Chapter 69: COMING FOR REAL

Book:Mated To A Vampire Published:2024-6-4

“Who told you I’m a betrayer? You stupid witch!” I howl at Sophia, Debe threatening to take control of my body.
“Don’t provoke my vampire, Sophia. Why on earth would you call me a betrayer?” I yell at her but she does not move an inch. She remains stuck to the ground, this scares me more because normally, Sophia would be begging for my help to calm Debe now but now she must have gotten some powers more than I have, to be able to defy my orders.
“You’ll die at last. You betrayer.” She repeats, and picks up there stones as she heads towards the door. Her eyes and physique has returned to normal now, she jerks the door open and walk out angrily.
“Debe, please advise me, what do I do?” I tell Debe in my mind and I know she’s listening.
“I also don’t know. Follow her, and hear what she has to say.” She replies, and i sniffle.
“I have an idea.” Cate speaks up and my mind becomes slightly elated.
“What is it, Cate?” I ask her and she tells me something but quietly.
“You have the witch spirit in you automatically since your clone has it. So if Sophia wants to attack you in any way, don’t retaliate through me or Debe, use your witch spirit instead.”
“Okay?” I tell him to speak further and my hands form into fists, my lips smirking with hatred.
“That’s all I have to say.” She retorts.
“Okay, thank you.” I thank them, and tiptoe after them. I deem it right to go meet Robert for a solution so I take steps to get there but taking the last step, I see Sophia groaning on Robert’s table and Robert petting her. I retrace my steps, and dodge then I eavesdrop whatever they are saying.
“You mean Rose has been planning to misguide you?” Robert says and Sophia shushes him. She lifts her head and i see her red and swollen eyes, I should not have had this intention, I’m done for. Oh my goodness. Robert stands up and turns on the soundproof, and this makes me draw nearer. Instead of stressing my ears and attracting attention from the wolves passing by, I rather go to the back of his office and that seems more convenient.
“Robert, please, you are the only one I have.” She sobs, and starts to cry out loud.
“Please, she said Jude and Ben are going to have an hot argument next semester. I don’t have mind for that. Please, Robert.”
“Okay, Sophia. Don’t cry. Don’t sob. I’ll handle it.” He replies, huskily. “But I told you not to take the witch power upon yourself. Why did you?”
“It’s not my fault. I have been wanting to know what Rose is keeping from me. What Isabella does hide from me too. They are freaking secretive vampires, that’s why I withdrew the power from Rose.”
My heart drops to my feet.
What did she say?
“Whattt… Whattt?” Robert stammers. “You…. did what?!”
“I withdrew her power. She no longer has the power of a witch, I now do. I can transfer it to her again if I want.” She replies. “And that is what I’m going to do since I now know who she really is.”
My heart calms down a bit.
“Oh my goodness. Sophia, you are so brave.” Robert ‘wows’ her.
“Just like Dylan.” Sophia blushes. “That reminds me, I want to see my friends unlike Rose.”
“Oh okay. Martha and Jessica…” Robert replies.
“And Ann.” She adds, and Robert clicks his tongue.
“Oh okay… Ann and Jessica would be having their celebration tomorrow, so you can attend and get to see them.”
“Oh, alright. Thank you.” She appreciates.
“But, nevertheless…” Sophia speaks softly, and my ears flap with my head nodding. “… why didn’t they even care to know where we were?”
“You mean those friends?” He asks, almost immediately.
“Yes, sure.” Sophia retorts. “Why didn’t they?”
“Well, they did. But they didn’t get to you. In fact, they are being transported over here. They were gone to search for you in the mountains.”
“I thought as much.” Sophia sighs. “That was what I told Rose too but she didn’t listen to me. Well, that gave me a tip to withdraw her power. Stupid girl.” She says with so much confidence and Debe starts to growl.
“Can we just go together to the mountains and check them there?” Sophia asks in an elated tone.
“Nope.” Robert deadpans. “They will be here soon. I’ll take you to them. They will be so happy to see you.”
“And again, ensure you do not hold any grudge against Rose so your friends won’t start to get worried.”
“I’ll try to.” She says, and stands up from the chair. She hits the table with her hands, and Robert’s attention becomes drawn to that. He looks up at her.
“Taking up the witch power will only let me get my mate late so I’m giving it back to her.” She splutters. “Tell me how.”
Robert chuckles, and asks her to sit but she doesn’t.
“Okay then. The rite you performed in that class should be repeated. Once she sees you and doesn’t come inside, she will get her power back.”
I get that tip, form a fist, and leave my hiding arena. I hide inside a class and promise myself to play along. Just to retrieve my power, that is all. After that, I, WITH MY BARE HANDS, WILL KILL SOPHIA
“Rose! Rose! Rose!” I hear my name’s multiple times and as I look back, I see an angel. Just an angel, that’s my description.
“I am coming for you soon.” The angel says, and rushes up to the clouds. My heart starts to pound and the only one who can advise now is Sophia who has become my enemy. I should go meet Robert now but he’s annoyed that I do hide Sophia from him. Not even when Sophia has told him my selfish plans.
“Coming for me, how?” I lift my eyes to the sky, but get no reply.
“Whattt… are you hallucinating?” A student asks as she passes by. I lower my head and roll my eyes at her.
“What’s wrong with you?” She asks, seeming caring.
“Just leave me the fuck alone.” I clip, shutting my eyes. She goes away grudgingly and that makes me leave this spot quickly before any student acts same.
It’s still dark, I brighten my eyes through Debe to check the time since there’s a sudden power outage. I see that it’s 9pm. I move to one of the classes to sleep and fortunately, I pass by the class where Sophia is making her rites. She does it as she did, earlier and I pass by without walking in. Then in a moment, I feel something returning into my bones. My bones crack and crunch and I find somewhere to get myself well. I hide behind a cave and I return to normal.
The issue of power loss has been settled, what now scares me now is the angel that told me: “I am coming for you.”
This is what I keep thinking about till I doze off and the next day comes up with dazzling light and stroking happiness of moons. Three great people and ten other less important people will be mated, it has been said in the map.
I forgot to tell you, the map is now in Robert’s control.
I yawn, and jerk up immediately. I dust my cloth and to the field, I head, to attend the coronation services of today which is starting by 7am with immediate alacrity. It’s 6:45am now. I gotta go.
