Jacob contacted all the finest doctors domestically, their pieces of advice were unified, receive proper treatment but the success rate was low.
One of the doctors suggested sending Olivia overseas to receive treatments with better facilities.
After some thorough consideration, Jacob thought it was a good idea for her to go to a new place for a fresh start; it would benefit her both mentally and physically.
But there were lots of things that needed to be taken care of before Olivia took off, one, in particular, was important.
“You sure you want to divorce Lucas?”
Jacob looked at her daughter and asked again. He knew how deep her love for Lucas was, she had sacrificed a lot for him and it must be devastated for her to give up now.
Olivia nodded, “Yes, I’m sure.”
Jacob felt heartache and sighed, “Alright then, I will discuss with Lucas’s father today. Once he signed the paper, you will fly overseas and get treated.”
“Dad, I… don’t waste too much energy on me.” She looked at her father, pale but firmed, “It can’t be treated.”
The advanced stage of cancer was not easily treated.
Jacob’s hands were trembling, “Cut the crap and take good care of yourself!”
Jacob went to the Foster’s, she wanted to go too, to see Lucas one last time.
But she was objected by everyone.
Ever since everyone in the Cooper family learnt about her sickness, they were treating her like a precious fragile treasure, forbidding her to go out.
Olivia understood it was their way of care, she even realised better now how insignificant she was to Lucas.
He had never called ever since she left their home.
Perhaps he still wasn’t aware of her disappearance.
…
Manfred was startled by Jacob’s sudden visit.
“Why did you come to visit unannounced?”
He was sitting at his office along with a sexy secretary with revealing clothes, they were startled by Jacob.
Jacob pretended nothing happened.
Manfred was a well-known womaniser; he played even more after his wife died. He thought it was fine but not now, he felt repugnant towards him when he thought of Lucas.
Like father like son, no difference.
“Manfred, there is something I need to tell you.”
The secretary glanced at Manfred, walked away and closed the door behind her.
Manfred pointed at the chair for him to sit, “Why? Lucas and Olivia fight again?”
Olivia and Lucas fought all the time, both parents were used to it. But this time, Jacob hand the divorce paper with Olivia’s signature over to Manfred tiredly. “Lucas is having an affair and Olivia wants a divorce.”
“Divorce? Is that possible? Olivia love Lucas so much! There must be a misunderstanding!”
Manfred asked in astonishment. His reaction was understandable, Olivia was the one who had been giving and tolerating the most in this marriage, she forced herself to live a low and undignified life. Manfred was used to Olivia’s never-ending patience towards Lucas.
“Jacob, is there a misunderstanding? Lucas is young and ignorant, I will talk to him.”
The Cooper is powerful in this city, Old Master Foster put Lucas in charge of the family business because his wife was Olivia Cooper. What will happen to Lucas if Olivia divorced him?
Jacob knew his intention, he suppressed his anger when he thought of Olivia’s request, “Olivia gave up this time, tell Lucas to sign the paper and do as he pleased in the future! It has nothing to do with the Cooper anymore!
Manfred stared at Olivia’s name on the paper and sighed, “There is really no turning back?”
