Chapter 275 Pay Back The Money

Book:The Revenge of My Alluring Wife Published:2024-6-4

The women chattered on.
“Find the person in charge here and call the police. This kind of woman who casually breaks the rules deserves to die.”
“Having her wear ‘Magic Night’ is simply desecration.”
“Who would dare to take the dress she wore? But there must be corresponding punishment for ruining the dress.”
These remarks spread quickly as the party dispersed and soon reached Jonathan’s ears.
He had intended to go out and personally support Evelyn, but considering Evelyn’s reminder before, he restrained himself and sent his assistant Oliver instead.
Oliver was a domineering figure in the underground trading market, and everyone knew that anyone who caused trouble would have to be dealt with by him. So he had quite a fearsome reputation.
Lena recognized Oliver. When she saw him coming out, she was excited.
As far as she knew, no one had ever come out unscathed from Oliver’s hands after causing trouble. She wanted Evelyn, that wretched woman, to pay a bloody price.
People watching nearby also quickly stepped back when they saw Oliver’s stern expression. They were afraid that a fight might break out.
“Mr. Oliver,” Lena leaned in, “I’m sorry. I should have recognized it immediately and informed you.”
“Now that it has been worn for so long, shouldn’t she… be required to buy it?”
The original price of this ‘Magic Night’ was fifty million, but breaking the rules meant it had to be bought at triple the price.
One hundred and fifty million, which man would be willing to spend so much money to buy a dress for a woman? Lena didn’t believe that this wretched woman would get away with it.
Seeing Oliver considering her proposal, Lena’s eyes became even more triumphant.
The wealthy women waiting on the sidelines also seized the opportunity to criticize Evelyn.
“Such people should be absolutely banned from the underground trading market in the future. It’s disgusting.”
“Yes, not only what she wore, I wouldn’t even bother to buy anything she touched.”
“If the underground trading market has such situations again, we won’t plan to patronize it.”
“Then…” Evelyn’s gaze turned cold, and she said casually, “Get out of here.”
“Since when do you have the qualification to make decisions against the underground trading market?”
“Isn’t this little beauty too arrogant?”
“She broke the rules first, then acted recklessly. ”
“No chance now. Look, Oliver has…”
At the mention of Oliver, everyone’s gaze converged on him. Oliver slowly raised his hand.
Lena held her breath, with this punch, that wretched woman Evelyn would be finished.
But to everyone’s surprise, Oliver clasped his hands together and suddenly applauded.
“Miss Taylor is right. Anyone who has any objections to the underground trading market can leave, now!”
He roared out the words, his powerful presence instantly causing those who had been making a ruckus to freeze in place. The wealthy women who had been boasting moments ago swallowed nervously.
“We… we didn’t mean it that way. It’s just that ‘Magic Night’ hasn’t been auctioned yet, so…”
The woman tried to explain softly, but Oliver cut her off, ” ‘Magic Night’ already belongs to Miss Taylor. There will be no further auction tonight.”
“What!” Several wealthy women exclaimed in unison.
“Is this how you underground market operates? It’s clearly written on the invitation list that ‘Magic Night’ will be auctioned. Now that someone has worn it, you’re saying it won’t be auctioned anymore!” Lena yelled.
“Do you have any objections?” Oliver’s face darkened, “Then perhaps you should consider what you’ve done yourself.”
With that remark, Lena was left speechless.
Those who had seen her follow Evelyn into the restroom with a glass of wine suddenly understood.
The crowd instantly found her a bit disgusting.
“Some people really have the nerve. They dirty someone else’s dress and refuse to compensate. Even when the underground market helped her clean up her mess, and yet she still manages to cause trouble.”
“That little beauty’s original dress must also be worth ten million, right? I recall it was custom-made, the sort that might require several years of waiting.”
“Now that it’s soiled, it’s likely beyond cleaning.”
Listening to so many people siding with Evelyn, Lena felt even more unacceptable.
She stared at Oliver, “Even if I dirtied her dress, that’s between her and me.”
Oliver sneered, “So you mean we take back ‘Magic Night’ and you personally compensate Miss Taylor for the dress?”
