Beatrice watched Celestine drink her tea while keeping herself cool, knowing that Celestine was here in front of her. It is very unexpected for Beatrice, knowing that Celestine doesn’t like her for Nate, and now she’s here visiting her.
Beatrice suddenly thinks if she had done something again that made Celestine visit her. The last time she saw Celestine was in court, and Beatrice remembered her words during that day.
“I will surely come to kill you one day.” Those words are already marked on her mind, and at this moment, Beatrice is thinking if Celestine visits her to make her words happen.
She’s scared right now, knowing that she’s only left alone here with the maids, and if Celestine does something to her, no one could save her and her baby.
“Are you here to make your words from the court happen?” Beatrice suddenly asked, making Celestine stop drinking her tea and laugh as if she heard a joke.
“Of course not,” Celestine said, calming Beatrice.
“I’m not here to hurt or do something bad against you,” Celestine said.
“Is she here because she wants to talk about Nate? Well, I already drove him away from me and hid the truth from Nate about our child.” Beatrice said in her mind while watching Celestine’s movements.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Celestine asked as she saw how Beatrice looked at her. She suddenly laughed and shook her head.
“Please don’t look at me like that, and it looks like you’re watching my movements if I do something bad to you,” Celestine added, putting the teacup on the mini table.
“I just came here to have a little conversation with you.” She said so. Beatrice was stunned, as if she heard something from heaven.
“Is it real? Or maybe she’s just telling this so I will calm myself down before she kills me.” Beatrice said in her mind and swallowed as she saw Celestine look at her.
“Please don’t do something bad to me, and I don’t want my baby hurt,” Beatrice said, so Celestine’s forehead frowned and laughed again.
“Are you that traumatic to me?” Celestine said and took a deep breath.
“I’m here to tell you we already know everything behind my husband’s death,” Celestine said. Beatrice became severe as she remembered how they blamed her when they saw her in the room with Gastov’s body.
They even submitted a warrant case from the court just to put her in jail.
“I told you, I am not the killer. I just saw Papa’s body in that room, and Clerophine entered the room and saw me with his body and-”
“I know.” Celestine cut her off, so Beatrice looked at Celestine after she cut her. Beatrice’s forehead frowned.
“You know?” Beatrice asked.
“Yes. And thanks to Rayver for telling us the truth.” Celestine said in her serious tone. “What do you mean?” Beatrice asked so Celestine smiled sadly as she remembered how Clerophibe confessed to them before she took her own life.
“Rayver investigated the case on his own and told us everything from the very first start till you saw my husband’s body,” Celestine said, so Beatrice fell silent as she heard it.
“Does it mean Rayver never leaves the case as he believes me,” Beatrice said in her mind as she was touched by how Rayver found the truth behind Gastov’s death.
“Rayver presented us a picture from the hidden camera in Gastov’s room that day, and in that picture, Clerophine saw how she killed my husband before you entered the room,” Celestine said and told the whole story to Beatrice.
Beatrice was shocked, knowing that Clerophine was the natural killer and Clerophibe framed her that day. She’s mad at her, but as Celestine said, Clerophine took her own life, which made Beatrice pity her.
“I also came here to say sorry about what I did,” Celestine said, so Beatrice looked at her in shock, knowing that Celestine would never say sorry to anyone because that’s what Nate said to her last time, that his mother never said sorry to anyone.
“I know that I did something bad to you and I interfered with your relationship with my son, but I just want to let you know that I only did that thing because I love my son, and for me, I can’t
accept it that Nate is truly a grown-up man now,” Celestine said in her heartfelt voice.
“My husband was right that Nate is already a grown-up man, and Nate has the right to control his life and to choose whoever he wants to be with,” Celestine added and smiled at Beatrice.
“So I came here to say sorry because I know I did something bad to you,” Celestine said. Beatrice smiled at her and held her hands.
She is so happy to hear this from Celestine. She can sleep now without thinking about how to deal with those who hate her.
“Past is past, Mr. Vowell. And I understand that you only do that to protect your son.” Beatrice said and smiled at Celestine.
Celestine holds Beatrice’s hands, giving Beatrice a shocked moment as this is the first time Celestine has had her hand.
“Can I request something from you, Beatrice? I know I’ve mistreated you, but can you do me a favor?” Celestine said, which Beatrice immediately approved.
“Of course, ma’am. what should I do?” Beatrice suddenly asked.
“Can you go back to Nate and start again?” Celestine asked, which made Beatrice stunned for a second.
She can’t believe that she’s hearing these words from Celestine. Everything happened so fast now, and she can’t keep to it.
Beatrice just looked at Celestine for a moment and slowly took her hands from Celestine. A little smile formed on Beatrice’s lips, and she took a deep breath.
“You know, Ma’am, I am happy now knowing that you accept me for Nate and are willing to start a new life with your son,” Beatrice said, smiling at Celestine bitterly.
“But… I can’t accept it, Ma’am, as I am happy with Quiver already.” Beatrice added, so Celestine smiled bitterly.
“You’re lying,” Celestine said, which stunned Beatrice for a second.
“I can read your feelings that your love for my son never fades,” Celestine added, so Beatrice looked away and laughed.
“I…I don’t know what you are talking about, and I love Quiver.” Beatrice said, but Celestine just smiled at her.
“Like how?” Celestine asked, so Beatrice stopped for a minute, thinking about the meaning of her question.
“What, how?” Beatrice asked and laughed.
“I don’t know what you are talking about, Mrs. Vowell… I love Quiver.” Beatrice said again. Celestine laughed a little and stood up from her seat.
“I see…” Celestine said and smiled at Beatrice.
“I hope you’re not fooling yourself. Ultimately, it’s you against yourself if you fool yourself.” Celestine said before she said goodbye to Beatrice.
