Chapter 283 Ending 6

Book:The Revenge of My Alluring Wife Published:2024-6-4

Christopher and Scarlett, now wealthy, rented a boat at the dock. They planned to escape to a neighboring country first, then find a suitable place to settle down.
After going up, both of them stood on the deck in extremely good spirits. Christopher gazed at the vast sea and pulled Scarlett into his arms. “Darling, meeting you in this lifetime is my luck.”
Scarlett shyly nodded. “I feel the same.”
Christopher kissed her and began to open the package in Scarlett’s hand. “Now, let me see.”
Scarlett allowed Christopher to open the package eagerly. Both of them were filled with anticipation, but their expressions turned dumbfounded as they saw what was inside.
“What’s going on?” Christopher grabbed a bunch of old newspapers. “Scarlett, is this what you called a billion?”
Newspapers, everything had turned into newspapers. From jewelry to cash to cards, all the valuable stuff had turned into worthless old newspapers.
Scarlett couldn’t believe her eyes. “How is this possible? These things were clearly valuable stuff I kept. How could they all turn into this overnight?”
She thought about the anomalies that had occurred over the past two days…
“It’s that little bitch!”
“That little bitch knew I was leaving, so she deliberately rushed over today. Her goal was to replace the stuff before I took them away.”
As she spoke, a cold voice sounded behind them.
“Scarlett, you’re quite clever.”
At the sound of the voice, they both turned around. Evelyn appeared on the deck.
“You little bitch, it’s really you.”
“Where are the stuff ?”
“What stuff ?” Evelyn raised an eyebrow. “When did you give me anything?”
“You dare say? Today, all the servants are gone. Except for me, you, and James in the villa. Besides you, who else would switch my things?”
Scarlett stood up and glanced at Christopher beside her, signaling him with her eyes. “I advise you, return the stuff to me obediently. Perhaps we can still spare your life.”
“Do you know how your bitch mother died?”
“Back then, James and I also gave her a chance, but she refused.”
“If she had obediently given me a kidney, both of us could have survived. I wouldn’t have had to arrange that car accident.”
As if recalling the scene at that time, Scarlett’s eyes widened in anger. “What I hate the most is that the car accident didn’t kill you, you little bitch!”
Her words were like a key, unlocking Evelyn’s memories bit by bit. Her mother’s numb driving, tearful face, and the expression of utter lack of will to live during the accident.
It turned out it was all thanks to her and James.
Evelyn clenched her fists tightly.
Christopher had already moved beside her, brandishing a knife, ready to hold it against Evelyn’s neck. However, his raised wrist was suddenly restrained by a powerful force.
Then, a sharp ‘crack’ resounded, and excruciating pain shot through his entire body via his wrist. The knife fell to the ground, and Christopher’s wrist was bent at a ninety-degree angle, hanging limply.
“You bitch, you despicable bitch,” Christopher cried out in agony as he knelt on the ground. He looked at Scarlett and roared, “Come on, what are you waiting for?”
“She’s just a little bitch, can’t she handle the two of us?”
Scarlett wasn’t foolish. She was too scared to approach.
Where did that bitch Evelyn get her strength from? She actually… she actually broke the arm of an adult man.
“Scarlett, hurry!” Christopher bellowed. “If you don’t act now, we’ll never be able to leave here in our lifetime. She already knows about your escape plan. Do you think The Taylor family won’t find out? Which member of The Taylor family would let you go?”
Not being accepted by The Taylor family was Scarlett’s greatest pain. Her eyes reddened with the provocation from Christopher. She was ready to take action, but Evelyn suddenly chuckled.
“Do you think she would deal with me? Christopher, you’re being too naive.”
Evelyn turned her head and glanced indifferently at Christopher’s stunned face. “Your planned route was so secretive. How do you think I found you?”
Afterwards, she smiled at Scarlett. “Thanks to you, otherwise Christopher wouldn’t have been caught. ”
“But his assets seem to be not much, I can’t make this trip for nothing. The previous agreement of splitting four to six is invalid. I want a fifty-fifty split.”
“You… what nonsense are you spouting?”
“Christopher, don’t listen to this little bitch’s nonsense. I have no idea about any fifty-fifty split,” Scarlett protested.
