Keith and Lucas were the best buddies, he was the one he called the night he divorced, so during the power transition within Foster Group, he stood by his side helping him dug out all the spies.
“You are such a failure, Isabella has been with you for over ten years but she went for Lance without you noticed.”
Keith shook his head in despise.
Lucas was infuriated.
He knew Isabella was not loyal to her but he never would have thought that she was a spy for Lance! A double spy!
Keith laughed at him in his face, “You are too confident, Isabella is a veteran in the entertainment world, and how could you believe her? She must be the one responsible for your leaked proposal!”
Lucas had never trusted anyone apart from himself.
But it was useless to say anything now, the main focus was to get back what was lost.
He was too occupied to think of Olivia, whenever he thought of her, he chose to ignore.
Until one night, he was drunk and drove back home unconsciously.
It was the home that belonged to Olivia and him.
He took a nap in the car and woke up with an extreme headache. He was stunned when he realised where he was. He never thought that he would ever come back.
He hesitated but still pushed open the door.
Everything was the same as while Olivia was here, except that the house was dusty.
It was dead silent, the atmosphere was dull and not alive.
There was a vase with lilies on the desk left by Olivia, the flowers were withered.
Lucas looked at the house and something flashed across his mind that drove him straight to the second floor.
He walked towards the desk and stared at the drawer.
Olivia’s voice was heard.
“Don’t forget to drink the medicine if you need to drink alcohol, if not your head will kill you. I’ve put some in the drawer, it’s to protect your liver, remember to take it…”
He held his breath and opened the drawer, there were hangover and liver protection medicine.
He couldn’t differentiate whether it was a headache from the alcohol or other reason, he couldn’t think. He held the box in his trembling hands.
She prepared him a considerable amount of medicine even before she left.
He had a sudden urge to go look for her.
He brought the box of medicine with him and walked out, but stopped at the door.
They were divorced. He had no reason to go for her. He was the one that signed the paper without hesitation, he was the one… that left her despite knowing she was sick. His energy was depleted at once.
He tried hard to wipe off Olivia’s face in his mind, but she always came back.
And it became more frequent.
“Lucas, you asked for this! You ignored her when she was here but regretted now?”
Keith was angry seeing Lucas thinking about something else at this critical moment of internal clean-ups.
But…
Looking at his sorrowful face and tremendous weight loss, he said, “Go for her! It’s no big deal!”
Lucas closed the documents in front of him and said coldly, “I am not thinking about her.”
Keith stunned. He opened the document file and asked, “What were you thinking then? Writing this name?”
It was a blank paper with Olivia’s name written all over.
“Don’t lie to yourself, Lucas, you’ve fallen in love with her!”
