Olivia’s treatment was not positive, furthermore, she was found pregnant during one of her checks.
“It’s been over a month, we can’t determine the fetal age yet. Ms Cooper, you need to decide the soonest possible, this child has a great effect on the treatment.”
Doctor Blake said seriously.
Doctor Blake happened to be a doctor recommended by Doctor Turner to Lucas before.
Yes, the world was small with a few experts in it, especially doctors that excel in lymphoma treatment. Jacob visited almost all the experts for his daughter.
Olivia’s who dressed in blue patient clothes looked white.
This news took her by surprise.
She was pregnant?
Olivia always visualises herself pregnant, a child that looked like Lucas, a produce of both of them…
She had been dreaming of it for so long, and when she had finally given up, the child arrived.
But it was too late. They were divorced.
She rubbed her belly with a mixture of sorrow and joy. Doctor Blake was used to what he saw, but he had to be clear, “Ms Cooper, you need to undergo chemotherapy every day, you can’t have this child, it won’t survive”
Olivia’s body couldn’t afford to carry this child; it couldn’t even guarantee her own life, not to mention bringing a new one to this world.
Olivia felt her heart stopped beating.
She couldn’t have this child.
But, this was a child of Lucas and hers.
She looked at Doctor Blake with hope, “Can I keep this child if I give up treatment?”
Doctor Blake shook his head in anger, “Your body can’t make it!”
“Ms Cooper, please be rational! I will discuss this with your family!”
Olivia was determined, there was no room for discussion, and she won’t give up on her child with Lucas!
Jacob stayed in China, he left Owen in charge of Olivia.
Owen loved his sister as much as his father, he wanted Olivia to give up on the child.
And he wanted so much to fly back and teach Lucas a lesson!
Leaving his pregnant sister to fight cancer alone, how dare he!
Olivia held onto her brother’s arm and begged, “Please, I want to keep the baby!”
She had lost a tremendous amount of weight due to being sick, even her cheekbones were obvious, Owen sat her down on the sofa and explain sadly, “Olivia, you can be pregnant anytime you want after you’ve recovered, but if you are gone, there will be nothing left.”
In the comparison of his little sister and an unborn child, Owen chose the former.
But Olivia was stubborn, as stubborn as when she wanted to marry Lucas.
“Owen, the cancer will possibly take my life, so let me have the child, as a continuation of my life, a companion to Daddy in the future…”
Olivia’s said with a tone filled with sorrow.
She was truthful; she wanted someone to be there with them after she was gone.
Tears gushed down her cheeks but she smiled, “Please let me have this child, I might die but the child has the right to live.”
Owen failed to persuade her, but it did not mean he agreed. He called his father and his father arrived the next day.
“Olivia Cooper, how could you do this to me after all that I’ve done for you? You suicide, you are giving up your families for Lucas?”
Jacob was angry. He was angry that his precious daughter was giving up her life for others!
Olivia knew that her family would object, but she insisted. “I might die soon, but not this child, the child should live…”
She kept repeating the sentence.
Jacob had no other choice, he saw the sparks in her eyes and couldn’t say no.
The entire medical team along with Jacob and Owen were trying to figure out the best solution but to no avail. At this moment, Doctor Blake recalled that Olivia was Lucas’s ex-wife.
If Olivia wanted to keep this child with her life, didn’t Lucas, as the father should get involved?
He contacted Doctor Turner discreetly and told him about Olivia’s condition. He left the rest for Doctor Turner.
