Nate left Quiver’s room with his occupied thoughts. It still did not sink in his mind why Quiver wanted him to be with Beatrice again once he left this world. He was shocked that Quiver’s last request to him was to be with Beatrice and not to leave her alone again.
He doesn’t know if he will be happy because of his request. Knowing the fact that Quiver won’t tell a lie, Nate chooses not to follow him as he has already decided to move on and forget Beatrice.
On the other hand, Quiver is watching Beatrice preparing his food. He couldn’t stop himself from getting emotional, knowing he would leave this place soon.
“I love you,” Quiver said, so Beatrice suddenly stopped what she was doing and looked at Quiver and smiled at him.
“I love you too,” Beatrice said and got his food. She sat beside his bed and looked at Quiver. “You need to eat your food and take your medicine so you can recover fast, okay?” Beatrice said, but Quiver didn’t say any words.
Beatrice starts to feed him, and the whole room becomes quiet.
“What did the doctor say to you earlier?” Beatrice asked as she remembered leaving Quiver earlier with his doctor to buy some food for him. Quiver suddenly remembers the doctor’s words to him and smiles at Beatrice.
“He said I can go out of this hospital tomorrow,” Quiver said, so Beatrice look him in the eye with her forehead frowned.
“What do you mean?” Beatrice asked.
“Well, he gave me some permission to go outside and stay at home while taking medication. I also requested that from him because I don’t want you to get tired of going down the floor to bring me some food.” Quiver said, so Beatrice laughed and fed him again.
“Of course, that is my responsibility as your wife,” Beatrice said and wiped Quiver’s lips using her fingers to remove some stains on his lips.
“I also wanted to go outside to watch the sunrise on the beach,” Quiver said, so Beatrice smiled and nodded.
“Okay, I will fix all your bills later, and I will call your beta to fetch us,” Beatrice said and gave Quiver his glass of water.
“Did the doctor mention anything about your illness?” Beatrice asked, so Quiver immediately shook his head.
“None.” He lied. The doctor said that he couldn’t go outside as he needed to stay in the hospital so they could monitor his situation. Still, Quiver asks the doctor a favor to let him go outside and let him rest in their house as Quiver knows that he will leave the world. The doctor at first doesn’t want to let him go, yet Quiver talked to him and tells him that he doesn’t want to die in a place like the hospital.
“I wanna die in our house with my wife sleeping, so I can’t see her crying for the last minute of my life,” Quiver said to his doctor. The doctor took a deep breath, knowing that no one could stop Quiver from his plan.
Around 4:30 in the morning, Beatrice and Quiver return to their rest house in Townsville, where their rest house is next to the ocean. Quiver told Beatrice he wanted to be here, so Beatrice granted his wish.
“Can you please get him to his room so he can rest?” Beatrice asked the caretaker, who immediately welcomed them as soon as they arrived. The caretaker nodded and pushed the wheelchair of Quiver.
The caretaker was about to bring Quiver to his room when Quiver patted the caretaker’s hand to make him stop.
“Can you take me to the seashore? I wanted to watch the sunrise.” Quiver said so the caretaker thought for a minute.
“But Madame Beatrice told me to bring you into your room, sir.”
“Don’t worry, she will not be mad at you.” Quiver said and smiled at the caretaker to assure him that Beatrice wouldn’t get mad.
After a few minutes of convincing the caretaker, he finally brings Quiver to the seashore. The sky was still dark at that time. The wind was cold, blowing in the air, and the waves and insects were the only things that could be heard in the seashore.
“Can you leave me here, alone?” Quiver asked the caretaker. The caretaker is hesitant to follow him, yet he doesn’t have any choice. The caretaker left him, and Quiver looked over the ocean, where he remembered so many things happened.
He remembers his life with Margarett. The wind blew again, and Quiver closed his eyes to feel the wind.
“Baby…” Quiver opened his eyes and was surprised to see Margarett smiling at him and standing before him.
“Margarett…” he whispered, and his tears started to form in his eyes. He didn’t know what kind of feeling he was up to now. Seeing Margarett again is one of his dreams. Yet because of Beatrice, who was her twin sister, Quiver felt that Margarett was still with him because of Beatrice.
“Are you coming?” Margarett asked. Quiver looked at her for a while and remembered something from the past.
Margarett laughed when she told everything about her twin sister to Quiver, who was listening to her entire ears. Her laugh suddenly faded as she looked at the sea. Quiver noticed that, so he held her hands, and Margarett looked at him.
“What’s with the sudden change of mood?” Quiver asked. Margarett smiled at him a little.
“I’m just wondering if Beatrice was fine.” She said, so Quiver looked her in the eye.
“Though I know she will say yes if I ask her if she’s fine. But I sometimes don’t believe in her words because I know she’s not fine, yet she said yes.” Margarett said, so Quiver smile at her and hugged her.
“Maybe you guys need to have a bond sometimes?” He said. “That’s what siblings do, right?” He added, so Margarett smiles.
“Yes. But Beatrice didn’t like to be with me.” Margarett said, so Quiver frowned.
“Why did you say so?” He asked. Margarett took a deep breath.
“Because she wanted to be alone, or sometimes she wanted to be with Darwin.” She answered, so Quiver fell silent after hearing her words.
“I’m so worried for her because she kept choosing to be alone rather than with me or our family,” Margarett said and looked at Quiver.
“She raised herself in the dark alone.” She added.
Quiver smiled and shook his head. “I see things again.” He said to himself and took a deep breath.
“I can’t leave her alone.” He added and looked at the sea. “I can’t leave her without anyone on her side.”
