Chapter 46: UNDEAD

Book:Mated To A Vampire Published:2024-6-4

“Sure.” Jude dramatically walks inside the office. Rose stares at him, and Maxwell walks faster inside and clutches me onto him.
“Today is the day of coronation for all students present in school.” He winks at me.
“Excluding me.” I shrug my shoulders, and Maxwell nods.
“No, all. The fact that you’re not mature to be mated doesn’t mean you won’t attend the coronation service of other students.” Jude explains.
“Maxwell, release her unto me. We have some many things to discuss.” Jude walks up to me and stands in face contact with Maxwell.
“Sophia, we have to go.” He leaves and shatters the glass door again. “I give you one damn minute to arrive here.”
“Maxwell, I’ve got to go. Leave me alone, let me go meet him.” I free myself from his grip and run after Jude but Rose holds me down.
“No, Sophia. Don’t.” She tells me.
“And why is that?” I ask her, and sweat trickles down from my forehead to my jaw.
“Maxwell, if I open my eyes and see you standing still, I’ll break your neck, you useless o…” He shuts his lips with his fingers and directs him away from his office with his hands.
“Go, go, go.” Rose tells him and he hesitantly walks out. I see him dodging beside the glass door and eavesdropping our conversation.
“Sophia, the first time I called you, what did I tell you?” Roberts asks as we are all seated. Me and Rose on the swivel chairs as usual and he on his official lecturer chair.
“Um… If I remember, you told me that anything about getting mated, I should come to you for advices…” I tell him.
“Okay, very good. Exactly.” He gulps down saliva, and sighs.
“Is the coronation starting today?” Rose asks.
“Yes, sure. In thirty minutes. All preparation has been made. So, no worries.” He replies.
“So, let’s go prepare, okay?” I tell Robert and stand up with Rose as we both leave his office. I see hands waving at me from one of the parking lots, and I see Maxwell loitering around this arena.
“Who is that waving?” I ask Rose but she hisses.
“Let’s go to our hostel. Come, let’s pass through the backyard.” She directs me there, and we both get out of the school through that means.
“But this environment is favored by trees and hills and dark objects.” I tell her, and stay still, refusing to continue walking with her.
“We have to go faster lest they catch up with us!” Rose slightly yells at me, and grabs my hand as she runs into the forest behind the school’s backyard.
“Rose, what if rogues appear?” I muffle.
“I’ll fight them with ease.” She replies though gasping for breath. My heart throbs as I sight fifteen rogues approaching.
“Rogues!!!” I scream at Rose and she freezes at that spot.
“Okay, no prob.” She says, and throws her head sidewards. I throw her head forwards again and punch her on her chest.
“Come on, dude!” I yell at her. “Don’t fight. Let’s escape!!!”
“I’ll fight them, but you can escape. I’ll catch up with you.” She softly says.
“No, Rose. Your clone will get to me.” I bark at her and this arena start to glow with different kinds of colours again.
“Rose? Let’s go!!” I yell at her again, and she rises up to her feet as we hurry backwards, taking different routes ’cause we must ensure we don’t get into school again.
“I think we escaped.” Rose breathes out, as we get to a main street where cars are zooming on and off. I hope it isn’t that kind of bullshit street that I encountered one day with fake Maxwell and Robert.
We soon reach our hostel and we notice that all the walls and paintings have been infected by cobwebs and different kinds of slashes. It looks like it’s been demolished but only this part was saved.
“What do you think?” She asks me before we knock on our door.
“Ring the doorbell?” I suggest, and as she tries to ring it, I shout at her. “NO, don’t!”
“Why? Why are you opposing yourself?” She rolls her eyes at me.
“I’ll knock on it instead. Do you think Martha would be here?” I ask her and her pupils dilate.
“Martha, Anna, Jessica.” She sighs.
“What about them?” I ask her and tap her when she doesn’t reply.
“They are three fools.” She chuckles softly but I know at the back of my mind that she’s got a secret to hide from me. Stupid Vampires! I’d never have to deal with them again! Mum hid her identity from me, if not for the intrusion and invasion from Jude, I wouldn’t have known that she’s a damn vampire. Ben too!
“Sophia?” I call Rose and she laughs at me in derision. It is her continuous laughter that makes me remember that I called my name instead.
“Bitch, are you going crazy?” She continues laughing out her anus.
“Oh, I’m not. Just stressed. Stressed, that’s all!” I say, and knock on the door. No one answers. Rose knocks on it as well and I try it again. We do that repeatedly for five good minutes. Since it’s passed five minutes, it’s now five fucking minutes as we push the door open. We’ve got energy, man. The door falls flat on the ground and we see an empty room. Empty except Rose’s portable box and her bed. Rose coughs out her lungs as the dirt in the room gathers up in a stiif cloud and fills the space in our nostrils.
“They have really gone home. We came too late.”
“Not my fault.”
“Not our fault.”
“Sophia, come and have a look.” Rose suddenly calls me to order and we both sight the object.
“What is that?” I clip.
“I don’t know.” She whispers, and we hesitantly move near the object.
“Why are we getting closer since we do not know the object?” I ask Rose but she sighs and we keep moving to check out the object.
“It’s just an object, Rose. It’s a dead object.” I tell her but she doesn’t agree.
We finally see the object lying flatly on the ground. Dead object. And as we try to tap it, it moves and grabs Rose by her hand. I jerk Rose away from the object, and my eyes come in close contact with an encryption on the object’s forehead.
Undead.
