Beatrice went back to Quiver’s room. Her eyes are swollen from crying, and she is thankful that Quiver is sleeping right now. She doesn’t want him to see her eyes. Beatrice walks towards the chair beside Quiver’s bed and watches Quiver sleep.
Beatrice took a deep breath, wiped her face, and then looked at the ceiling before she started to think. Eventually, she couldn’t think straight at this moment. Her mind was occupied because of Quiver’s condition and what happened earlier. Her heart is so broken at this moment.
“Beatrice…” She looked at Quiver, who was now conscious, she stood up and held Quiver’s hand.
“Quiver, baby, how you feeling?” She asked and wiped Quiver’s forehead. “I’m so worried about you. Do you need something?” Beatrice asked, but Quiver slowly shook his head and held Beatrice’s hand.
“I only need you now,” Quiver said, slowly smiling at Beatrice. She swallowed, and her tears gradually formed in her eyes.
“Why did you hide this to me, Quiver?” Beatrice asked, and she slowly sat on the chair beside Quiver’s bed without breaking their holding hands.
Beatrice’s tears fell as she saw how Quiver forced his smile to ensure he was all right.
“I’m sorry,” Quiver said, closing his eyes in pain. “I’m sorry for hiding this from you.” He added and took a deep breath.
“I really wanted to tell you this, but I couldn’t because I didn’t want to ruin your smile. I don’t want to make you worry about me, and I don’t want to see you cry again.” Quiver said as he remembered those days when Beatrice’s smiles slowly returned to her lips after the tragic death of her unborn child.
He promised himself that day that he would never make anything that could fade. Beatrice smiled again, which is what he did; he didn’t tell Beatrice about his condition.
“But I am your wife, Quiver. You should have told me before because you knew that this would happen. You can’t hide anything from me.” Beatrice said so. Quiver just smiled as he remembered how he tried to convince his doctor to do anything just to get rid of his illness.
“I’m sorry.” That is the only word he said before his tears fell in his eyes, and Beatrice saw that. She stood up once again and hugged Quiver.
“Now, what we going to do is to get rid of that illness of yours together, okay?” Beatrice asked while hugging Quiver. “Just promise me that you will never leave me and stay with me until our hair turns white,” Beatrice added and closed her eyes, knowing Quiver couldn’t do that anymore.
“I’m sorry,” Quiver whispered again, so Beatrice shook her head and looked at Quiver.
“It’s okay now, Quiver, just relax, baby, okay? I will be with you until the end.” Beatrice said and whipped Quiver’s tears.
“I don’t wanna die,” Quiver said somberly, making Beatrice cry even more as she knew that Quiver didn’t want this situation.
“I also didn’t want to make you cry, I just wanted to see you smile and be with you for the rest of my life.” He added and held Beatrice’s hand as he felt sudden lung pain.
“But I couldn’t be with you for too long because I’ve done enough here.” He added and slowly kissed Beatrice’s hand.
“Quiver, listen to me. Okay?” She said and wiped Quiver’s tears again.
“You will be with me for the rest of your life. we need to get rid of your illness, love, and the doctor will surely have any medications for that.” Beatrice said as she couldn’t think straight at this moment anymore.
“Okay?” Beatrice asked, and Quiver just nodded to her even though he knew that no medication could save his life from this situation.
“Good, now relax, baby; I will just call your doctor to check you up, and then we will eat together here, okay?” Beatrice asked, and Quiver nodded in pain. Beatrice walked away to call his doctor while Quiver was alone in the room, still crying and thinking about the future where he was no longer with her. This is so very heartbreaking for both of them. Quiver knows that Beatrice has already learned how to love him, yet destiny is doing the most painful part of their relationship. “I don’t wanna die…” He said in his mind. In the past month, he already accepted in his mind that he will need to leave Beatrice one day, yet as that day is coming through, his decision is changing from ‘I am ready’ to ‘I am not ready.’
The door of his room opened, and Quiver saw Rayver enter the door. Quiver laughed as he saw Rayver enter the door and who was now looking at him.
“What’s up,” Quiver said and wiped his tears. Rayver knows that Quiver is in a challenging situation right now.
“Are you here to laugh at my situation?” Quiver asked as he remembered what Rayver had told him the last time they talked.
“I’m gonna laugh when I see you doing,” Rayver said, so Quiver smiled.
“So stay strong and keep fighting. You don’t want to feel how the beta laughs at an Alpha, right?” Rayver asked before he patted Quiver’s shoulder.
“No,” Rayver said seriously and took a deep breath.
“I am here to fulfill your wishes,” Rayver added, so Quver stared at him momentarily.
“I am here with my alpha, and Beatrice saw him already, and they already talked.” He said so, and Quiver looked in another direction because deep inside of him was hurting for what he heard, yet that was his wish, and he knew that Rayver was only doing this because of his desire.
“What happened?” Quiver asked without looking at Rayver.
Rayver watched his expression first before speaking again.
“Nate, let her go; he is outside your room. He wanted to talk to you if you don’t mind.” Rayver said, so Quiver turned to look at Rayver because of his words.
He thought of something briefly before he nodded and smiled at Rayver.
“I wanted to talk to him.” He said so. Rayver nodded, walked towards the door to open it, and called Nate from the outside.
A minute later, Nate entered the room. And after a very long time of not seeing him, Quiver didn’t initially recognize Nate.
“Long time no see, Nate.” He said and smiled at Nate, who had a severe aura at that moment.
