Serena got back to her room after training for more than 3 hours. She is tired and hungry, but she is also grateful that there was a place in the castle.
How come nobody told me about this place on the first arrival? How come? She kept wondering all through her training.
She fell on the bed and rested for 20 minutes after getting to her room. She stood up and entered the bathroom to wash her sweaty body clean.
“Serena,” she heard a voice call her when she was tying her towel around her body.
“Serena.” The voice came again.
She opened her bathroom door and went outside. She opened the front door to see Beta Adam standing there.
Immediately their eyes met, Beta Adam’s eyes surprisedly fell on her semi-naked body, but he was fast to move his eyes away.
“What is it?” Serena inquired.
“Um… I came to tell you not the forget king Zed’s dinner. It’s been a while.” Beta Adam informed.
“Okay. Thanks for reminding me. I’m quite hungry myself. I’ll dress up then come out to the kitchen to make something for him and myself.” Serena said and smiled.
“What about me?” Beta Adam questioned.
The question confused Serena a bit.
“I thought the kitchen chefs prepare your meal or…”
“I was just kidding. Go on and dress up.” Beta Adam interrupted her before walking away.
Serena closed the door, still looking confused.
What was that look on his face? She wondered.
“Yeah, I noticed it too. He looked sad just now when you told him you’d prepare just our meal and the king’s,” Aya supported her thoughts.
“But why will that make him unhappy? That is not Beta Adam, right? I’ve never really seen him acting soft at all. He is always a tough one, or did he suddenly become soft?” Serena asked her wolf.
“Maybe we didn’t notice. Maybe he has always been so soft from the very beginning,” Aya said, smirking.
“And since he has decided to show you his other side. That means he now considers us part of the crew. Even king Zed said it himself. He said you’re one of his people. That’s so exciting. I think you should make your meal along,” Aya said excitedly.
“Don’t go overboard with your thoughts, Aya. It might not seem the way we put it. It might be something else, but I’ll be happy if that happens to be the case tho. I’ll be so happy,” Serena smiled.
“Get dressed now,” Aya rushed.
Serena opened her closet and selected a comfortable nightdress that’ll match her new beauty.
She packed her hair up and picked her phone along with her before going down to the kitchen. As usual, she saw no one inside the kitchen.
The castle’s kitchen was always deserted. Then why was it built in the first place? Serena wondered as she searched for ingredients to use.
She was going to make a pot of chicken curry for King Zed and his Beta.
She looked through all the ingredients, but all the ingredients she found weren’t enough. She dropped everything with her and rushed out of the castle to the mini Mansion. She went straight to the kitchen, where she found Lilian and the two other chefs busy chatting and cooking.
Without saying a word to them, she went to look for the ingredients she came for.
She opened the upper cardboard and started bringing out the ingredients there.
“What are you looking for?” She heard Lilian ask.
“Just concentrate on what you are doing.” She replied simply and continued with the ingredients.
Lilian walked to stand behind her.
“I’m sorry, I can’t allow you to do that. I can’t allow you to take the ingredients here for yourself.” Lilian said rudely.
“Yeah, just because you managed to seduce the king and he fell for you, you think you are on top of the world, but the truth is, you are still his lowly slave. You are still his foot match.” Another voice said from behind.
The four of them laughed mockingly.
Serena scoffed.
“Then what are you guys? His waist match? Or his toe match? The last time I checked, you don’t cook his meal anymore. That responsibility was taken away from the four of you and were given to me. You say I seduced King Zed. If I really did seduce him, then do you think you for sure remain here?”
“But… be really careful, king Zed cares for me a whole lot now. If he hears you are ganging up against me, he’ll really fire you. I advise you to go back to your work now if you don’t want to become homeless overnight.” Serena mocked back and smirked.
Rosa scoffed.
“I really want to pull your hair. Your aura got stronger, but I’m not just any wolf. I’m the daughter of Alpha’s. Even if your Aura scares up the others, it won’t scare me.” She said and rolled her eyes.
Serena smiled and started putting everything she came for into a bowl.
“If king Zed questions me on why I finished with his dinner late. I’ll be telling him all that happened tonight. Do you know what that means? Preventing the king from having his dinner? Oh, I’m afraid you all might be really thrown into jail, or you all might become homeless tonight. But I’ll do you all a favor and keep this secret for as long as you respect yourselves.” Serena lifted her hand to Lilian’s hair.
She patted it a little.
“You became shorter because I became taller. I wonder why Isaac even slept with you lot in the first place. I wonder what he saw in you jealous freaks.” Serena mumbled and shook her head as she walked out of the kitchen.
She could only imagine the shocked expression they have right now.
“Stupid.” She insulted as she walked out of the mini Mansion.

