Lucas was drunk the night he divorced Olivia and Isabella crawled onto his bed.
He didn’t like what happened and blamed it all on Olivia. Without reasons, he started to reject receiving news about Olivia.
Doctor Turner had finally managed to get to Lucas, he was still working at the office, there were a few executives in his office, and hence, he was annoyed when Doctor Turner mentioned Olivia. “That’s enough, we are divorced, and I don’t want to know about her, if it’s about her sickness, you can contact her family.”
And… He hung up.
He didn’t even know that Olivia had left the city, left the country.
Olivia’s departure had not affected Lucas life.
Yet… Everything seemed different.
He concentrated at work and rarely went home, he thought this was good, freedom felt good. But he felt extremely lonely at night sometimes.
There was no one lighting up a lamp for him at the midnight, no one would prepare him hangover medicine, no one would advise him not to over drink…
“Mr Foster, we’ve seen this proposal from Lance Foster… We were expecting a better and more creative idea from you, so we have decided to…”
Lucas was stunned, this was a new proposal prepared for the collaboration with Nelson Corp. He had been working on this for over a month… There was no way that Lance Foster would know and contacted Nelson Corp. beforehand.
The representative from Nelson Corp. looked around and signalled others to leave. He had collaborated numerous times with Lucas, so they were sort of friends. “Lucas, you have really divorced Olivia?”
Lucas’s face stiffened and nodded. “Yes.”
“Sigh, are you insane? Olivia is Jacob’s daughter, and you divorced her…”
“Keith Nelson, we are discussing about our collaboration.” Lucas interrupted. His divorce with Olivia was the only topic he hated recently.
Not only Keith was his business partner, but they were also best friends, so he was not frightened by Lucas’s temperament, instead, he said helplessly, “Have you heard the rumours about you lately?”
“What?” He asked recklessly.
Keith mocked, “They said you are insane for leaving Ms Cooper. There have been internal changes in Foster Group, hasn’t it? Had I not be your friend, Lance Foster would have taken this project.”
“Would you like to see him benefited from your idea and defeated you with it?”
Lucas remained calm on the outside but was furious on the inside. He had prepared to face the troubles of divorcing Olivia but never expected it to be this soon. So, in their eyes, he was nothing without a woman?
He threw the documents into the trash and mocked, “It’s a declaration of war then. They better be prepared for what’s coming for them, the Foster Group needs some clean-ups too!”
Keith was relieved, “This is the Lucas I know. I will be waiting for your good news.”
Lucas collaborated with Nelson Corp. and dug up all the spies Lance planted beside him. A particular name shocked him.
