Lance stood before the gigantic French window. He could see Olivia walking into the tower from there and his eyes gleamed. He let out a wicked smile, “Didn’t Manfred plan to take that project down by relying on the Cooper’s reputation?” He turned around and looked at the woman on the couch.
Isabella Hughes adjusted her clothes with misty eyes and said flirtatiously, “Lucas refused, that’s his thought.” Lance rubbed his fingers, “Since my cousin is unwilling to do that, I have to help him.”
“What bad ideas do you have this time?” Isabella frowned, “Lucas is not any fool, he’s starting to become suspicious of me.” Lance walked towards her and lifted her chin, “Are you scared?” Isabella waved his hand away and said, “Of course, being a double spy between both of you, I wonder when would I lose my life. How could I not be scared?”
Lance smiled complacently, “Lucas is an extremely arrogant person, he would have never thought you’ve already betrayed him. As long as you work nicely for me, I’ll not mistreat you.” He looked at his watch and said, “Olivia’s come, and I suppose she’s looking for Lucas. Go to his office now, and it’ll be better if anything happens.”
Isabella was startled, “You want to cast a dissension between them?” She said with doubt, “Is it necessary though? Lucas did not like Olivia in the first place.”
“I don’t care whether he likes her or not, I can’t give them any chance to recover no matter how. If I can’t use the Cooper family, I can’t use anybody!” A cruel look flashed across Lance’s eyes. Isabella was taken aback; she did not expect he was that crazy that he even dismissed the Cooper family! Yet she was already halfway there, and she could only finish the rest of the path!
…
Olivia stood outside of Lucas’s office. She only knocked the door after hesitating for a while. Lucas already knew her arrival. He frowned and opened the door, “What are you doing here?” Olivia looked around his office. Having not found the appearance of any woman, she heaved a sigh of relief and subconsciously wore a smile.
Her little actions did not escape Lucas’s eyes. His eyes moved and he did not utter a word, allowing Olivia to enter. Olivia put the lunchbox down and said, “I’ve made lunch for you, there’s your favorite braised pork chops, do have a taste when it’s still hot.” She opened the lunchbox yet she realized Lucas was staring at her back while frowning. A bad feeling rose inside her and she instantly turned back.
The woman who showed up last time was smiling at her at the entrance while crossing her arms before her chest. She was wearing a bright red dress and thick makeup. She was seductive and attractive. Her dress was low-cut and there were bruises on her chest.
Olivia was not an ignorant fool and she certainly knew what that meant. She turned around and stared at Lucas in disbelief. Lucas ignored her and his eyes fell onto Isabella, “Why do you come here at this time?” Isabella snorted. She glimpsed at Olivia, walked towards Lucas and whispered at his ear.
Lucas’s expression changed and he said, “Leave here first.” He was saying that to Olivia. Olivia’s hand shuddered. She looked up and saw Isabella’s complacent smile. She was holding Lucas’s arm in a superior way, as if they were a couple, and she was just an outsider. Olivia’s head hurt intensely. She stood there and did not move.
Lucas instantly pulled down his face, “Get out!” Olivia froze and pushed the lunchbox to him, “Do…remember to have your meal. I’ll go home now.” Lucas pursed his lips and did not speak. Isabella’s eyes rolled and she straight away took over the lunchbox and said with a smile, “Thank you so much, we were just planning to eat outside, now we could save much time.”
She wore a meaningful smile and deliberately stared at Lucas with an affectionate look. Lucas was keeping a straight face but he did not criticize her. What should she do for the rest of her time? Olivia felt her legs weak and she would lose her balance if she stayed there any longer. She forced out a smile and walked out.