She got back and started preparing chicken curry soup for king Zed and his Beta.
After running around the kitchen for minutes, she finally rounded up her cooking.
She dished out king Zed’s portion, covered it, and kept it aside. She also dished out Beta Adam’s own, wrapped it, and placed it on a tray.
She carried it and went up to his room since they now share the same floor. It was easy to get in touch with him.
She knocked on his door and, without waiting for his reply, opened the door.
She met Beta Adam undressing and was shocked. She immediately turned her back to him.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t know that you were undressing. I’ll just keep your food here and leave.” Serena rushed her words. She walked to the bed and kept the tray there before running out of his room.
She could hear his low chuckles. Embarrassed, she shut the door and left the floor to king Zed’s floor.
She got to his door, and the guards moved out of the way for her to pass. She opened king Zed’s door slowly and peeped in to ensure that he was not undressing or anything.
“What is it?” She heard his voice very close to her ear. She flinched and almost fell, but King Zed caught her before she could reach the floor.
When Serena regained her posture, she swallowed her saliva repeatedly in embarrassment.
King Zed left her arm and turned to face her.
“What do you want?” He asked a second time.
“I.. I.. came to tell you that dinner is ready, your Highness.” She stuttered and said.
King Zed didn’t say a word for two minutes, only just kept staring at her and maybe trying to see what was going on in her mind.
Serena, when no reply came, slowly lifted her eyes to stare at the king.
Their eyes locked, her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly lowered her eyes.
“I am so sorry, your Highness. I came into your chambers without informing you first. I’m so sorry,” Serena apologized.
She couldn’t think of any other reason why King Zed was staring at her.
“I want to remove the title ‘slave’ from you.” King Zed finally groaned out the words.
Serena’s eyes fled up to stare at him again.
“My.. my King?” She gasped out.
“Don’t you want that?” He questioned.
Serena’s mouth opened, but no words came out. She was again beyond shocked.
“Go bring my dinner up here. I don’t want to come down.” King Zed Instructed.
“Y.. yes, your Highness. I’ll do that right away.” Serena answered and immediately rushed out from his chambers with full speed.
Even the guards outside were surprised at the speed she used.
She got down in no time to carry his meal, and she placed a bottle of water on the tray his dinner was on and carried it up to his room.
She got to his door and announced her presence before opening the door and walking in.
She saw King Zed sitting comfortably on his bed. She brought the bed table there to him and arranged his meal on it.
She took a step back, went on his knees, and bowed her head in greetings.
“Thank you so much, your Highness. I really don’t know how else I’m supposed to express my gratitude for all you’ve done for me. I don’t have the money to pay you back, or I could have done that.”
“I just need you at my company. That’s all.” King Zed said simply.
Serena lifted her head from the floor to look at him.
“I will make sure to serve you the very best I can, your Highness. I promise I won’t disappoint.” Serena promised, tearing up.
She still can’t believe the words he told her a few minutes ago. He is removing the slave title from her.
That means she will no longer be his slave. That means she won’t be called his foot match like she was called earlier. It made her so excited, so so grateful to him.
It takes ages for a king to do that to his slave. Kings that even do that do it out of pity and satisfaction. They do it when they are sure that their slaves have served them well.
She couldn’t really believe it.
Earlier, what Lilian and the others had said got to her pretty much even tho she pretended to be okay.
Yes. I’m still his foot match. Even with all these, I still can’t act out of place. I must remember that I am still his slave no matter what. Serena had told herself repeatedly in the kitchen while preparing his meal.
Did he perhaps read my mind? How on earth did that happen? Serena kept wondering, still on her knees.
A drop of tear rolled down her eyes.
“Stand.” King Zed ordered.
Serena stood up on her feet.
“Tomorrow, you’ll start repaying me for granting you freedom. But remember that you are still under me even tho granted freedom. You won’t do things that I won’t like. You’ll report everything you do at the company, and you must follow everything Elena tells you to do.” King Zed instructed.
“Of course. Of course.” Serena bowed again.
“You can excuse yourself. I’ll send someone to send back the dishes to the kitchen once I’m done.” King Zed added.
“Yes. Thank you,” She thanked and walked to the door.
She held the door handle but hesitated a bit, she felt that she had forgotten to do something, but she didn’t know what exactly she was supposed to do.
She pushed the door open wider and walked out, then closed the door but still stood outside his door.
“What is it?” Aya, her wolf, asked.
“I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. I feel I feel like there is something I should do. I feel so weird and feel even weirder that I’m leaving his side,” Serena answered.
“Then what are you waiting for? Please get back in and let’s stay with him,” Aya urged.
Serena hesitated but did what her wolf advised her. She opened the door and went back in.
