All eyes focused on Evelyn, and Lena appeared somewhat displeased. She liked the spotlight, enjoyed being the center of attention.
Turning her head to look at Evelyn, Lena instantly felt a strong sense of threat. She asked her assistant with a dark expression, “Who is that woman?”
Seeing Evelyn captivating everyone’s attention, the assistant turned back in haste upon hearing Lena’s voice, “Boss, I… I don’t know her.”
Lena’s expression turned cold, “If you don’t know, then find out.”
“If you don’t want to find out now, you can leave too.”
The assistant nodded quickly, “I’ll go now.”
Meanwhile, Evelyn had already seated herself in a corner, quietly sipping her cocktail. However, the gazes directed at her showed no signs of relenting.
Lena was furious. She hated everything more beautiful than her, so encountering someone like that meant she had to destroy them.
When the assistant returned with information on Evelyn, Lena was fixated on Henry. His suit, shoes, all bespoke and unique, not to mention his tie. Just one pair of his cufflinks could match her entire paycheck from a TV series. And his restrained yet captivating appearance drew her. Such a man was truly top-tier.
With full confidence, Lena believed that only she was worthy of standing beside such a man. How could that woman possibly compare?
Glancing at Evelyn’s profile, Lena grew even more confident, “Just a director of a small company, nothing special.”
After flipping through a few pages, Lena asked impatiently, “Where’s the man’s information? Why isn’t it here?”
“Boss, I couldn’t find any information on the man at all.” The assistant wore a troubled expression. Despite searching through every social media platform and database, he couldn’t find a single detail about the man, not even his name after spending so much time.
Lena was not angry but rather pleased. The more mysterious he was, the more noble his identity seemed.
She whispered something to the assistant’s ear.
Though reluctant, the assistant complied to grab a drink and heading towards Evelyn’s direction.
Three steps away from her, the assistant stumbled, falling to the ground, the drink splashing onto Evelyn. Henry instinctively shielded her, but some of the liquid still landed on Evelyn.
Although the dress was black, the white star pattern were instantly dyed a burgundy color by the spilled wine. The assistant, full of guilt, stood up, apologizing and offering to help Evelyn wipe it off.
Evelyn, wary, instinctively moved back, “No need.”
Then, she exchanged a glance with Henry and headed to the restroom.
Lena followed closely behind. Upon seeing Evelyn enter a stall, Lena poured a glass of red wine on her over the stall door.
“Fuck!” Evelyn shouted angrily, trying to open the door, only to find it locked from the outside. With a dark expression, she peered through the crack, seeing a pair of silver high heels slowly moving away.
Damn it! Encountering enemies even at a simple gathering like this.
Watching the image Henry had painstakingly cultivated for her being ruined. Huh! It seemed like tonight had gained another incident. She called Jonathan and was quickly picked up.
Meanwhile, Lena, having succeeded, felt instantly refreshed. She maintained a distance from Henry for a while, disappointed when he didn’t notice her presence. Only then did she reluctantly approach and initiate conversation.
“Sir,” Lena adopted what she thought was a charming pose, “May I sit here?”
Henry glanced at her indifferently.
David was about to intervene, but Lena had already sat down. Seeing Evelyn approaching, David wanted to remind the Henry, but Evelyn had already quickly arrived in front of the two.
“I came back so early. Did I interrupt you two?” Her voice was calm and understanding.
Lena, hearing this, thought Evelyn was considerate and couldn’t help feeling superior.
David, on the other hand, shivered suddenly. This wasn’t understanding at all, it was the calm before the storm.
Henry shook his head, “Come back and sit.”
Evelyn’s gaze intentionally swept over Lena’s silver high heels…
“I would like to, but I’m afraid someone might not be willing, right?”
Henry stood up and pulled her back. “Stay here.”
She sat between the two, noticing Henry’s intention to deal with Lena and hurriedly intervened, “Darling, have a drink and enjoy the show.” Evelyn handed Henry a glass of wine, explaining, “This is personally selected by me, just for you.”