“Of course I can,” Lena confidently lifted her chin. Just a ruined dress, even if it cost a few million, she wouldn’t mind.
Seeing her agree so readily, Evelyn quickly provided an account number.
“Nineteen million, can you pay now?”
“Nineteen million? Are you out of your mind? How could this be possible?” Lena had attended all kinds of events, and eight million was already considered top-notch.
“Evelyn, the price you’re asking for is tantamount to extortion. Aren’t you afraid I’ll call the police?”
Evelyn’s gaze gradually turned cold, “Do you need me to show you the invoice?”
“Even dare to tell such a lie of nineteen million, who knows if the invoice is genuine?” Lena remained defiant.
Oliver opened his phone and found the information of a studio. The appointments were already booked up to five years in advance.
Lena recognized the designer from that studio. She had always wanted to buy an exclusive design from them. But it was too expensive and she couldn’t get an appointment.
Thinking of Evelyn’s dress, Lena felt a panic rising within her. The style was too similar to the designs from that studio.
“It’s impossible, how could this be?” Evelyn was just a mistress, how could that man possibly afford to buy her such an expensive dress?
At that moment, Evelyn retrieved an invoice from David and handed it to Lena.
“The invoices from this designer are all unique. You can check it yourself.”
“I will check it.”
Lena hastily said a word, didn’t even take the invoice, and quickly walked towards the exit…
Oliver glanced at Evelyn, seeing her nod. He brought two men and chased after Lena through the side door.
“You wretch, want money? Dream on.” Lena cursed angrily as she approached her sports car. She tried to open the car door, but no matter how hard she tried, it wouldn’t budge.
“Need some help?” Oliver pressed against the car door, offering a friendly reminder.
Lena immediately became wary, “What do you want to do?”
“Didn’t you say you were going to pay back the money personally? Now you’re backing out and trying to run away?” Oliver suddenly brandished a knife, gleaming in the moonlight.
Lena looked at the knife with fear, taking a step back. “I-I just have something urgent to attend to and need to leave for a moment.”
The knife in Oliver’s hand swiftly twirled, “It won’t take more than a few minutes to settle the payment. Will you do it yourself, or should I help you?”
Lena couldn’t bear to part with the nineteen million, so she tried to stall. “I’m not available today, I need…”
“What do you need?” Oliver suddenly swung the knife, slicing through a strand of her hair, leaving a wisp of it on the ground, “Do you need a lesson?”
“Ah! You…” Lena screamed in horror, about to say something. But Oliver seemed unable to stop, relentlessly swinging the knife. In less than a minute, he had chopped off half of her hair.
Seeing Oliver’s gaze shift back to her face, Lena completely broke down, falling to her knees.
“No, please don’t ruin my face. I’ll pay, I’ll pay now.” Trembling, she took out her phone and started to make the transfer.
Evelyn watched this scene with keen interest through the surveillance cameras. Shortly after, a transfer confirmation appeared on her phone.
Satisfied with the outcome, Evelyn was about to check on the progress of the auction when she spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.
Mia, whom she hadn’t seen for a long time.
Evelyn’s gaze turned cold and ruthless as she fixed it on Mia, instantly sending shivers down Mia’s spine.
Spotting Evelyn in the crowd, Mia tightened her grip on the hand of the unfamiliar man beside her.
She gestured to the man and walked straight towards Evelyn.
With her head held high, Mia spoke, “Evelyn, I demand that you forget everything you just saw.”
Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh at Mia’s attitude, “You’re shameless, aren’t you?”
“Mia, have you been catering to too many men and lost your mind?”
“What nonsense are you talking about? They were just friends. Let me warn you, if you dare spread rumors in front of Jasper, I won’t let it slide.” Mia’s cheeks flushed with anger, her eyes seemingly ready to tear Evelyn apart.
Witnessing this, Evelyn became even more convinced that Mia had lost her mind. How could she become increasingly foolish?
“Your friends are quite unique, aren’t they? Seems like they’re all the type who can sleep with you in bed.” Evelyn glanced at the bald man waiting for Mia nearby, genuinely curious, “How much did he give you this time?”
