Book:Tell me you love me Published:2024-5-28

By the time Olivia woke up, she was in a daze for a long time. Only then did he finally realize where she was at now.
It was the hospital.
“You’re awake!”
“Doctor, she’s awake.”
Olivia glanced warily at the doctors and nurses scurrying around nearby her. She asked weakly, “Why am I here?”
Her last memory comprised of her lying in home alone at night, and a throbbing headache was assaulting her. She also remembered giving Lucas a call…
The doctor ran an examination through her and looked at her pitifully, “Your disease showed some side effects since last night, and if it were not for the property security checking on you and realizing that there was something wrong, you would be in a detrimental danger now!”
A flash of disappointment flashed across in Olivia’s eyes. A sarcastic smile appeared on her face. At a critical time like his, was she still holding on to any hopes on Lucas? Was she too useless?
“Ms. Cooper, you should make a call to your family. You can’t cover up something like this for long.”
Olivia shut her eyes, “You can go out now.”
All she wanted now was to be all alone by herself.
Olivia had known Lucas for so many years, but Lucas never harboured any good feelings towards her. In the past, Olivia would not care about it because she naively thought that with a lifetime laying in front of her, she would be able to make Lucas discover her good points.
However, judging from the looks of things, she didn’t have much time left. It was highly possible that Lucas would never discover anything good about her in her limited time left.
He didn’t love her now, and it was probable that she wouldn’t be able to wait for the day when he would have feelings for her, ever.
She shut her eyes and allowed her tears to flow freely into the creases of her pillow.

When Lucas picked up the call by Olivia, he was in a meeting. A few shareholders were looking at him expectantly, and as he watched his phone vibrating without letting up, with a slight change in his face, he finally raised his hand slightly to pause the meeting.
“Olivia, you better have the perfect reason for doing this!” He pushed the door of the meeting room and warned into his phone sternly.
Olivia was leaning against a window in the hospital, and she was admiring the scenery out there. The sun was shining brightly, but all she was feeling was a touch of certain coldness.
“Olivia, I want to see you now.”
“What the hell are you asking for?” Lucas knitted his brows while recalling the call from last night. He forcible pushed away his wrath wracking him from within and continued, “I am in a meeting. We will talk when I get back later at night.”
To him, promising a conversation with Olivia was the most generous thing he could have done. After all, ever since marrying Olivia, he never set his eyes straight at this woman.
Olivia bit her lips, and her initially dim eyes were alight with new hope.
If… he still had some feelings for her, was it enough for her to keep carrying on?
“Alright. I will wait for you.”
She heard the sound of the call disconnecting, and then she tried to force away all kinds of thoughts.
She had loved Lucas for too long to the point of almost forgetting her own self. Therefore, if she could grasp at any sort of hope, that would be enough for her to not let go.
Olivia went through the hospital discharge procedure by herself. She rejected the doctors and nurses’ suggestion to continue with her treatment and she went home by herself.
It was very unlikely for her to be cured of lymphoma, and Olivia thought that she wasn’t a lucky woman to brave through that storm. She didn’t want to waste any time lying in a hospital bed.
She still had a lot she wanted to achieve.
She vowed to finish all of those during her limited lifetime.
