Chapter 281 Ending 4

Book:The Revenge of My Alluring Wife Published:2024-6-4

The next day, Evelyn received a call from Zebulon. He had injured his foot while watering the plants and needed to see a doctor. Evelyn had no choice but to take a leave to accompany him.
As she helped Zebulon out of the car, she noticed that the hospital seemed familiar. Following the directions of a nurse, she arrived at the door of a surgeon.
Looking at the nameplate, Evelyn’s gaze sharpened.
Christopher!
The doctor Zebulon was going to see turned out to be Scarlett’s lover. Was this a coincidence, or was it part of their scheme?
At that moment, the door opened, revealing Scarlett’s face. She glanced at Zebulon first, then casually swept her gaze over Evelyn.
“Dad, why do you have to come with her?” She paused for a moment.
Originally, Evelyn had planned to deal with Scarlett and James after finishing her current tasks. But since they were so eager, she might as well deal with them first.
Zebulon kept silence.
Scarlett closed her mouth and changed her tone. “Dad, let’s go see the doctor.”
With that, she led Zebulon inside and instructed Evelyn, “You… Just wait outside.”
Evelyn leaned against the door indifferently. She hadn’t planned to go in anyway. She was afraid that if she saw Christopher’s face, she wouldn’t be able to resist strangling him, which would jeopardize her entire plan.
Her hearing was sharp. Even outside the door, she could hear a strange man continuously recommending a new medicine to Zebulon.
As for the new medicine, well! If Evelyn wasn’t mistaken, it was James’s attempt to pull the same trick again, but in a different way.
Evelyn opened her phone, found Gavin’s number, and quickly dialed.
“How are the people I asked you to prepare?”
Gavin thought for a moment. “Everything’s perfect, ready at any time.”
She glanced at the time. “Then send them over, now.”
She hung up decisively. At that moment, the door in front of her also opened, and Zebulon walked out with a serious expression. Scarlett followed behind, her face obviously displeased with the outcome just now.
“Dad. The doctor said you should start treatment as soon as possible. I also investigated and found that many people have been cured of their injuries by him. Considering your age…”
Zebulon glanced at her disapprovingly, then said firmly, “Start with the X-rays, and Evelyn will accompany me.”
“But…” Scarlett wanted to say something more, but Evelyn had already stepped forward to stand beside Zebulon.
“Let’s go, Grandpa,” she said, giving Scarlett a warning look.
After the two left, Scarlett kicked the door in frustration and went back inside. Christopher was still organizing documents. When he saw her expression, he quickly put everything down and walked over to pull Scarlett into his arms. “Darling, what’s wrong?”
“It’s that old man again, he doesn’t trust me, insists on listening to that bitch Evelyn.”
Christopher explained, “Sweetheart, brainwashing takes time. You can’t rush it.”
“Not rush it? You all tell me not to rush. Can my body wait? A healthy kidney on the black market is selling for over thirty million. James, that useless fellow, couldn’t possibly come up with that much money.”
Christopher frowned as he listened. “It’s all my fault for not being able to give you a better life. Don’t worry, I’ll call the patient now and have Zebulon witness the effects of this medicine with his own eyes.”
He didn’t believe Zebulon would remain indifferent to the effects of this medicine.
“Alright, don’t worry.” Christopher lowered his head and took the opportunity to kiss Scarlett on the cheek.
Only then did Scarlett show a hint of a smile. “Then I’ll trust you once again.”
“Hehe, since I’m so good to you, how do you plan to thank me?” Christopher’s hand began to roam over her body.
A knock on the door rang out.
Christopher withdrew his hand, “These patients who have used the new medicine might be here to beg for more. When Zebulon sees how difficult it is to obtain it, he will definitely be tempted.”
“What are we waiting for then? I’ll go get that old man back. ” Scarlett instructed.
Christopher nodded.
Scarlett walked ahead to open the door. However, just as she unlocked it, a forceful push came from outside. The violently pushed door slammed into Scarlett, sending her flying out, and blood flowing from her nose and mouth.
“Christopher!” Scarlett shouted furiously. “This is your patient!?”
Christopher’s expression turned serious. “Using my medicine to save people like you is simply a waste. Get out of here, and I won’t sell it to you again.”
The man leading the group suddenly kicked Christopher with all his might.
Caught off guard, Christopher crashed into the desk.
He held his waist in pain, roaring, “The medicine I developed, I’ll sell it to you if I want. If I don’t want to, even if you resort to any means, I won’t…”
Upon hearing him mention the medicine, the man became even angrier. He turned and pulled in a hospital bed. “It’s because of your damn new medicine that my wife died shortly after using it. Christopher, you devil who harms people, I’ll tear you.”
The cloth covering the bed was pulled back to reveal a woman with a deathly pale complexion. She had been dead for who knows how many days, her face slightly swollen and terrifying.
Christopher quickly retreated.
The commotion had attracted a crowd, and people were talking.
At that moment, Evelyn and Zebulon returned, still holding the X-rays.
“Evelyn,” Zebulon’s hand trembled as he leaned on his cane. “Go back, find another hospital.”

The news about the hospital quickly spread, and within two hours, Christopher went from being a surgeon to a universally despised figure.
He hid at home, unaware of who had leaked his address. Now his doorstep was crowded with people, making it impossible to escape.
Scarlett’s mood was even worse than his. “I shouldn’t have come back with you. What do we do now? How am I supposed to leave? There are reporters outside, and it’s being broadcast live. If it reaches The Taylor family’s ears, how am I going to explain?”
Christopher gave her a disdainful look. “You’re my woman, you don’t need to go out.”
“Christopher!” Scarlett exclaimed angrily. “We agreed before that you would support me from behind and not interfere with my life as a wealthy…”
“What if I change my mind?” Christopher interrupted her. The thought of coming to this rundown place from the capital just for this woman, and now facing being universally despised and possibly even going to jail, infuriated him. His eyes turned red as he grabbed Scarlett’s neck and pinned her against the wall. “Don’t forget, I know everything you’ve done. If I go to jail, I’ll expose everything, including your crimes. Then none of us will have a good ending.”
“No, please,” Scarlett pleaded, fear evident in her eyes. She forced a smile. “I was just too anxious. Don’t be angry. You know, I’ve only ever loved you my whole life.”
“Then come with me. Let’s leave this place and live peacefully together.”
“But…” Scarlett looked at Christopher, a tear trickling down her cheek. “How much longer can my body hold up?”
“You can transfer all the money from James to me. If necessary, we’ll find a matching kidney, just like we did over a decade ago.”
The crazed look affected Scarlett. She couldn’t currently access money from The Taylor family, but her health was deteriorating rapidly. If she didn’t replace her kidneys in time, she might not live past six months.
She glanced at Christopher, her eyes flickering, and finally nodded in agreement. “Okay, I’ll go with you.”
Even if life became harder in the future, she could always come back and deceive James, that fool.
Their conversation came to an end, but it was all clearly heard by Evelyn. When she was at the hospital, she had planted a bug in Scarlett’s bag, and it proved useful sooner than expected.
Want to escape?? James, that deadbeat, hadn’t yet experienced the world’s treachery.