The voices of the two were very low, and Lena couldn’t hear them, but she inexplicably felt a sense of restlessness. Gripping the wine glass tightly, she reached out and pulled Evelyn.
“Using such methods to keep a man, don’t you feel ashamed?”
Evelyn: “…”
She had initially wanted to sit back and enjoy the show, but it seemed like some people weren’t willing to cooperate, which was truly distressing.
“The kind of woman he needs is someone like me who has seen the world. You’re still too inexperienced. You might as well learn more.”
“Learn what?” Evelyn’s expression suddenly turned cold, “Learn how to seduce married men, or learn your despicable skills?”
“Who are you saying is despicable?”
Staring at her widened eyes, Evelyn replied, “Is there anyone else here?”
“You…!” Lena’s gaze shifted past Evelyn toward Henry.
In the past, she could conquer a man in five seconds flat. She refused to believe that after all this time, this man wouldn’t be even slightly moved.
She put on a pitiful expression. However, Henry only whispered something in Evelyn’s ear without even looking at her.
Lena exploded with anger. Just as she was about to make another move, Evelyn suddenly stood up, smiling at her.
“My dear said I should ‘take good care’ of you.”
Upon hearing this, Lena immediately glanced at Henry, excited.
At this moment, many people were still watching them. Lena nodded and reached out, offering the wine glass to Evelyn with an expression of waiting to be served.
Evelyn took the wine glass, raised her hand, and poured the wine onto Lena’s body.
Lena screamed, standing up in despair, “What are you doing? You crazy woman!” she cried, seeking help from Henry with her eyes.
Henry seemed to sense it and suddenly grabbed Evelyn’s hand.
Confused, Evelyn turned around.
“The glass is empty.” He whispered, quickly grabbing a new glass and handing it to Evelyn.
Before she could react, he grabbed another glass and poured it into Evelyn’s glass, “That’s enough for now.”
Evelyn: “…” She was very satisfied with Henry’s attitude. Suddenly, she felt a strong urge to kiss him. What should she do?
Lena was dumbfounded, her hands trembling with anger. How could he allow that wretch Evelyn to pour wine on her?
“You… Ah!” Before she could start shouting, Evelyn acted first, pouring all the wine from Lena’s head.
Lena’s dress was made of real silk, and after being soaked in wine, it stuck to her body like it was glued on.
Seeing this, the assistant quickly took off her clothes to cover her.
“How does it feel? Being drenched in wine by someone else?” Evelyn asked softly, “This matter is far from over.”
Seeing Henry about to offer her wine again, Evelyn shook her head and looked in the direction of the corner.
“Wine is a good thing. How can these few small glasses satisfy her appetite?”
Suddenly, the service staff from the underground trading market appeared around the corner, pushing a huge wine glass the size of a basin, filled with red wine.
Everyone was stunned, unable to believe what they were seeing.
“I can’t believe it. Is this little beauty really planning to use this wine to splash Lena? Isn’t that a bit too much?”
“Too much? Didn’t you see Lena’s assistant deliberately splash wine on the little beauty just now?”
“Not only that, when the little beauty went to the restroom earlier, Lena actually followed her in with a glass of wine.”
Seeing Evelyn change into another dress, some people immediately guessed what had happened in the bathroom.
“She’s just extremely malicious. Let’s not waste any more time. Splash her.”
As soon as the words fell, there was a ‘whoosh,’ and Lena was soaked from head to toe, as if she had taken a bath in red wine, even her screams being washed away.
“You… Bitch… you’ll regret this, you will definitely regret it.”
Lena stood up abruptly, using the coat her assistant had just taken off to wipe herself, her eyes glaring coldly at Evelyn’s even more stunning dress.
“If I’m not mistaken, the outfit you’re wearing is tonight’s auction item ‘Magic Night,’ right? Without purchasing it and without the seller’s consent, you’ve privately worn a dress worth fifty million. Evelyn, are you trying to go to jail?”
As she spoke, she walked over to the other wealthy women nearby. Their purpose in coming tonight was to vie for ‘Magic Night.’ Now, their coveted dress was worn by an unknown woman. How could they be willing to accept it?
