Sophia’s POV
“Jessica… Not Jessica?” I rub my eyes with my right palm, to confirm what I’m seeing.
“Jessica, is this really you?” My mouth goes agape as she smiles meaning that she’s the one.
“Yes, it’s me, dear.” She replies, smiling and asking for a hug. “How have you been?”
“I have been good.” I reply, after answering her for a hug. “We heard you went to look for us in the mountains.”
“Yeah, actually.” She says, detaching from the hug. “We were told you are here with Rose so we calmed down and got our mates.”
“Where are others?” I say, hastily. “Quick, quick, show them to me.”
I drag her across the hallway and we both move fast though staggering but maintaining a great pace.
“There in the room.” She points to a room beside the shifting room. “Anna is there. Martha got mated yesterday, I hope you attended?”
I nod my head in approval though I didn’t but it won’t be a good thing telling your friend you didn’t attend the coronation service of the other friends.
“Anna!” I shout on top of my voice. “The Black Beautiful American!”
“Hail thee, Sophia!” She high-fives and gets out of the bed where she was lying with a guy. She grabs a towel and quickly comes to the doorstep.
“Sophia, so happy to see you.” She smiles sheepishly, using her other hand to tell the guy on the bed to get away. The guy wears a short and gets into the bathroom. Then she lets me in.
“Sophia, it’s been a while. Where have you been to?” She asks, questioningly.
“It’s been a tough time going through the hustle and bustle of life to get a mate finally.” I tell her, and her forehead furrows.
“Hmm… same here. But we gotta live, okay?” She becomes elated all of a sudden. “Have you gotten your mate?”
“I’ll tell you that later.” I retort. “I and Rose couldn’t finish the examination for last semester, can you help us plead with Robert to let us do it before we resume by Jan 10?”
“January 10. December 25.” She clicks her tongue. “15 days. Sure, I will. We will. Have you seen Martha and her mate?”
“No, I haven’t and thank you for helping me go see Robert for my exams.”
“I haven’t gone yet, Sophia. You needn’t thank me.” She chuckles, and touches my cheek.
“Now, can we talk about mates?” She asks, adjusting her position.
“Okay, sure. Since you would help me and I won’t have to repeat the former class in school.”
“Sure, babygirl. I am getting mated today.” She claps her palms together, and screams of joy escape her lips in haste.
“Wow! That’s a wow! Is he the one in the bathroom?”
Her expression changes for a moment but she hides that and keeps smiling as though she hasn’t heard anything.
“Let’s go prepare. But first, let’s see Jessica.” She says. “She is getting mated to a very great vampire.”
“Oh, wow. A Vampire?” I ask in return. Shocked.
“Yes. My mate is a wolf. Martha’s mate is a wolf but Jessica is getting a vampire mate.” She explicates.
“Okay. Let’s go see her.” I tell her, and stand up. Her towel falls off and I see her entire nakedness. As though I’m a male, I face another side but I’ll advise her not to have sex with her mate now until she gets marked.
“What about Rose? How’s she coping?” She asks, readjusting the towel on her chest since the loads don’t fit in the available space.
“She is good. Ehen, that reminds me. Have you heard about the witch and wizard stuff?”
“We are going to see Jess. Screw that. We all need the power in us and we have it.” She winks at me. “I’m sure you have it as well.”
Starting to regret why I returned my power to Rose, how do I retrieve it again?
As we take one step, someone enters with haste and i look up to see that it is Jessica.
“Oh, Jess. Jess! Jess!” I hug her tightly and she does, as well. “Where the hell have you been?”
“I should be asking you that.” She chuckles, and detach herself from the hug.
“Anna, where is your mate?” She asks hee, questioningly.
“He is…” She stammers, scratching the back of hee neck. “He went out just now. You Know, to buy some stuff.”
Jessica knows that’s a lie but she doesn’t say it.
