Rayver stands in front of a large mansion with a Danver engraved at the big gate of the estate. Axle turns to look at Rayver, whose aura is so cold. After Atom pointed this place to them yesterday, Rayver and Axle decided to go here and talk to Danver. With this, Rayver believes that talking to his twin will erase all his anger with him and solve the mission given by Nate to him.
“Are you ready to see him now?” Axle asks, so Rayver turns to look at him and nods his head.
“I’ve always prayed for this time,” Rayver said, looking back at the gate’s mansion.
Axle presses the doorbell beside the gate and waits for a minute before one of the maids from the house opens it.
“Who are you looking for?” The old woman asks. Rayver smiles at her, which causes her to be shocked.
“Sir, Danver, I thought you were in your garden today? What are you doing here outside?” The maid asks and opens the gate widely. The maid was confused by seeing him outside the gate.
“Nah, I’m looking for my twin, Danver. Is he here?” Rayver asked, so the maid frowned, examined him from head to toe, and nodded.
“I will just tell this to him. Please wait a minute.” The maid said and closed the gate again as she returned to call her boss.
Rayver turns to look at Axle, who’s looking at him.
“Did you really look like your town?” Axle asked. Rayver just smiled at him and nodded.
“Yeah, many people were confused whenever they saw us in different places,” Rayver said with a smile as he remembered that golden time when their neighbors were all confused.
They wait for a minute outside until the maid who talked to them earlier comes again and opens the gate widely.
“Sir. Danver asked you to enter.” The maid said and led them to where Danver was, as they had already gone inside the mansion.
As they walked closer to where Danver was, Rayver’s heart raced fast, and he couldn’t know what to do or what he would say to his twin once he saw him. After so many decades and hearing Atom’s story, he couldn’t know if he would be happy to see his twin again or what Rayver would do when he saw Danver today?
The maid stops in front of the door and looks at them. “Please enter this door, Sir. Danver is there and waiting for you. I will just prepare your food.” The maid said before leaving Axle and Rayver outside the big door. Axle turns to look at Rayver, and he knows that Rayver is feeling nervous right now. This is the very first time he sees the uncomfortable face of Rayver.
“You may enter the room first,” Axle said, so Rayver turned to look at him and nodded. Rayver starts to tilt the doorknob and push the door. Upon opening the door, a man wearing a white suit welcomes him with a smile while looking at him.
“Nice to see you again, Rayver,” The man said to Rayver with a different aura.
Back at Beatrice’s mansion, Nate and Beatrice are now done eating their breakfast. The two of them didn’t talk to each other after what Nate called her last night. Nate couldn’t stop worrying for her, so Nate took the opportunity to walk closer to her and grab her hands.
“Are you mad at me?” Nate asked Beatrice. In shock, Beatrice suddenly turned to look at him and shook her head.
“Of course not. Why would I be mad at you? Beatrice asked while looking at Nate. Nate took a deep breath and smiled bitterly.
“You’ve not been talking to me since yesterday,” Nate said, letting go of her hand. ‘I’m just worried that you’re mad at me because of what I called you last night.” Nate added, so Beatrice continued washing the plates and smiled.
“I’m not mad. Since you called me that name last night, I’m thinking of something.” Beatrice said, so Nate turned to look at her.
“Thinking of something? About what?” Nate asked, so Beatrice turned off the faucet and looked at him as she leaned on the wall.
“Nothing,” Beatrice said, so Nate looked at her eyes. He saw something that he couldn’t describe while looking into her eyes.
“Are you thinking of about our past?” Nate suddenly asked, so Beatrice looked in the other direction after she heard it.
“No.” She lied. The truth is that after hearing the word, Mrs. Vowell suddenly reminds her about their past, how she accepted the contract to marry Nate, the reason behind marrying him, and how she feels in love with Nate. All of that suddenly sinks into her, and then there comes the sad part of their love story where she also remembers how Eille starts to do something just to make her separate from Nate, how Quiver accepts her, and how she turns her back to Nate after knowing the truth behind Caliber that time.
All that sank into her mind last night, which caused her not to sleep as she was thinking about what-ifs. What if Eille hadn’t come to their lives? What if their child didn’t die? What if she didn’t file for divorce at that time? What if they’re still together this time.
Beatrice knows that after so many years, many things change, not only for her but also for Nate. She knows that Nate still loves her, but Beatrice has already put a wall to her heart to protect her from Nate. To protect her from pain again.
She put boundaries and limits for him, and now, all she thinks is to solve the problem and pass the thrown to Axel as the Alpha of their pack as she wanted to live happily and peacefully with a memory of Quiver with her.
“I just think of… passing my thrown to Axel,” Beatrice said, so Nate suddenly stopped and was disappointed by what he heard.
He’s expecting something to hear from Beatrice more…
