Beatrice is busy arranging her things for Nate’s room as she has no choice but to stay with him in one room. She suddenly looks at the bed, where she knows she will share it with him later. She took a deep breath and was about to get her clothes from the luggage when she suddenly saw things in her mind.
“Hey, are you okay?” Nate asked her. She just looked at him, picked one pillow from the bed, and started walking towards the couch.
“Yes, I decided to sleep here,” she said as she put the pillow on the corner of the couch and lay down.
“Hey, you can sleep in my bed–”
“Goodnight, Nate.” she cut him off and closed her eyes. She used to sleep on the couch since she was living with Darwin. She never sleeps on Darwin’s bed because he doesn’t allow her to sleep there.
A memory from the past suddenly comes into her mind, so she turns to look at the bed again and swallows. “I slept here already?” Beatrice asked herself.
She heard a knock on the door, so she turned her gaze to the door and walked to open it. It was a man wearing a white polo, she was sure that this man was familiar with her, but she didn’t know who this man was.
“How may I help you?” Beatrice asked. The man smiles at her.
“Can we talk?” The man asked her, so she frowned but accepted his invitation. She exited Nate’s room and followed the man towards the garden. The man sits on one of the ceramic chairs in the park, so she also sits on the other one. She turned to look at the man and saw that he was looking at her, so she took a deep breath and crossed her arms.
“What are we going to talk about?” Beatrice asked and scratched her head. She felt awkward right now.
“I’ve heard what happened to you.” Beatrice smiles bitterly. She tried to remember who this man was, but her memory couldn’t.
“Sorry, may I know your name?” Beatrice ask. The man smiles at her.
“Rayver.” With that m, memories from the past come to her mind again, and her memory of this man comes, resulting in her confusion.
From how Beatrice meets Rayver to how Rayver gives her the divorce paper from Quiver.
“What is my… relationship with you?” Beatrice asked, so Rayver shook his head and leaned to his chair. Beatrice doesn’t know who he is, and Nate really needs his help as he also believes that he can help Nate from this.
“I’m Master Nate’s Beta, and I’m just a friend to you.” He said, so Beatrice stopped and smiled. She didn’t understand why this man was talking to her suddenly like this, but all she knew was that she’d already interacted with this person from the past.
“Oh, okay. So how may I help you?” Beatrice ask. Rayver smiles and looks in the other direction.
“Well, I just wanted to say goodbye to you as I already resigned from my position as Mr. Nate’s Beta,” Rayver said, so Beatrice stopped and looked at his expression; she got it now. This person wanted to say thank you or goodbye words to her before he left the mansion. She understands that this person is already part of her past, so she smiles at him; even though she doesn’t remember this person, she’s thankful as he becomes part of her past.
“Did Nate know about it?” Beatrice asks. Rayver nods in answer.
“I just came here to say goodbye to you and help Mr. Nate one last time,” Rayver said, so Beatrice listened to him as he started to tell some stories that included her in his past.
“I just wanted to say, please take care of Mr. Nate, as I can no longer watch him from a distance,” Rayver said, so Beatrice smiled bitterly.
“I don’t get why people around me want me to be with Nate.” She said and looked to Rayver. “I don’t understand why even my family is telling me that Nate is my lover because I already have a boyfriend, and he is Darwin,” Beatrice added. Rayver smiled at her and took a deep breath.
“Darwin is already dead,” Rayver said, so Beatrice suddenly stunned and stopped from her place. “You killed him as you learned that he is the killer of your twin sister, Margarette.” He added. So Beatrice looked down to process all the information she had heard from Rayver.
“Things all started when you learned that your sister, Margarett, died in a clan war. And all of them are pointing to Mr. Nate as the killer of your sister. So, to get an act of revenge for your sister, you agreed with Mr. Nate to marry each other to protect your clan and his clan, but then you learned to love him and learn that the real killer of your sister is your ex-boyfriend, which is Darwin.” Rayver said, so Beatrice swallows.
“After that, you and Mr. Nate were supposed to have a child, but you miscarriage your child because of Eille, and she’s also the reason why you have short-term amnesia now,” Rayver said. Beatrice fell silent after hearing his words. She didn’t know what to say or react as she couldn’t remember all that happened to her.
“I didn’t say all of that to confuse you. I tell him to help Mr. Nate before I leave this mansion and leave his place. He’s been a good Alpha to me. He treated me nicely since we were kids. Now, I want to give back all his kindness by telling you what happened in the past.” Rayver said. Beatrice’s tears form in her eyes.
“I’m doing this because I believe that after all the challenges that Mr. Nate faced from the past, all the broken heart and pain he encountered from the past, he deserves to be happy with you,” Rayver added. Beatrice’s tears fall. She couldn’t remember anything he said, but she felt the pain from his story.
“Did I… Did I hurt Nate in the past?” Beatrice asks, so Rayver smiles bitterly and gives him a white paper and a divorce paper, which Beatrice signs as she terminates her mateship with Nate. The white paper contains Quiver’s message to her before he dies.
“Who is Quiver?” Beatrice asks and looks to Rayver.
“Quiver is your second husband. You married him after your divorce from Nate.” Rayver said, so Beatrice read the message, and from that, she remembered how she left Nate without saying anything to him. She marries Quiver and has lived with him for years, but Quiver dies because of his illness.
“If that… then who really is my mate?” Beatrice asks and looks to Rayver.
