln knew, Vivian was going to say no to him. Not that she was saying he shouldn’t send his driver to fetch her, all she was saying was that they needed to play safe. Actually, she needed to play safe, just her. A man like Mr. Lincoln was just as powerful as Easton Landers. He had nothing to lose, unlike Vivian.
“Your driver can’t come over to my place to pick me up, it might look suspicious if my boyfriend finds him here.”
“I thought you were all alone today.”
“Of course, I am. But you know how things can be. He might decide to suddenly show up a d that’s going to be disastrous.”
Mr. Lincoln laughed –
“Fine! Fine! I know how these common men behave when they have such beauty. They’ll always want to pull up a surprise visit.”
It was good for Vivian’s game that Mr. Lincoln chose to understand her situation. She was just en route to making a hell of fortune for herself, at least, so she thought.
Mr. Lincoln was such a promiscuous man. He had been married five times and all of them ended in divorce. What was always the cause?
Infidelity!
He had a weakness of always trying to woo any attractive young woman he set his eyes on. Luckily for him, he was most of the time very successful in having his way with them. The number of failed marriages he had was evidence to attest to this fact. He found it easy because of his money and affluence. He could give them the life they only had in their dreams. The luxury that only Disney princesses possessed.
“Where is my driver going to pick you up, then?”
“The eatery at the junction, the one close to the street I live in.”
It was all set, before Vivian could shower and dress to kill, she was informed by Mr. Lincoln that his driver was already waiting for her at the agreed place of pick up.
Ash kept calling and texting, even when Vivian was still putting in her clothes but she refused to pick up the call. She continuously hummed joyously as she adorned her body with sweet scenting fragrant perfumes.
“If he could spend so much on our first meeting, I wonder what he’s going to do now!” Vivian kept this in mind as she prepared to meet him.
When she finally decided to answer Ash’s call, she lied shamelessly to him that she was going to visit a friend.
“You clearly know that we were supposed to sit and talk about this, right?”
“We aren’t. You weren’t wrong, it was just the way you made your point that got me upset. I forgive you because I understand you.”
Vivian was ready to let that pass just so Ash could let her meet up with Mr. Lincoln with the disguise that she was going to see her friend and she succeeded.
When she got to Mr. Lincoln’s house, she was starstruck by its magnificence and beauty. It was as beautiful as a castle, if not more beautiful. Judging from the expression on Vivian’s face, Mr. Lincoln could tell she was impressed.
“You like what you see?” He asked her.
“Like? No way! I can’t lie this…” Vivian paused for a mini – second. She screamed in excitement –
“I love it! It’s so beautiful!”
Yeah, that was more than what Mr. Lincoln expected to hear. He blushed like an eighteen year old girl who had just found love for the first time. He was more than ready to give Vivian anything she wanted.
Mr. Lincoln had his chef prepare the best dish for Vivian and got her the best wine in his bar.
“Isn’t this up to a million dollars?” Vivian asked immediately after Lincoln presented the wine on the dining table.
“It is,” he said, rubbing her glamorous chin.
“And you’re willing to let it all go because of me? I thought you’d like it best for a business partner.”
“Silly you. You are worth more than a million dollars, my queen. I know your boyfriend never really made you perceive your worth but that is why I have come into your life, to make you know you do not deserve to be where you are.”
Mr. Lincoln had such sweet words. He was a magician when it came to having his way with the ladies, the young, fresh, pretty ones to be precise.
After Lincoln had the chef serve Vivian the meal, he dismissed her as well as other workers in the mansion. He made sure that there was no one around when he was with Vivian.
“You eat like an Angel.”
Mr. Lincoln was so full of compliments, some of which were extremely funny and uncalled for.
Vivian was done eating and feeling herself. But was Lincoln done? He was far from even getting started.
“I have a car and some gold necklaces I’d like you to have,” he whispered into the ear of Vivian.
“Wow! Can I see them now?”
“Nope! I mean, you’ll have to do something for me first.” Lincoln laughed.
