Chapter 19: Goodbye, Lucas Foster

Book:Tell me you love me Published:2024-5-28

Olivia felt that she was an exact joke. She wasted so much energy to make him lunch, yet he was flirting with other woman…She could pretend ignorant for the first time, but she could not tolerate and let it be no matter how this time.
She kept on imagining how Lucas looked like when he was on the bed with that woman. They could be on the office couch, or desk, and he was treating that woman the way he used to treat her…Olivia bit her lower lip hard, the taste of blood spread in her mouth but she did not stop biting. Only that kind of pain could let her temporarily forget the pain she felt in her heart.
She did not go home but was standing outside Lucas’s office instead. The employees who passed by all secretly examined her. Those sympathetic look and whispers all drove Olivia to the edge of a mental breakdown.
Why should she abase and torture herself like that? She should have left, far, far away, but she could not move her legs. She was a living human being. She had emotions and could sense pain, she could not take it anymore! Her face was pale but her eyes were instantly burning.
She could not sit there and wait. She should go in and ask that woman to get lost! She was Lucas Foster’s legitimate wife, and the one standing by his side should be her! The one who should leave should be that woman! Olivia was immediately filled with courage. She took a deep breath and pushed the office door open.
Both Lucas and Isabella did not expect her to return, and they were not doing the things she had imagined. Both of them were looking down on something on the desk. Seeing Olivia entered, Lucas instinctively kept the thing behind him in the drawer. Olivia slightly hesitated at the entrance.
“What else do you want?” Lucas frowned and asked rudely. Olivia bit the bullet and said, “I’m your wife, and the one who should leave shouldn’t be me, but her!” After saying that, her heart raced. How would Lucas treat her? What was his attitude towards that woman? Did he love her more than her? Those questions kept on showing up in her mind, yet without having gotten an answer first, Isabella spoke.
“Miss Cooper, I know you don’t like me, but…I really do love Lucas!” She stared at her stubbornly with red-rimmed eyes, “I’ve known Lucas for a long time, and both of you still haven’t gotten married when we’re together. Your family forced him to marry you, and I could only stay by his side in this way. And now you refuse to offer me this chance too?”
Olivia widened her eyes with mouth agape, but one thing she said caught her attention, “You said before I married Lucas, you’ve already been together?” Isabella glimpsed at Lucas and seeing him did not show any disapproval, she nodded straight away and admitted, “Yes! If it’s not because of you, I might still be together with Lucas now!”
Olivia could not help but take two steps backward. So she was the other woman? She looked at Lucas in disbelief, yet there was no expression on Lucas’s face, as if the two women before him were not arguing for him. Olivia asked with her voice trembled, “Lucas, is it true, of what she said?”
Women had an inexplicable stubbornness towards certain things. Olivia could tolerate Lucas hurting her over and over again, but she could not tolerate herself being the other woman. Lucas looked up indifferently, “Yes, I did know her before knowing you.”
What else could she say? Olivia was flooded with disappointment. The corner of her mouth twitched and she immediately turned around with a dreadful look, “Goodbye, Lucas Foster!”