Then an alarm rings and blares this whole school. A lot of wolves start to disperse, the higher percentage going to the field while the lesser percentage going to the shifting room, they are those that just clocked eighteen and wants to activate their shifting power.
“Hey Anna. Let’s go. It’s time.” Jessica snaps her fingers.
“I’m set. To follow you.” I tell her, and she smiles.
“I’ll be right there with you.” Anna retorts, and Jessica runs to the field.
Anna goes straight into the bathroom with only a towel as a covering on her body.
“Anna.” I call her but she doesn’t reply. She enters the bathroom and I dodge behind the door. The opening in the door makes me see all what she is doing.
As she gets into the room, she drops the towel and the guy clutches onto her. They start to cuddle themselves and they get inside the water bed. Water bed is a bed placed in a bath room for lovers who prefer having their sex in the bath room. I swear, if they try anything funny, I will jerk the door open. I have already given Anna the intention that I’ve followed Jessica behind so she doesn’t know I’m in here. She didn’t lock the door. As the guy squeezes the loads on her chest, she moans and the guy directs her to the water bed. She lies down flat and the guy unbuckles his belt, his boxer getting dragged down by Anna. Then the machine sticks out. Anna adjusts her position, her head on the bed and her buttocks raised up.
No. Not now. What nonsense.
With my left leg, I jerk the door open but I don’t move inside. I only dodge and watch their reactions. Anna quickly gets back to her sense as she hurriedly puts on all her clothes. In the talk of a minute, she’s done.
“Let’s go, mate. Let’s go. Mark me and we will enjoy ourselves to the fullest.” She tells her mate, and he kisses her forehead as he also dresses up. Inside that same bathroom.
Since they are coming out now, I quickly get out of the room and I bump into Rose.
“Hey, watch your way.” She instructs with a harsh tone. I jerk her off of the road and hiss as I head towards the coronation field. As I sit on one of the chairs, Anna sits beside me until a man directs her and her mate to another seat.
Then the meeting begins.
“Anna Shakespeare.” The man calls her and she walks out to the podium. All the students cheer, and jam their palms together. My eyes catch hold of the registered number of people in this meeting and they are 1184. Holly molly. Imagine the kind of noise that would blare this field if they all shout and or scream.
“Smith Anderson.” He calls out again and the guy walks majestically to the podium. The students cheer again and jam their palms together.
“Now…” the man says and i look straight into his eyes. He resembles someone I know. Maybe he would introduce himself.
“… here are the first set of people getting mated. It’s 7:12am now. We gotta start.” The students cheer again.
“I’m Karl, the Alpha of the MoonTeam pack. I have been summoned by Robert, the next of kin to the moon goddess to be the leader of today’s service.” He introduces himself, and the whole students go into grave silence. Karl? Robert is next of kin to the Moon Goddess. Holly Molly.
“Smith Anderson, are you ready to take Anna Shakespeare as your mate?” He asks, and Smith walks over to the table. With a dagger, he cuts his left palm and blood gushes out as he directs it to the rite can.
“Enough.” Karl orders. “Anna Shakespeare, are you ready to take Smith Anderson as your mate?”
Anna walks over to the table, and does same thing Smith did, and they both say, “Yes, I am ready.”
“Go ahead. Mark her.” The students start to make a joyful noise as Smith moves near Anna and his fangs shoot out. Not a Vampire’s fang, a wolf’s tongue but now fang since it’s being sharp is required now. Then straight to her nape, he draws the mark. Anna lets out pain on her neck, and Smith finally stops after drawing the mark real good. Then they hug themselves and exit the podium.
Rose sighs. She’s sitting in front of me. I think she is starting to regret that she ignored Greg.
“Jessica Nuggets.” She calls Jessica and the noise increases with every step she takes to get to the podium.
“Robert Muffins.” He calls, and Robert stands up and walks over to the podium. The students didn’t cheer, they give him a standing ovation and hum, too shocked.
Holy Mary! Robert is getting mated to Jessica. I have really missed something.