Evelyn chuckled, “Isn’t it what you said? Christopher no longer has any value to you, so you set up this scheme to squeeze out his last bit of profit, right?”
“Where did you hide that package? Dad can’t find it at home, and he’s getting anxious.”
Her words, which sounded plausible yet fake, made the already suspicious Christopher feel like his head was about to explode. “You bitch, I treated you so well, and you actually conspired against me with outsiders.”
Christopher was powerless against Evelyn, so he picked up the knife with his other hand and swiftly moved to Scarlett’s side. The blade was directly placed against Scarlett’s neck.
“No, no, no,” Scarlett’s legs trembled. “Let me go, I really didn’t plot against you.”
“Evelyn, you explain it for me. I absolutely didn’t cooperate with you,” Scarlett demanded.
Evelyn stared at her, neither admitting nor denying, until Christopher was about to lose patience. She finally nodded. “Yes, We really aren’t in cahoots.”
“And that package is indeed with me.”
She rummaged through her bag and pulled out what Scarlett had originally prepared. The stuff were placed in a transparent bag, clearly visible inside.
Scarlett breathed a sigh of relief and explained to Christopher, “See, I really didn’t deceive you.”
Christopher loosened his grip, but Evelyn, under his gaze, stepped towards the railing.
“I originally wanted the two of you to destroy each other. But suddenly I had a burst of inspiration and changed my mind.”
She looked at the dark sea, slowly extending the hand holding the bag over the railing, smiling. “If I let go, you will really have nothing.”
Christopher hastily waved his hand. “Please, don’t do it.”
Evelyn said, “Well, it depends on your choice.”
“Christopher, do you want money, or do you want Scarlett?”
Christopher urgently asked, “What do you mean?”
“Kill her, and all this money is yours,” Evelyn gloated, glancing at Scarlett, “But if you have deep feelings for each other, you can watch this bag being thrown into the sea. In that case, I will let both of you go.”
Her hand shook as she spoke, and Christopher felt his heart trembling along with it.
“Be careful, be a little more careful.”
Scarlett, seeing how much he cared about money, began to panic. She pleaded tearfully, “As long as we are together, we can earn it back. You can’t abandon me after more than a decade of love.”
“Yes, more than a decade of love,” Christopher murmured softly.
Scarlett couldn’t see the madness in his eyes and thought that love had triumphed over profit. She was about to continue persuading, but the knife had already pressed into her flesh.
“Over a decade of love, I gave up my job for you. I lied, harmed others, did all kinds of unethical things. So, now it’s time for you to repay me,”
“Darling, I understand the human body enough to ensure you won’t feel any hurt,”
Scarlett screamed and shook her head, “No… I’ll give you money. My daughter is the heiress of The Reid family. She’s wealthy, she…”
Before she could finish her words, her neck was heavily slashed.
Scarlett’s eyes widened in disbelief as blood gushed from her neck. Confronted with Evelyn’s almost bloodthirsty gaze, Scarlett deeply regretted why she hadn’t seized the chance to eliminate this despicable woman earlier.
Scarlett injures an artery and the blood drains quickly. She was thrown to the ground by Christopher.
Christopher glanced at her, his eyes showing no emotion. He kicked her to make sure she was dead. “She’s dead. Can I have the stuff now?”
“Sure,” Evelyn shook the stuff in her hand but made no move to retract her hand within the railing. “As long as you can catch them, these things are yours.”
“What do you mean?” Christopher asked.
Evelyn replied, “Just the literal meaning.”
“I promised to give them to you but didn’t specify how. It’s up to your abilities whether you can get them or not.”
“You…”
“Christopher!” Evelyn raised her voice, “You were also involved in what happened to my mother. I didn’t kill you, that was my bottom line. So, you have no choice.”
“I’ll count to three. One… Three!”
Seeing that she skipped ‘two’ and directly shouted three, Christopher cursed angrily and jumped over the railing.
Evelyn looked at the splashes in the sea and then at the distance between the boat and the dock, shaking her head. For money, they were willing to throw away their lives.
She didn’t force these two; it was their voluntary choice.
Applause suddenly came from behind her.
