Book:Tell me you love me Published:2024-5-28

Olivia went back to the Foster’s and packed up her stuff. With the servants murmuring at the back, she walked out of the house she once thought would be a forever home for Lucas and her.
It was already dusk when she arrived home. Jacob was getting ready to attend the party organised by the in-laws, he was bewildered when he saw her.
Olivia looked pale with luggage in her hands. Her eyes were blank, she stared at the house but not stepping forward.
Jacob rushed towards to grab her, “Why? What happened?”
Was it Lucas? Did he mistreat her?
Anger filled Jacob’s heart, he never agreed on the marriage between Olivia and Lucas, but Olivia insisted to marry him. Manfred on the other hand promised to take her in as his own and guaranteed that Lucas will treat her well.
But after all these years, Lucas loathed Olivia, while Olivia endured all the grievances, she had not once complained to anyone. However, as a father, he couldn’t watch his daughter in pain, hence, he agreed to all the unreasonable demands from Manfred Foster, all he ever wanted was for Olivia to live well in the Foster family.
But now, Olivia stood right in front of him looking exhausted.
Jacob felt like his heart was hit hard by a hammer.
“Lucas mistreated you, did he?”
Jacob clenched his teeth, one word, one word from her and he would rush over to the Foster’s for justice!
Olivia remained silent; she could not hold it any longer. Her strengths diminished the moment she saw her father.
“I have lymphoma; I only have one more year to live.”
Jacob’s felt his legs weakened, he froze for a while and stared at his daughter. “Olivia, are you lying to me?”
Olivia stared at her father with silver hair on both sides, she felt guilty as the only man he could think of was that man when she knew she was dying.
Tears rolled down her cheeks, she couldn’t utter a word in front of her loving father.
Jacob stayed frozen on the same spot for a while, as if like he had aged a few years, his back was bent over.
“Let’s go home, go home and we will figure it out. We will treat you with the finest doctor in the world!”
Olivia’s mom died long ago, her elder brother worked overseas. Her father remained single out of fear that a stepmother might mistreat them. Hence, he cared so much about Olivia.
Olivia lied on the bed before she got married, her mind was empty, and she was exhausted. She walked out of the Foster’s with her last courage, but she did not feel good.
Her heart was heavy; she knew she and Lucas would be forever separated from now on.
She had to leave the man that she had been in love with for ages.
It made her lost the meaning of her life.
Jacob brought in a cup of warm milk, “Have a good rest, we will go to the doctor tomorrow. We’ll cross cities and countries to seek the best treatment, you will be well.”
His beloved daughter was dying.
He touched her cheek softly and looked at her in determination, “I will have you treated no matter what.”
Olivia had completely collapsed at this moment.
She wrapped her arms around her father’s waist and cried out loud.
“Daddy, I’m afraid, I don’t want to die.”
“There are so many things I haven’t done, I haven’t give Lucas a child.”
“Dad, I don’t want to leave you just yet…”
Each word was like a sharp knife stabbing in his heart.
Olivia kept crying until she almost lost her voice.
She pulled herself back together and said, “Dad, I want to divorce Lucas.”
She wanted a divorce at a time like this, all Jacob could think of was Lucas must have mistreated her.
Olivia lowered her eyes, she never thought she would ever mention divorce, but it wasn’t that hard to say after all.
Jacob stunned and looked at her in puzzle, “Didn’t you like Lucas? You want to give him a child, why divorce? He mistreated you didn’t he?
Each question was hard for her to answer.
Right, why divorce?
She had only one more year to live, she could live until then, it would not harm both Lucas and her.
But Olivia refused to do so. She wanted to do something for Lucas before she died, like returning him his freedom or give him a child.
